Yay for new the new check! Btw: the description of the extension still reads "This application is currently an alpha version, released for tests purpose, ..." Is this really still true? I know of several people who stick to their XWiki 6.x version because they are scared to use an updater on their production data. (And no, they do not have a separate testing instance, no resources for that :-/ ) Clemens ----- Ursprüngliche Nachricht ----- Von: Guillaume Delhumeau Am: Wednesday, 30.11.2016, 14:53 An: Xwiki Users, Xwiki Developers Betreff: [xwiki-devs] [ANN] Release of Nested Pages Migrator Application 0.7

Hello Clemens. Until we get an 1.0 version, I'm afraid we cannot say it's 100% safe. The strongest problem is http://jira.xwiki.org/browse/XWIKI-9046 and it's very complicated to fix right now. I've implemented a kind of "error recovery" (just re-run the migrator after having restarted the wiki) but the whole process remains complicated. Maybe these people can contract a consultant to help them migrating their data on production. Thanks, 2016-12-05 13:59 GMT+01:00 Clemens Klein-Robbenhaar < [email protected]>:

Then I think we need to improve the documentation to explain what is the recommended solution for now till it’s 1.0 on the following pages: * http://extensions.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Extension/Nested+Pages+Migrator+A... (there’s a warning box but it doesn’t offer any alternative) * http://platform.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Features/ContentOrganization/Nested... (it says to use the migrator app) We need to offer a solution for users who want to migrate and IMO we cannot tell them to not use XWiki 8.x because the migrator is not in 1.0 version. WDYT? Thanks -Vincent

I've created 2 issues that could help: * http://jira.xwiki.org/browse/NPMIG-50 - Add the ability to load/save a plan * http://jira.xwiki.org/browse/NPMIG-52 - Don't try to move a page holding a lot of revisions or attachments I think it could help a lot. If I am allowed to work on it, I suppose we could have a close-to-1.0 version quickly. 2016-12-05 14:59 GMT+01:00 Vincent Massol <[email protected]>:
