What it should do: before the workflow is started display the same view on drafts a user would see if it has been started. What it does now: shows the user the option to start the workflow, which they can't actually do. I use a controlled document template for users to start pages which will use the publication workflow. This template has the macro in place when a new page is created using it. It's pretty normal to have pages which have never been published with the macro on them. I can instruct my users to always start the workflow I suppose, but I can't guarantee they will. I think the view of a user viewing a draft doc, should match what they see when the workflow is started and the page is in draft (i.e. all they can see is the status of draft), but instead they are given the option to start the workflow which they can't actually do since they don't have the necessary permissions. |
