Except for very specific macros (async is one), I think it's not the case anymore? Check the `Just inserted screenshot`s at https://design.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Proposal/WYSIWYGusabilityofXWikimacros#HPermacroanalysis IMO this ticket can be closed as a duplicate, but I can't find the actual duplicate.
