Are you referring to the usage of the Code Macro , i.e. {{code}} or do you really mean {{
}}?
You seem to be referring to editing, I am assuming you're referring to WYSIWY editing, right? (In which case, the component in jira should be CKEditor and not rendering)

, adding a space between them doesn't add a new line for me.
