I have emailed recently here: it appears all my pages are gone. There is very limited search capability on myxwiki.
I can't find a single one of my pages. Ideas?
I deleted a document from a space, and that space is now missing.
Another intersting thing is that when I visit a document index, I see
The "documents" macro is not in the list of registered macros. Verify the
spelling or contact your administrator.
I said to myself, "Oh my god, somebody help me. I'm losing my data!!!"
What is going on?
Resending as attachments exceeded size limits and my email was sent for
moderation...

Yes, some (most) wiki pages/spaces should be available to unregistered guests to view. Ideally we want all, members and staff: all users can view and comment on public pages, members can view edit and comment on public pages, staff can view, edit, comment on all pages (public and private). But considering my knuckle-headed moves with permissions so far I am trying to keep it basic for now.

I did not install any plug-ins. I only referenced the plugin as the page
I was looking at
(http://extensions.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Extension/Annotations+Application)
to try and discover the fix for my annotation problem referenced a
plugin, and to make sure it was installed. I simply looked in the
Extension Manager to ensure it was checked. My administration screen
(see attached: XWiki Preferences (XWiki.XWikiPreferences) - XWiki.png)
looks just like the one on that page
(http://extensions.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Extension/Annotations+Applicatio…).
I also have this admin page where I can make annotations visable or not:

Hello,
I'm using the AscTec SDK V3.0 under Windows7 (with Eclipse environement) downloaded from AscTec SDK Download Wiki page (http://wiki.asctec.de/xwiki/bin/view/AscTec+Development+Tools/SDK+Downloads). I'm trying to flash the HLP of the Mastermind (with JTAG adapter) to test the "SDK_EXAMPLE_gps_waypoint_control". When running OpenOCD Asctec-JTAG, the console shows only the line:
Info: openocd.c:92 main(): Open On-Chip Debugger (2007-08-10 22:30 CEST)
which means that the JTAG connection is activated correctly. But when debugging Asctec JTAG Debug, I get the following error:
'Launching Asctec JTAG Debug' has encountered a problem.
Error creating session
Details in attachments.
I'm trying to fix this error since the last week. I re-installed everything many times, I evenused another pc (windows7). But I still get the same error.
Where doesthe error come from? How to deal with this problem to get the code on the H.L.P correctly?
Best regards,
Karima BENZAID

Hi, All!
Activity Stream Macro works fine. One of the options it has to enable RSS Feed.
RSS Feed works fine with document changes, but doesn't include any comments added to the document.
So finally we have discrepancy: Activity Stream data: ALL CHANGES and it's feed document CONTEN changes ONLY.
Is there any way to watch also commenting activity in the feed?
Kind regards,
Dmitry
Hi!
I am running Xwiki 5.2 and trying to create a new wiki from the Wiki
Manager.
If fails with the following message in container logs: Access denied
for user 'xwiki'@'localhost' to database 'ezr' (where 'ezr' is the wiki
name).
I verified my installation reading the steps specified here :
http://platform.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/AdminGuide/InstallationMySQL
My guess is the 'xwiki' user can't create a new database : what if the
official documentation about xwiki MySQL user for multi-tenant usage ?
Do I have to modify something in MySQL privileges ?
Here is the resulting privileges of "grant all privileges on xwiki.* to
xwiki@localhost identified by 'xxx'"
+--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------+
| Grants for xwiki@localhost |
+--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------+
| GRANT USAGE ON *.* TO 'xwiki'@'localhost' IDENTIFIED BY PASSWORD '***' |
| GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON `xwiki`.* TO 'xwiki'@'localhost' |
+--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------+
From my understanding of the above , xwiki user only have all
privileges access to xwiki db... So the user can't create any additional
xwiki database !?
Thanks !

Hi,
I installed XWiki, but the home page is not what I want. I want it to be
like xwiki.org, that is, has the nav menu, and footer etc.
But I do not know how to start to do it. Shall I edit the view.vm?
Your advice is appreciated.

I have a hosted (xwiki.com) Enterprise XWiki and would like to enable
the Annotations feature
(http://extensions.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Extension/Annotations+Application).
They do not appear now.
After reviewing the above page, I am able to activate the Annotations
tab, however the I cannot find out how to turn on / make available the
annotations tool itself to create the annotations. That is, I do not
have the Annotations tool button in the "Edit" "Export" "More Actions"
header on the top of the page (see attached image).
Annotations are not available to the Admin role, as a registered user or
anonymous user.
I have tried the Ctrl + M (Meta + M) as well, thinking this still might
work even without the button, but nothing happens.
The Annotations plugin is installed (as I said I, can see the
"Annotations" tab on each page across the wiki at the top and bottom
next to "Comments" Attachments" etc.).
I am running the XWiki.DefaultSkin running the "Mint" color theme.
I have tried viewing on Ubuntu Firefox and Chrome; Mac Safari 6 and
Windows IE10.
Within the Annotations Application on the Administration page I have the
settings at:
* Annotations are activated: YES
* Except for the following spaces: NONE selected
* Display annotations by default: YES
* Display annotations highlight by default: YES
* XWiki class defining annotations structure: XWiki.XWikiComments
(this was already set--default?-- when I first visited the page).
I do see a note on the Annotations page, "/If you are using a custom
annotations class other than the previously default/
AnnotationsCode.AnnotationsClass /in the annotations configuration.../"
I have cleared my browser cache after selecting and saving the above.
I have searched the FAQ:
http://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/FAQCode/FAQSearch?space=FAQ&text=Annota…
I have searched the lists and found:
* http://xwiki.475771.n2.nabble.com/Annotations-not-working-td7345638.html
* http://xwiki.475771.n2.nabble.com/Annotations-comments-merge-validation-td7…
This thread indicates XWiki.XWikiComments is correct, "/Basically
the new format is XWiki.XWikiComments class instead of the old /
AnnotationCode.AnnotationClass"
* http://xwiki.475771.n2.nabble.com/Re-display-issues-in-IE-td7587297.html#a7…
Any advise appreciated, thanks,
Patrick

OK, I completely borked my wiki and space permissions/rights and have
locked myself out of several spaces as both Admin and a user (the global
permissions are all unchecked but I cannot see the wrench or click on
"administer space" from my Admin account).
Any way to reset all privileges to the "factor defaults?"
I do not have any users yet, but have migrated all of our content over
from our previous wiki.
Thanks,

After trying to import the standard XWiki-5.2.1 pages, I could not
import all the default pages. The resulting error message counted ca.
10-20% of all pages as erroneous.
I could manage to import a small number aof pages (2-3).
I am using a MySQL database configuration.
In the Tomcat error log, the first and often repeated exception are
copied after these lines.
Does anyone have a hint?
Could it be a configuration problem?
Thankyou in advance
Matthias

I had an extensive wiki, logged in, the user interface had changed since my last activity and I can't figure out where my wiki is, or if it is just gone?
That is a little disconcerting that our wiki's can completely dissapear, seeing how they can't be backed up and restored by us ...
Hello XWiki,
I am trying to paste an image in the WYSIWYG editor, without attach it, but I am getting an error... When I paste the image in the WYSIWYG editor the image looks fine but when I save and view the document the image crashes.

Oh, if this is about enabling GA on myxwiki.org, then the issue is very
simple: only extensions saved by users with programming rights can be used in the whole wiki. A farm admin will have to re-save the GA settings page for you. Which wiki are you referring to?

Hi,
I am trying to include a FavIcon in my wiki and I've found this
information, but it doesn't help me...

Well, a favicon is usually placed in the root of the URL, like
www.myserver.com/favicon.ico
Doing that in a java webapp container usually involves adding that file
not to the xwiki webapp, but to the ROOT webapp. In tomcat, there is a
ROOT directory inside webapps.
Another solution is to put something like this in
webapps/xwiki/skins/albatross/htmlheader.vm:
<link rel="icon" href="$xwiki.getSkinFile("favicon.png")" type="image/png"/>
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="$xwiki.getSkinFile("favicon.png")"
type="image/png"/>
and put a favicon.png (you can change the name, if you want) in
webapps/xwiki/skins/albatross
If you're not using the albatross skin, change the path accordingly.

Hi. A few months ago I hit the problem with exporting images to PDF with
the "XWiki MultipagePdfExport Application - Space Export" plugin with
configured LDAP/AD/SSO - https://jira.xwiki.org/browse/XWIKI-9161
After some time there was a fix suggested in that issue (a change of one
line) which works and looks reasonably. I don't know who is responsible
for the "Old Core - PDF export" component and who has proper knowledge
and permissions to review proposed change and push it into the
repository, so I asked here to gain attentions to make it fixed upstream.
Thanks

Hi all,
I'm on IE 8 and the WYSIWYG Editor won't allow me to scroll vertically or show the scrollbar. I have to use the arrow key to move through the lines to 'scroll'. The source editor scrolls fine though.
I realize that this is a hard question for you to answer due to lack of information, but does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? I don't appear to be getting any JS errors.
Thanks in advance,
Christian
XWiki Crew,
The Open Source Initiative (www.opensource.org) would like to migrate
from our current wiki, Dokuwiki, to XWiki. The goal of the effort is to
increase participation and collaboration among the broader open source
community through a platform that enables distributed groups to readily
find and contribute to the efforts of the OSI.
The wiki will be used (edited) by internal OSI staff, the Board of
Directors and OSI members (individuals, partners on various projects,
representatives from affiliate organizations and our corporate
sponsors). While we hope to see increasing use, currently the realistic
number of accounts would be less than 50 and actual authors/editors
would be around 20.
Per you instructions, I (username: Patrick Masson) have registered at
wiki.org. We would request our server name to be, 'osi.mywiki.org'
Thank you,
Patrick

Hi,
I'm currently getting right issues with my xwiki 5.1 installation. I have
several workspaces with both local and global users:
- Global users are authenticated by LDAP (defined in main wiki) and have
access to some workspaces and the main wiki.
- Local users are also authenticated by LDAP (defined in local
workspace) and cannot access any wiki other than the one they are defined.
The problem is that global users can navigate throught all wikis without
problems but local users are getting disconnected every 2 minutes. Looking
at catalina.out I have found these errors when clicking at any random
document:
*org.restlet.engine.log.LogFilter afterHandle443 GET
/xwiki/rest/wikis/workspace1/xxxxxx/xxxx/webhome - 401
424 0 10 *
It looks like my local users doesn't have right permission to access the
"/xwiki/rests/wikis/workspaceX" URL (maybe because they doesn't exists in
main wiki) and ends getting the 401 http error that makes the xwiki login
page to appear.
Looking for similar issues, I have found this Jira ticket with a similar
problem but it should be already been fixed for xwiki 4.1.2:
http://jira.xwiki.org/browse/XWIKI-7946
Anyone facing this issue? Should I migrate all my local users to global
users?
Thanks for your help!

Jaume
Is it possible in XWiki 2.x syntax to set span style?
E.g.:
Normal (%style="color: red;"%) red normal
makes following normal also red. Only solution I could get working was
embedded html code, e.g.:
normal {{html clean="false"}}<span style="color:
red;">{{/html}}red{{html clean="false"}}</span>{{/html}} normal
Are there any better approaches?
Thanks!
Valdis
I am on XWiki 5.2.
I would like to create multiple wikis so I'm trying to figure out the best
way to structure them and manage them.
I am going to leave Home as basic wiki that will be a starting point for
all users and it will allow them to navigate to the other wikis.
I want to create a wiki per department at work. I would be the main person
managing them all.
I want to customize the wiki template but I don't see anywhere to do that.
I want to make sure that all new wikis will have the same branding, some
core macros, and extensions..
I am also confused about how to manage extensions across the different
wikis? Do I need to go into each one and install the same extensions or is
there a central place to do that?
We've been using the wiki in a single department so far but now that we are
going to create multiple wikis I'd like to move the existing content to a
new wiki (so that Home is very pure and used only for navigating to other
wikis). I figured I could export the current content and import to the new
wiki but when I did this the applications were not installed so there's
missing macros and APIs.
We have configured Xwiki Enterprise 5.2.1 but in this LDAP group mapping is
not working.User is adding to XWikiAllGroup only.
xwiki.authentication.ldap.group_mapping=XWiki.XWikiAdminGroup=cn=XWikiAdminsGroup,ou=
wiki.geo.com,ou=Application
Access,ou=Structural,ou=geo,ou=Organizations,ou=Groups,dc=prime,dc=ds,dc=geo,dc=com|\
XWiki.XWikiWorkspaceUsersGroup=cn=XWikiWorkspaceUsersGroup,ou=wiki.geo.com,ou=Application
Access,ou=Structural,ou=geo,ou=Organizations,ou=Groups,dc=prime,dc=ds,dc=geo,dc=com
This setup was working fine in our earlier XWiki Enterprise Manager 5.1.
Some of the error log we are getting are as follows:
2013-11-26 13:18:36,408 [

Currenly in our production we are running XWiki Enterprise Manager 5.1
(Installed using WAR) with out any issue and everything is working fine. As
XEM will not avaliavble further we are trying Xwiki Enterprise 5.2.1 in our
test environment. But we are facing the above issues. We installed Xwiki
Enterprise 5.2.1 using apt-get install xwiki-enterprise-tomcat7-mysql.
Also in our test environment we tried to upgrade XWiki Enterprise Manager
5.1 to Xwiki Enterprise 5.2.1 using war file but it was not working.
Can anyone please help us.
I am deploying a new blog and authored a bunch of entries to get the
content going. I wanted to 're-order' these - essentially, I wanted to
ensure that when people view them, certain ones are (right now) at the
top. To do this I need to revise the date/time that the blog entry was
"published". I can't seem to change this information - can someone
point me in the right direction here?

Hi guys,
I am proud to announce WebViewers are now available for XWiki.
As part of the Resilience research project, I and others have been working on a
compatible solution for interfacing the variety of Javascript file viewers and
editors with the many available web application frameworks. The first few
WebViewers are available now on http://webviewers.org/ and as self-contained
archive files, are installable on any system supporting the API.
More interestingly, the first few WebViewers to be ported are now available as
XWiki Extensions on http://extensions.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/ExtensionCode/ExtensionSearch?sp…
and while they are largely prototypes, one which is useful right now is the
PDF WebViewer based on Mozilla's pdf.js.
http://extensions.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Extension/pdf+webviewer
This is of course installable with the Extension Manager and supports XWiki
versions 5.1 or newer.
With this you will be able to both view in a preview window and embed in a wiki
page, the content of a PDF attachment. Viewing of the attachment is done by
clicking on the magnifying glass shown next to the PDF attachment and embedding
a PDF attachment in the page is done using the {{embed}} macro (part of the
XWiki WebViewers extension).
You can see the embedded viewers and example uses of the {{embed}} macro here:
http://webviewers.org/xwiki/bin/view/Viewers/Demo
And you can see the magnifying glass icons next to the attachments here:
http://webviewers.org/xwiki/bin/view/Viewers/Demo#Attachments
If anyone has any questions or comments about WebViewers or the XWiki Extensions,
I'd love to hear them.
Thanks,
Caleb
Hi, All
There is a problem in XWiki which makes work with attachments very painful when filestorage is on: no way to manage them. Actually no "recycle bin" available for them in this case.
There is an issue in jira: XWiki.DeletedAttachments shows nothing when filesystem attachments are enabled .
What are plans in fixing it?
Kind regards,
Dmitry
Thanks, Marius!

I'd be happy with 5.3 upgrade
A bit more documentation will make me happy twice :)
For example, if I add new source, where and how should I store translations keys?

Hi,
LibreOffice now integrates with Content Management Systems and online
document storage via the CMIS standard. This allows you to access directly
documents stored on ECM systems, be they Open Source like Alfresco, Nuxeo or
proprietary, like Microsoft SharePoint.
Is XWiki supporting CMIS standart? If it is not - I think, that developers
should "put attention" on this subject, because this question looks like
"noticeably" for different kind of users.

Hi,
I installed the XWiki TableEdit extension, but I don't see the
"pencil" next to any tables.
Is there something else I need to do to "activate" it ?
I'm running xwiki 5.2 on tomcat7 on Ubuntu 12.04
Cheers
Thanks a lot, Marius!
1. I made a new source almost like in Blog search results section.
2. On clicking Save. It says, that it is saved.
3. I leave the Search suggest page
4. I come back to the Search suggest page and my new source is not in the list - it is disappeared mysteriously.
What could be wrong?
Another experiment:
In Query section I filled following in Blog's source
objcontent:__INPUT__* AND type:OBJECT AND class:XWiki.XWikiComments
It doesn't search in comments after this.
Any suggestions how to make it searching?
Thanks in advance.

Kind regards,

A user asked me if we could use the AppWithinMinutes (AWM) to create an error
log for a machine. When an error occures at that machine, the user would add
the date, error code, and some other stuff.
So I said, yes, we can use the AWM for that...but then I realized that a
user needs to enter a new page name if he wants to add a new entry to that
application.
For an errorlog application I would like to have an "autoincrement" that
automaticly generates a new (non-existing) pagename.
Is this possible with AWM?

We are testing IE 11 and it appears that the WYSIWYG will not load (Source loads fine and WYSIWYG loads fine in Chrome.) Has an issue been filed for this?

I don't know what could be wrong. It never happened to me and the logs
you provided are very limited. They basically don't provide any
information expect for the fact that something bad happened.

In your first mail you suggested that this is a fresh install (not an
upgrade) so that pop-up is expected, see the 3rd image on
http://platform.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Features/DistributionWizard#HUserI…
. The install process should continue after you log in. If there is no
progress for a long period of time you can always try to reload the
page (the UI may freeze due to a JavaScript error for instance). The
state is not lost because the installation process runs on the server
in the background and the UI simply displays its progress.
Hope this helps,
Marius

Hello all!
My name is Andreea Popescu, I'm an intern at XWiki SAS since the begging of
November. I want to help with improving existing apps and implementing new
ones, testing them and writing documentation.
Thank you!
Hi,
I managed installing the empty XWiki.
When loading the initial XWiki Enterprise UI the screen & the appserver
lock up.
In the logs I see the following, see below.
Clue: multiple errors like
ERROR o.x.v.i.DefaultVelocityEngine - Exception in macro #wikiHomePageLink
called at /templates/distribution.vm
Any help very much appreciated!
Rob.

Dear Community,
I am looking for an extension which asks me fore some details for example
Name, Number and Email. Then this extension should create an page for me
with a predefined layout in an predefined space. I need this for a customer
list in which all the information about the customer should be stored.
I am using "XWiki Enterprise 5.2"
Are there any extensions for my idea?
Yours sincerely,
Lukas (tonyloveshisprivacy)

Hello,
I just upgraded to XWiki version 5.2.1 and created an empty subwiki. I would like to load the UI xar, but the link that is offered in the administration mode (http://maven.xwiki.org/releases/org/xwiki/enterprise/xwiki-enterprise-ui-al…) does not work.
Of course I do have the xwiki-enterprise-ui-mainwiki-all-5.2.1.xar, but am in doubt if this should be used for subwiki's as well.
Can anyone tell me if it is okay to use the mainwiki XAR for subwiki's or provide me with a link to the UI XAR for subwiki's?
Thanks!
Henk

Hi all,
I've been looking for a long time a solution how to exclude some text from
the source, when linked to another page, but haven't found it yet.
We use XWiki as base of our help system for several applications. There are
a lots of common topics which have the same, or almost the same content on
each application help. So we built 'mother' pages of help which each and
other different applications help then are using by linking to them. Header
based tagging (we use XWiki syntax 2.1) is very user friendly for this
purpose. The problem is, there are slight variations in the content of the
text here and there between the applications.
An example:
There is a page explaining some settings of an application containing some
200 rows of text. Most, but not all of the rows are the same. I might then
like to do something like include the whole page in app #1 help, excluding
only rows 33, 52 and 55 from the page, but include them still to some other
app's help, and so on...
I imagine the above could be done with some smart tags, macros and links,
but as I am not a developer, so I can't do that and haven't found a
solution. A few years ago we used syntax 1.0, and if I remember right, there
was a possibility to include e.g. a sentence with tags, but not to exclude
anything inside the linked part of the text.
It is very irritating to copy and paste large amounts of text to different
pages with only slight differences between them. And then again, when the
'root' text has some change, e.g. a setting common to all apps changes, you
have go and edit each of the pages created with copy-paste. This could be
avoided if there was a way to include and exclude tagged text other than
just between the headings.

P.S. Congratulations for the 10-year old!
Dear Support
We are currently using XWiki Enterprise Manager 5.1 . From xwiki site there
mentined that "Since the version 5.2, the ability to create multiple wikis
in a single application is now bundled in the standard XWiki Enterprise.
That is why we do not support XWiki Enterprise Manager anymore." Also I can
see there is VERSION 5.2-MILESTONE-1 for XWiki Enterprise Manager.
So please let us know in future there will not be any release of XWiki
Enterprise Manager 5.2?
If not please how we can upgrade XWiki Enterprise Manager 5.1 to XWiki
Enterprise 5.2.1?
Can any one please advice us on it.
Thanks & Regards
Geo P.C.
Hi, All!
Looks like a bug in a Menu Application: if Menu Application installed on Main Wiki it uses Color Theme of Main Wiki in subwiki also, ignoring Color Themes of subwikis. I issued it in jira: http://jira.xwiki.org/browse/XE-1345
Does anyone know quick fix for this? Thanx in advance.
Kind regards,
Dmitry

Hello,I have been trying to install xwiki for a few days now on a redhat 6.4
system, and I face some problems.I have installed Apache/Tomcat and MySQL
first, downloaded xwiki 5.2.1 war package, and put it in
$TOMCAT_HOME/webapps folder.I could reach the "Distribution Wizard",
selected to skip, and reached the Main page. The issue is that I can't
import any .xar, simply because I don't have any possibility to do so. When
I hover over "Wiki" on the top menu, I don't have anything.I have also tried
to create a user and to log in, and I noticed some strange things :- I was

Hi,
We maintain a very valuable knowledge base about a rare syndrome Cornelia
de Lange syndrome.
What is the best strategy to display content in a website of other
organizations?
A normal iFrame will show all the XWiki skin elements while in this case
only Content needs to be shown.
No edit's, no display of tags, annotations, attachments...
Off course the inline links should work (when linking to XWiki.Pages)

Hi XWiki Devs/Community,
We're planning a deploy of XE on our Enterprise (a brazilian government
agency) as the main intranet tool, for about 400 heavy users (in thesis,
they'll generate a lot of content). We're sure that XE can handle it
smoothly and it will bring a LOT of help on the day-to-day work of our
office.
We're doing some optimizations and fine tunning for the deploy in
production. Meanwhile, we're facing some troubles with our
workstations's antivirus tools, which brings me some concerns about the
attachment files on the filesystems. Trying to address a potential
problem (users using attached files to spread infected files to other
users and, worst, other government agencies, which have also critical
mission like ours), I would like to use the same approach we use on our
other systems we've built at home: calling an AV engine (such as our
cluster of ClamAV servers) from the webapp (we already use some java API
for this, on our web apps) to scan every file being uploaded and before
being attached to the wiki, and show some message to the user, in case
of some trouble.
I've searched for some plugin or initiative about this, but couldn't
find any. Is there any going on? If not, from where can I start and what
should I put under consideration, in order to
guide our dev staff to plug it in xwiki's core as a plugin/extension?
Forgive myself in advance if this information is located somewhere on
the documentation and I couldn't find it.
Best Regards,

*RAMON GOMES BRANDÃO*
I'm just curious about brandname such as XWiki versus "generic" forename
such as Xwiki.
For example in languages I know (Latvian, English, Russian) any forename
(given name for person or dog, city or ship name, etc.) starts with
capital and then, if not all characters are capital, it follows with
small letters.
There are brandnames (mostly intentionally, to differ from "generic"
name) this rule is not followed: XWiki, iOS, PiTiVi, etc.
So, when I write about Xwiki:
1. I don't know it is spelled XWiki,
2. I'm too lazy to bother,
3. I intentionally spell it Xwiki, to not add disclaimer, that iOS or
XWiki or ... is a registered trademark (if is),
4. something else...
What do you think?
Valdis
Is there some trick to this? I've added color and font to the plugins list and to both the toolbar, but neither of these are displayed. Do I need to do something else?

Hi,
I have just started using XWiki, which I have deployed under Tomcat on my Ubuntu server. It seems to work ok, and I have been able to edit and add pages.
Now I have set everything to require registration - so I added the XWikiGuest user, and blocked all stuff - which seem to work great.
Now I would have added one page, and I would like this page to be viewed by unregistered users (e.g. the general public). So I added the "View" permissions for this page for unregistered users/XwikiGuest - but somehow it doesn't work - when trying to view this page while not signed in, I am still 302'ed to the registration/login page!
Any tips on how to solve this?
Thanks!

Hi, All!
Once upon a time it was a Wiki Manager. And it was a lis of ALL wikis in it.
There was also "xwiki" wiki, where into the page XWiki.XWikiServerXwiki one could change a lot of useful staff for the main wiki.
In the "old school wiki" I could set up aliases for main wiki, in the 5.2 there is no "xwiki" wiki in the list. Does anyone know how to get and change this information?
Kind regards,

Using Livetable macro, for anonymous user it shows entries with

With note under table:

Is it possible to show only accessible documents?

Hi xwiki-userlist,
I am new to xWiki and would like to deploy xwiki to my tomcat 7 using
JNDI and MySQL. While I think this is pretty standard, I am now really
stuck with the database since two days.
I am pretty sure that I have correctly configured the JNDI resource

deploying am completely different application. I also made sure that the
test application didn't contain the JDBC-Driver so that it had to take
the driver provided from the container.
Still I am getting this error message when I try to run xWiki with the

Hello,
Were there any database configuration changes between XWiki 4.2 and 5.2?
I'm trying to upgrade our XWiki installation, as usually configured
hibernate.cfg.xml to point to local MySQL database
(name='xwiki_52_innodb_utf8'):
<property
name="connection.url">jdbc:mysql://localhost/xwiki_52_innodb_utf8?useServerPrepStmts=false&useUnicode=true&characterEncoding=UTF-8</property>
<property name="connection.username">xwiki</property>
<property name="connection.password">xwiki</property>
<property
name="connection.driver_class">com.mysql.jdbc.Driver</property>
<property
name="dialect">org.hibernate.dialect.MySQL5InnoDBDialect</property>
<property name="dbcp.ps.maxActive">20</property>
<mapping resource="xwiki.hbm.xml"/>
<mapping resource="feeds.hbm.xml"/>
<mapping resource="activitystream.hbm.xml"/>
<mapping resource="instance.hbm.xml"/>
But when XWiki starts it fails with an error:
com.mysql.jdbc.exceptions.jdbc4.MySQLSyntaxErrorException: Access denied for
user 'xwiki'@'localhost' to database 'xwiki'
Is it still possible to specify database name different than xwiki?

Hi all,
I am interested in the Classes and objects feature. I managed to create
a class from a xwiki page and to add several properties. I also was able
to create some objects of this class.
My question is: how can I display the list of objects nicely scripting
with Velocity/groovy? Is there a standard binding to access the list of
objects?
Thank you in advance

Hi, All!
5.2 Brand new install + Short URLs with Tuckey.org plugin as described in
http://platform.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Main/ShortURLs#HUrlRewriteFilter
Short URLs work perfect, XWiki generates correct link in pages, BUT some links are genereated with /bin/ part still.
Quick search showed some places:
1. XWiki Logo
2. Attachments
3. "Welcome to your wiki" link in the Recent Changes Panel
Should it be considered as a bug?
Is there a reason NOT to bundle Tuckey's solution with standard XWiki distribution?
Kind regards,
Dmitry
Hi,
I've been using XWiki within my team at work and would like to expand
adoption of it across different groups. While doing research I was
thoroughly confused by the differences between Workspaces, SubWikis, Wikis,
multi-tenancy, etc...
What I would like to do is be able to run one instance of XWiki and be able
to create separate Wikis (in different schemas). Within each Wiki I'd like
to allow users to create their own Workspaces (I think I'm using that
correctly).
Example:
- IT Wiki
-- Bob's Workspace
-- Alice's Workspace
- Finance Wiki
-- Joe's Workspace
-- Jane's Workspace
I want to be able to keep the users separated between the IT Wiki and
Finance Wiki but allow shared users for the Workspaces under each of those
Wikis.
I think installing the Wiki Manager Application and Workspace Application
should do the trick. However, it sounds like Wiki Manager is the old way
of doing it and it's being deprecated.
Thanks in advance for any feedback.
It would be great to meet XWiki guys/gals there!
Cheers!

I would like to display data with an "AppWithinMinutes" (AWM), but I know
that the data wil have many, many columns (maybe 30 or 40 columns).
Normally, AWM will adjust the column width automaticly (which is fine when
you have only a few columns), but with many columns the width gets too small
:-(
Is there a way to "freeze" certain columns (the first 3 for example), and
let the user scroll between the remaining columns? This way, the column
width can remain "normal". This is a common practise when displaying data
with many columns (thinking about a DataGridView).
Is this possible with AWM?

I would like to create a collapsable sidemenu/panels for our wiki.
The "main area" should be maximized and the sidemenu should only be like
40px wide.
To see what I am trying to accomplish, create a new page and paste the
following code/text
*****
{{html wiki="true"}}
<div id="menu">
{{spoiler title="TOC"}}{{toc depth="2"/}}{{/spoiler}}
</div>
{{/html}}
= Chapter 1 =
Text
== Chapter 1.1 ==
Text
== Chapter 1.2 ==
Text
= Chapter 2 =
Text
= Chapter 3 =
Text
== Chapter 3.1 ==
Text
== Chapter 3.2 ==
Text
= Header 4 =
Text
= Header 5 =
Text
*****
Now add an XWiki.StyleSheetExtension to that page and add the following CSS
to it:
#menu
{
position: fixed;
right: 0;
top: 150px;
padding-left: 5px;
background-color: rgb(120,120,120);
border-top-left-radius: 10px;
border-bottom-left-radius: 10px;
z-index:999;
}
If you would refresh that page, you will see a "collapsable menu" (the TOC).
I would realy like to expand this and add more menu-items, preferably with
ICONS.
If anyone got any suggestions, I am all ears!
Thanks!

Hello!
The wiki is selfbus.myxwiki.org

I would be very happy if somebody has suggestions about how I could fix

I installed Bulletin Board Application on Xwiki5.1.
However, we see strange problems when I create a Category/Topic with special
characters in their names.
Category/Topic name with + symbol get created with wrong page names (e.g.
C++Programming becomes CProgramming)
Is it somehow related to http://jira.xwiki.org/browse/XWIKI-188?
Can this be fixed sometime soon, or is there any workaround?
I have posted this as a bug in http://jira.xwiki.org/browse/XBB-10. But, it
is not assigned to or responded by anyone since last 2 days.
Thanks and Regards,

Hi everybody ,
I have deployed my XWiki (version 3.5.1) with Tomcat and I have
currently a big problem : Tomcat crashes weekly and I can't find the
origin of the problem. I have searched a solution inside Tomcat's log
but there is nothing useful I could use to solve this. So I tried to
use javamelody in order to monitor my XWiki instance
(http://platform.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/AdminGuide/Monitoring). I can
have useful information with this tool, however when my Tomcat crashes,
I loose registered datas of java melody and so I can't know the
situation just before the crash.
So this is my question : is it possible to keep javamelody's data even
after a crash ?
Thanks!
Regards, Pierrick
Hello XWiki community,
I realized that my stats is not working. The data is showing 0 to all my columns in my "Stats.ActivityData" page.
I don't have idea how to troubleshoot it. I checked in my DB Oracle and the table of stats is being filled normally.
Thank you,
Danilo
I’m installing xwiki on linux machine with an oracle db.
I put xwiki directory into the Apache’s directory named ‘webapps’ and when
I run the ./start_xwiki.sh command, I receive this error :

I would like to mark the topics/questions that I have created as [SOLVED], so
I (and everybody else) can see which topics have been solved (and which
topics still need an answer).
Is this possible with the current Nabble forum?

Hello
I have registered as Username GavanCollett and would like to set up a private Wiki for hobby purposes. Could you provide me with some hosting space?
The server name should be "gavancollett"
Many thanks,
Gavan Collett
Hi !
I'd like to see this kind of feature in xwiki but I'm not able to find it ?
https://www.dokuwiki.org/config:signature
A button to insert a pre-formated signature with date. Would be very
useful to me, maybe to you too :)
Cheers
