Parts of this issue has been fixed via XRENDERING-684 by just generating more newlines at the start of the document in the XWiki 2.0/2.1 syntax renderer. The parser is unchanged, so it is still needed to have 3 newlines at the start of the document for an empty line to be recognized. There has been no change regarding the end of the document.
