Hi,
On of the goal we would like to achieve using XWiki is SSO integration
in relation to our openLDAP server, through LemonLDAP::NG
(http://www.lemonldap-ng.org/).
We have tried with success the extension at
http://extensions.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Extension/XWiki+Authenticator+He…
but we see a limitation here : it seems not possible to re-configure
this extension at run-time from the UI, it means that the instance
should be restarted when in the need to alter a configuration option
like xwiki.authentication.headers.groups_mapping (and fields_mapping too).
The same remark apply to other SSO extensions like Jasig CAS/SAML one.
What would be the implication in terms of development power to make
those configuration properties available at run-time ? Like it's done
within the LDAP Application for example.
For a start we don't necessarily need an UI/app but at least the
attributes somewhere available in object mode.
Another option I see is the possibility to achieve group mapping
directly from the LDAP instead of getting it from the headers. That
would lead to a combination of the LDAP authenticator and SSO (but at
the moment only one authclass can be used at a time).
Cheers,
Martin
Hi community,
Please help in the formation of the correct output export to PDF.
The problem is that the Cyrillic alphabet printed as hashtags ###.
Added fonts in the system folder but zero success. Checked
http://jira.xwiki.org/browse/XWIKI-2555 but also cannot find solution.
Thank,
Yuriy
Hello,
It is strange because my emails have a DKIM signature like here (piece of header from a mail I sent from my xwiki email to myself at another adress).
Is it sympa who's altering this signature?
Can I fix it (if it is "my fault")?
Thxs

By the way, all of
Pascal's and Julio's emails (and other yahoo
users)
end up in my spam folder because of
the broken DKIM signatures.

Hi,
I added a StyleSheetExtension object on a page. How do I know the title of
the currently viewed page? I have used the code below, but it is returning
the title of the page where the StyleSheetExtension object is
#if ($!doc.plainTitle == "Home")
.breadcrumb {display:none;}
#end
Thank you in advance,
Julio
I ran apt-get update on my wiki server, which upgraded XWiki to 8.3. Now
that the LDAP extension has been removed from the core, I can't login to
the wiki. How can I install the LDAP extension without wiki access?
Vincent,
XWiki is only listed as a Stack on StackShare not a Tool. If XWiki were
listed as a Tool, eXo for example could include XWiki as a Tool in their
Stack.

Hi Vincent,
I liked XWiki on AlternativeTo and shared it on Twitter.
You may also want to consider adding XWiki as a tool on
http://stackshare.io/.
Thanks,
Dylan

Hi everyone,
Just to let you know that on the 28th of October, there were 234 members of the xwiki users list who’ve been automatically disabled (ie they’re not going to receive mails). This is apparently caused by a change in Yahoo’s email policy:
<gumush(a)gmail.com>: host gmail-smtp-in.l.google.com[74.125.133.27] said:
550-5.7.1 Unauthenticated email from yahoo.com.br is not accepted due to
550-5.7.1 domain's DMARC policy. Please contact the administrator of
550-5.7.1 yahoo.com.br domain if this was a legitimate mail. Please visit
550-5.7.1 https://support.google.com/mail/answer/2451690 to learn about
the 550 5.7.1 DMARC initiative. o3si17254181wjx.109 - gsmtp (in reply to
end of DATA command)
So if you’re in that case, please contact Yahoo as mentioned in the message above.
Thanks
-Vincent
Hi,
How can I place an additional content (in a space) before a blog?
When I add a blog object (BlogClass), I can not put other content on the
editing page. In fact, I can put, but does not appear.
Thank you in advance
Hi,
Is this the cause of this xwiki sympa mail that I receive regulary?

Hi everyone,
Just to let you know that on the 28th of October, there were
234 members of the xwiki users list who’ve been
automatically disabled (ie they’re not going to receive
mails). This is apparently caused by a change in Yahoo’s
email policy:

Hi,
I need to move a lot (two thousand) Blog News (pages with Blog.BlogPostClass object) from one page to another. The source page has news pages, but has other type of pages. I need only move the pages that are Blog News. How I do?
Note: I am using the XWiki 7.4.4 (I migrated from 4.2).
Best regards,Julio
Hello,
How can I place an additional content (in a space) before a blog?
When I add a blog object (BlogClass), I can not put other content on the editing page. In fact, I can put, but does not appear.
Regards,Julio.
The XWiki development team is proud to announce the availability of XWiki
8.4 Release Candidate 1.
The highlights of this release are the new page type filter from the Create
Page form and the new configuration section for the CKEditor. Changing the
supported languages from the administration has been made easier with the
new language picker. Ordering the Application panel items is now possible
with simple drag & drop. Sub-wiki initialization is now asynchronous. As
usual the release also includes many bug fixes and smaller improvements.
You can download it here: http://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Main/Download
Make sure to review the release notes:

Hi,
We use statistic on our xwiki, but we need only statistic in xwikstatsdoc.
Is it possible to clean xwikistatvisit table ? (This table take large disk
space and have bad perfomance)
And if yes then for which period of time we must keep the data in the
xwikistatvisit for correctly filling xwikstatsdoc ?

There is an example on how to change TOC numbering: http://extensions.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Extension/TOC+Macro#HExample3:Di…
However, it does not work, and even the screenshot on that page does not display the expected result, namely "Level 2" with prefix "1.1"
Can you provide a working example and update the TOC macro documentation? Our desired result is like this: http://i.imgur.com/J1V7Z5n.png (as it was the default in mediawiki)

Hi,
I tried to install XWiki 8.3 WAR on Weblogic 12.2.1 but it failed on
XWikiJaxRsApplication because it extends the javax.ws.rs.core.Application
class and the container tries to set up this as a JAX-RS 2 servlet and of
course it not find the servlet configuration.
I'm unable to find any option to tell to the WLS to not use JAX-RS.
I have found this JIRA ticket <http://jira.xwiki.org/browse/XWIKI-12674> ,
but it helps nothing to solve this problem.
Do you have any idea/experience how to install XWiki on WLS 12.2.1?
Thanks, Zoltán.

hum IMO we must add an exemple with style too. Why? because on syntax page I'm pretty sur everyone use Ctrl+F: "style" (search feature in web browser) and next to find the correct syntax.
WDYT?
yes of course.
I wanted add some CSS class in blog code.
Anyway I will PR today and I'm pretty sure than xwiki commiters will make attention with this. :-)

Pascal,
I advise you not to use the
style tag in HTML (or WIKI code for that
matter) - only as a last resort. It is good
practice to separate
structure from
presentation. W3C made a rather comprehensive explanation
on this, see link below.
https://www.w3.org/2001/tag/doc/contentPresentation-26.html
It may seem like a little
cumbersome now, but it will help you in the end.

Ok thxs but my problem is that I can not insert a <span>anything</span> in front of $message :-/
There are <p> inserted I wonder why when it is a div (a bug?) or </spam> is at the wrong place.
I didn't manage to have this simple result:
<div class="plainmessage publish-message">
<p><span class="glyphicon glyphicon-globe"></span> This article was published on 17/10/2016 16:47:06</p>
</div>
(% class="plainmessage publish-message" %)((((% class="glyphicon glyphicon-globe" %)$message)))
<div class="plainmessage publish-message">
<p>
<span class="glyphicon glyphicon-globe">This article was published on 17/10/2016 16:47:06</span>
</p>
</div>
=> span inserted BUT I don't want end of span at the end of the $message
(% class="glyphicon glyphicon-globe" %) (% class="plainmessage publish-message" %)((($message)))
<span class="glyphicon glyphicon-globe"> </span>
</p>
<div class="plainmessage publish-message">
<p>This article was published on 20/10/2016 08:18:06</p>
</div>
=> span inserted BUT I don't want </p> between span and div . publish-message
I upgraded from 8.1 to 8.2.1 this afternoon and the WYSIWYG editor just spins and never loads. I ran into this issue earlier and it was an issue using NGINX as an SSL reverse proxy which was resolved by changing the NGINX config (http://lists.xwiki.org/pipermail/users/2016-July/033360.html). The NGINX config wasn't changed during the upgrade so this seems to be something else. I've checked the logs and nothing stands out as being related.
I do get this in my JavaScript console:

Hi XWiki community,
Last year the XWiki community had a booth at FOSDEM with the Tiki and DokuWiki communities. It was really fun:
* http://www.xwiki.com/en/Blog/fosdem-2016-from-behind-the-stand-table
* https://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Blog/XWikiatFOSDEM2016
We’d like to reiterate this for FOSDEM 2017 (4 & 5 February 2017).
It’s a great chance to meet some XWiki users and developers.
We also need some volunteers to help man the XWiki community booth, if some of you are interested!
See https://tiki.org/TikiFestFosdem2017 for details and organisation.
So who’s going to FOSDEM 2017? And who would be interested in manning the XWiki booth with other xwikiers?
Thanks

Hello!
I have successfully installed xwiki on Ubuntu 16.06 Server as a deb
package using Java JDK instead of JRE. It seemed to be working fine.
I've been able to open xwiki without any problems.
Then I want to put /manager app for tomcat7 engine. I used apt-get for
this task. Now I can use /manager app, but when I'm trying to open xwiki
I get this error:
XWiki initialization failed!

display
<div class="plainmessage publish-message">

<p>This article was published on 17/10/2016 16:47:06</p>

Have you got a solution?

I'm the only one that knows how to update it, so I know it can't be the former, but the latter, I'm not sure what I could have made a mistake on. Since the DW did not launch initially, plus this latest symptom, I guess something did go wrong. My process is pretty simple, and the only thing we modify is the config files in the WEB-INF folder (plus add the MySQL driver). Would this be a config file mistake or something else?

you upgraded the WAR and it think you still have 8.2.1 WAR.
The Extension update step is displayed when it find invalid extension

anything if it cannot find valid upgrade to that invalid extension).

Our documentation subwiki is multilingual, english and german.
Unfortunately, at the moment only some pages are translated, some exist in
german only, some in english only (doh!).
If a user is using german (default) as interface language, and searches for
a page what only exists in english, the page is not found. You have to
selected "english" unter language in the advanced search options.
We noticed that deleting the language setting of a page results in the page
beeing found in either language, it is listet as "No Language" in the search
results.
Is this the recommanded approach?
Thanks.

Hi XWiki users,
Recently (in XWiki 8.2) we’ve changed the home page content to try to make it a nicer introduction to XWiki and to make it simpler for users to edit it and change it to their liking.
Right now it’s translated only in 3 languages: English, French and Catalan.
We need your help to translate it all other languages!
To do so, you need to register an account on http://l10n.xwiki.org/ and then you can go to http://l10n.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Platform/MainWebHome and select the language you wish to translate the page in.
For example in Danish that will generate the following URL:
http://l10n.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Platform/MainWebHome?language=da
Once on that page you can click “View all” for example and start translating. For ex for the Danish language you’ll get to http://l10n.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Platform/MainWebHome?action=viewall&la…
Don’t forget to translate both the Content and the Title.
Thanks a lot for your help! We’ll credit you in the next release notes if you provide a translation.
Let us know in reply to this message whenever you’ve added a new language for the home page!
Thanks

Hello! I'm trying to integrate bpmn-js into my xWiki application.
I istalled bpmn-js via bower into xWiki resource folder and then i created a
page with this content:
When the page loads (and the javascript libs are imported) I get some errors
about prototype.js and requirejs (http://pastie.org/9946255). How can I fix
this problem??

I'm trying to use the macro from the Attachment Application.

Issue is that the image file name; selected by the picker, is stored in the property picture1 without the page reference.
Because we have provided a targetdocname.
The documentation:
targetdocname: An optional reference to a document to use as the source (and target) for the attachments to display. By default the current document is used.
So we want stored in picture1 a string
Photos.CdLSnl(a)picture.jpg
But it stores:
picture.jpg
We need the complete document and filename since our application is using multiple displayers, not only the macro version

Hi,
We have this javascript function
function getStats(event) {
var url = "$xwiki.getURL('cdlsDashboard.statsGlobal', 'view')?xpage=plain&outputSyntax=plain";
request(url, setStats, event);
}
Since migration to version 8 the browser console shows a strange get function and resulting error:
cdlsworld.devxwiki.com/xwiki/bin/view/cdlsDashboard/$xwiki.getURL('cdlsDashboard.statsGlobal',%20'view')
It looks like the velocity is not based before creating a javascript?
I've had similar in a stylesheet extension
Is something changed in version XWiki 8 (we came from 6.4.x)?

With xwiki 8.3 the new children marcro is available, something we were
waiting for. Unfortunately the macro does not have any configuration
parameters at the moment.
Currently we use the following snippet in a huge number of ours pages to
display child-documents:
because translations and attachments are unnecessary for our navigation. But
inserting this code requires switching to sourcecode in ckeditor, which does
not work correctly in Internet Explorer.
Are there plans to extend the children macro to enable hiding translations
and attachments? This would make it possible for our users to use this macro
instead via macro GUI of ckeditor.
Otherwise maybe we need to start looking into extension development and do
it ourselves.
Thank you

Hi,
Long time user, very infrequent poster...
I'm looking for something for users of our xwiki to create checklists
as something akin to a template, and then use the created checklist
template, saving the completed checklist as a page.
Any suggestions would be welcomed.
Cheers
When in Velocity generating HTML
velocity
html
#foreaech()
#if(display instead of include is required)

#else
#includeInContext(page that does not require display)
#end

What is the velocity macro (or code snippet) to make it work?
As documented the display or include does not work from within the velocity and/or html macro. Documentation could maybe be improved by adding what to do when this calling from within Velocity/html is required

Hello,
About my "I upgraded my xwiki 7.0.1 to xwiki 8.2.1" episode, I have a new question (last one I hope).
On Xwiki 7.0.1 some users modify parent/page (breadcrumb path) but when I upgraded to xwiki 8.2.1, this breadcrumb are lost because the breadcrumb show now the true emplacement of current page.
I have some question about it:
- For all pages with breadcrumb modified, I must convert manually terminale "parent"page in none terminale page ?
- how can I retrieve these pages with breadcrumb modified ?
- when I upgrade xwiki the old breadcrumb information is lost (overwrited by new one)?
Thxs.

The XWiki development team is proud to announce the availability of XWiki
Enterprise 8.3.
This release introduces Recommended Extensions both on extensions.xwiki.org
and inside the Extension Manager. Other changes are page suggestions for
non-existing page, exporting child pages in XAR and HTML formats and many
more improvements. For developers, we added visibility and creation
restrictions on template providers and also Velocity templates can be
provided inside a JAR extension.
You can download it here: http://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Main/Download

Hello,
I have problem with 8.2.1 version of xwiki installed on Ubuntu 16.04.
I was setting the rights in xwiki and probably made a mistake, because now
getting message "Failed to execute the [velocity] macro. Cause:[The
execution of the [velocity] script macro is not allowed. Check the rights of
its last author or the parameters if it's rendered from another script.].
Click on this message for details."
*I enabled superadmin account and rebooted, but I see the same error
messages on all panels under superadmin account.* I have no possibility to
access rights settings - no pannels running, I have everywhere the red
messages.
Is any possibility to repair it?
Thank a lot.

Addon:
If someone use bootstrap/tabs (like me):
http://getbootstrap.com/components/#nav-tabs
since xwiki 8.2/jquery 2.2.2
https://github.com/jquery/jquery-migrate/issues/140
"We've removed unofficial "support" for selectors with unquoted attribute values where it has to be quoted, like a[href=#] in jQuery 2.2.0/1.12.0."
Ok I resolve the problem (I tested with xar example found here: http://jira.xwiki.org/browse/XWIKI-11675 )
I must add 'bootstrap' in require function
I must replace
require(['jquery'], function ($) {
by
require(['jquery', 'bootstrap'], function ($) {
Here my JS code to load tooltips
require(['jquery', 'bootstrap'], function ($) {
$(function () {
$('[data-toggle="tooltip"]').tooltip()
})
});
It is strange because:
1- my old tooltip code working well on xwiki 7.0.1 but not on 8.2.1
2- source page containing:
shim: {
'bootstrap' : ['jquery'],
who's specify dependencies for jQuery plugins
To conclude, I will fix my JS but I don't know if I must open a regression jira issue ?

Hello,
I upgraded xwiki 7.0.1 to 8.2.1 but it seem that
bootstrap/tooltip doesn't work anymore.
I use bootstrap to show tooltip:
https://bootstrapdocs.com/v3.3.6/docs/javascript/#tooltips
In my page I paste this code:
html
<button type="button" class="btn btn-default" data-toggle="tooltip"
data-placement="right" title="Tooltip on right">Tooltip on right</button>

and add a JSX object with jquery to call tooltip:
require(['jquery'], function ($) {
$(function () {
$('[data-toggle="tooltip"]').tooltip()
})
});
NB: if I paste this code:
html
<script type="text/javascript"
src="/xwiki/webjars/wiki%3Axwiki/jquery/2.2.2/jquery.min.js?r=1"></script>
<script type="text/javascript"
src="/xwiki/webjars/wiki%3Axwiki/bootstrap/3.3.6/js/bootstrap.min.js?r=1"></script>
<button type="button" class="btn btn-default" data-toggle="tooltip"
data-placement="right" title="Tooltip on right">Tooltip on right</button>

tooltip working well.
I tested on a page from xwiki 7.0.1 and exported on jetty package 8.2.1
but I didn't found the error in HTML source.
Thxs for any help

I represent a French non-profit association in the video games.
We organize LAN party, rallies players in video games and help other
non-profit organizations by lending of equipment (electrical, network,
server, scene).
We have more and more members and we would like to create a wiki for all
new members to quickly find information.
Here is the website of the association: http://lanalliance.org
Here is the website of the competition circuit we organize:
http://mastersjeuvideo.org
I wanted to know if we could have a xwiki community.
I remain at your disposal for any information.
Sorry for my English.
Thank you very much !

Right I agree ACL is still in WebPreference page but I understand what Marius said: children pages in a space (a page on the xwiki root) have space.webhome (and not space.WebPreference) for parent...

I understand that: If you set rights access on Encyclopédie.WebPreference page:
- "rights: page & children" are applied on children pages ... and Encyclopédie.WebHome!
-" rights on page" are applied on Encyclopédie.WebHome (XWiki.XWikiRights objects are added)
Then I don't know which rights are applied if "rights: page & children" and "rights on page" are different?
I suppose that "rights: page & children" must be "rights: children pages" instead ?
> > -
> Pascal, did you set the rights manually on that page?
On xWiki 7.0.1, yes Global xwiki right and encyclopédie space rigt, then I upgrade xwiki to 8.2.1 and I encoutered the problem
> > - Were the rights set as space rights
> before and were wrongly migrated/kept
> >
> on the wrong document?
Previous rights are well migrated but my user couldn't create page anymore.
To resolve my problem I apply again correct rights without success. But during my chat with Thomas, we saw that is is not a right access the problem: rights are correctly applied but "+" icone is not displayed: http://jira.xwiki.org/browse/XWIKI-13699
Thxs for your answers but my ACL doesn't work on my 8.2.1.
Users can not create new page or modify page on my encyclopédie space...
Here some ACL screenshot:
ACL on main wiki: https://snag.gy/dWbzZR.jpg
ACL on Encyclopédie space (on encyclopédie page and children)
https://snag.gy/vFArI1.jpg
(I tested with XwikiAllGroup but my with my editor group i have the same problem)
My user to test:

Here my user view: https://snag.gy/6IeM4u.jpg
If someone can see what I'm wrong?
Thxs.

Hi,
We have migrated to xwiki 8.2.1 in a docker environment. Everything is working as a charm. However: When registerring a user (as an admin), I get an error. Investigating this only gives me results that date from 2013 but nothing recent. I am not sure how to proceed. The error is:

Br,

Hello,
After upgrading my xwiki 7.0.1 to 8.2.1, i encoutered another issue: xwiki search feature doesn't work anymore.
I use Tomcat 8.0.33 + Postrgesqk 9.3 and attachments in file system and connected with Admin account.
On page ./bin/view/Main/Search?text=test&f_type=DOCUMENT&f_locale=fr&f_locale=&r=1 , I have this ugly error message displayed:
"Failed to execute the [velocity] macro. Cause: [The resolver parameter doesn't contain an Entity Reference of type [SPACE]]. Click on this message for details."
First my catalina.out show this:
"2016-10-04 10:45:00,116 [XWiki initialization] WARN onfiguredQueryExecutorProvider - Could not find a QueryExecutor with hint [hibernate] which is the hint for the storage engine, defined in your XWiki configuration under the [xwiki.store.main.hint] property. The default QueryExecutor will be used instead. Reason: [ComponentLookupException: Can't find descriptor for the component [role = [interface org.xwiki.query.QueryExecutor] hint = [hibernate]]]"
then I disabled this line in "WEB-INF/xwiki.cfg"
# test xwiki.store.main.hint=hibernate
because http://xwiki.markmail.org/message/q4zgcgki5ppuekwb?q=The+default+QueryExecu…
This workaround removed "Could not find a QueryExecutor with hint [hibernate] which is the hint for the storage engine" message in log but it doesn't resolve my probem (same error message:The resolver parameter doesn't contain an Entity Reference of type [SPACE]]. )
Here a piece of my catalina.out, if someone already found a fix.
Thxs for any help

I have the preview (eye) icon showing up in a page whenever I put an attachment link there. I would like to remove it. I don't want to remove the entire extension, as it is useful in the attachments area, but I find it's not helpful within the text of the page. I seem to remember configuring it to be there, but cannot remember where that was to get rid of it.
Help!

Hello,
I've create my own sheep for a class.
But if i set it as default, i can't fill in the fields.
Si i kept the default one to fill in all the fields and after add manually
the custom sheet to display the page.
When i try to edit the page, i can't change anything
So i need to remove the "custom" sheet , modify the page and replace it
after...
Little boring.
So, my question is :
is it possible to keep the default sheet when i create a new page / edit an
existing page and when i save it, change the sheet with the custom.
Here is the code of the default sheet , i've try to add the custom sheet
when saving the page, but the sheet value stay empty .... :(

$obj.set("Sheet","test.testinfraconfig Sheet1")
$doc.save()

And for edition mode, what can i do ?

Hi All,
I am currently using XWiki 4.2 war deployed on apache-tomcat and also using MySQL DB. I am using XWiki clustered 2 based on network events distribution. I am also using A multi-tenant setup ( "virtual mode", "multi-wiki" or "farm mode") which allows us to have several wikis running on the same XWiki instance (i.e. in the same JVM). I also configured Scheduled jobs to empty trash and getting it triggered via cron expression.
I am facing serious performance issue as Xwiki application has become very slow and frequently results in timeout.
To resolve the performance issue I would like to migrate my XWiki application from version 4.2 to 8.2.1.
Is it a good decision? If now which version can be relatively cater more performance? Also if anyone can share the high level steps which must be followed while migration, would be great help.
Thanks & Regards,
Piyush

For other Class you said. Then annotation issue is fixed too in 8.3 version? (I didn't found the issue)

To edit user profil information (e.g. the profile picture), it seems you need to have admin rights, if the profile is not your own.
Since the profiles reside in the xwiki space (a subspace would have been nice), it's I can't allow admin rights on that space. How may we achive that specific users can edit all user profiles withouth giving them admin rights in xwiki space?
Thx

thxs You are right I didn't saw the relation between CKEditor and annotation HTML code.
thxs Vincent about your issue and discussion
Hello,
I tested two upgrades of my xwiki 7.0.1 to 8.2.1 and I have same strange problem in new version:
- FCKEditor is launched at all textarea elements, ie: on "Administer xwiki" page:
https://snag.gy/M5gheJ.jpg
- when I use "annotation", input field is filled with HTML code instead of empty:
https://snag.gy/3dxoIK.jpg
Here HTML code in annotation input field:

If someone have an idea or already fixed theses problems?
Thxs.

I was testing with a few user accounts and found that users in a specific
group had admin rights even though they weren't in the XWikiAdminGroup and
the group they were in did not have Admin rights checked. After some trial
and error I found that removing the Program right removed Admin rights as
well.
Is this the expected behavior? I just upgraded to 8.2.1, but this might have
been the case before and I just hadn't noticed.
Thanks,
Jared

We are running xwiki 8.2.1 on tomcat using a postgresql database. In your performance guide is a link to http://platform.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/AdminGuide/Database+Administration
So for our installation, we have to create the indexes in section "Indexes for XWiki Enterprise versions after 4.3", more specifically
1. the indexes found in the blue information message (from xws_number till xda_docid1), IF hibernate has not created them automatically
2. and the indexes in the grey area (xwl_value till ase_param5)
Is this correct? Thank you.

Hi,
I have this class:
#set( $participationClassName = "WaihonaCode.waihonapediaResearchParticipationClass" )
Class properties
researchparticipation.family (family: List of Users)
researchparticipation.research (research: Database List)
researchparticipation.participate (participate: Boolean)
researchparticipation.datasend (datasend: Boolean)
I have this XWQL:
#set( $qParticipations = "from doc.object('$participationClassName') as participation where doc.fullName <> 'waihonapediaResearchParticipationTemplate' and participation.research = :thisresearch" and participation.family = :thisUser)
I'm getting velocity error:
Caused by: org.hibernate.QueryException: could not resolve property: research of: com.xpn.xwiki.objects.BaseObject [ select doc.fullName from com.xpn.xwiki.doc.XWikiDocument as doc , com.xpn.xwiki.objects.BaseObject as participation where
When doing similar on a class where class properties are of type string I have no Issues?
What should I do with these properties: List of Users (always only 1) and Database List (always only 1)?

I'm in the process of setting up LDAP authentication. In the process I
created a few groups that are no longer needed. The groups disappear from
the list when I click the red X, but they always reappear the next time I
view the list of groups.
Is there something else I should be doing to delete groups?
Thanks,

Hi All,
I am currently using XWiki 4.2 war deployed on apache-tomcat and also using MySQL DB.

Hi,
Is it possible to setup multiple Task Managers?For our Wiki we have various teams that use it and each would like its own task manager. I have had a look around and can't see any option to do this within the extension itself but wondered if I am missing something.

Hi XWiki Team,
I'm trying to design a new skin based on flaming to attend our company's use cases (with XE 8.x) and we were required to fix the top menu divs (for instance, the menuview div and the headerglobal div), as well as, if possible, side panels, while scrooling the page content. The side panels div shoud also be scroolabe, when the elements overflow the viewport.
I could not achieve any success overriding some flamingo's CSS and trying to fix elements with position CSS statement. How is the best way to achieve that using a new skin approach? I won't also forget to be responsible for small screens, so fixing side panels and top menu is not a good idea. How is the best way to deal with this?

Hello all,
I just started with xwiki and i've some trouble to access to object from
another page.
I don't know if what i'm doing is the best way to do it or not.
First i'll explain what i would like to do, and after explain which way i've
choose to do it.
So, i would like to create a "reference" page.
I mean in this page create a table with all the datas i need for ex :
*PAGE CONFIG :*
|IP|HOSTNAME|ROLE
192.168.0.1|ROUTER|WAN
192.168.0.2|FIREWALL|FIREWALL
192.168.0.3|SERVER1|AD/DC
192.168.0.4|SERVER2|DNS1
192.168.0.5|SERVER3|DNS2
....
Then i create differents FAQ pages where i would like to insert info as
"connect on DNS1 (ip : 192.168.0.4)"....
But if one day, the ip adress or hostname change (for some reason..) i just
have to change the data in the page CONFIG and automatically will be changed
on all other pages. Like that no need to edit all pages ...
So, what i've done...
Probably not the best way to do it.
I've create a page with class and object + template.
It create for each server a new page with all info i need.
so i've for example :
*PAGE IP : *
IP : 192.168.0.1
HOSTNAME : ROUTER
ROLE : WAN
*PAGE FIREWALL : *
IP : 192.168.0.2
HOSTNAME : FIREWALL
ROLE : FIREWALL
... for all other page
Now, what i'm looking for is on an other page :
*PAGE FAQ 1 *
access to the object of the page FIREWALL and display the content of the
object.
I can display the object of the own page but not from another page.
Could you help me in this task plz
my code : i don't know how refer the object of the specific page
#set($object = $doc.getObject('test.XWikiTestClass'))
$object.display('IP', 'view')
$object.display('HOSTNAME', 'view')
$object.display('ROLE', 'view')
Regards

Correct and here is the content of those images (forgot this mailing list does not distribute images):
the links appear like this in the Wiki editor:
Tickets>>Main.Intranet.Tickets
Search results appear like this:
Main.Intranet.Tickets
Located in Home » Main.Intranet.Tickets » WebHome

the link Main.Intranet.Tickets takes me to this page:

Subject: Nested Pages - Search Links Not Working
So we are now starting to change all of the our pages to Nested. When linking to Nested pages in the page themselves, the links appear like this in the WYSIWYG editor:
Tickets>>Main.Intranet.Tickets
but when saved are converted to this:
<a href="/xwiki/bin/view/Main/Intranet/Tickets/">Tickets</a>
However, Search results are broken. They appear like this:
Those do not work as the link Main.Intranet.Tickets takes me to this page:
I’ve tried re-indexing, but that does not help.

We have just migrated from 6.4 to 8.2.x
A page holding a UIEXtension object has a parameter:
icon=image:cdlsServices.cdlsNews@nw-news-icon.png
In a panel we display the pages holding these UIExtension objects
To display the image we use:
#set($icon = $services.rendering.render($services.rendering.parse("image:${params.icon}", 'xwiki/2.1'), 'xhtml/1.0'))
It used to generate a string:
xwiki/bin/download/cdlsServices/cdlsNews/nw-news-icon.png
But after migration it generates:
xwiki/bin/download/cdlsServices/cdlsNews/WebHome/nw-news-icon.png
(notice the WebHome part...)
The browser reports that it can not find the image!. When going to the attached image and showing it:
xwiki/bin/download/cdlsServices/cdlsNews/nw-news-icon.png
And this url display's the image.
I guess there are multiple paths to a solution here?
- Can I change the page holding the UIExtension to a terminal page? How?
- different use of rendering services?
- ....???

Hi Everyone,
I've been testing XWiki for a few days and there are several problems with
both GWT and CKEditor editors.
With the CKEditor:
1. In 95% of cases the tree view button in the "add link" dialog is not
working. In the google developer console I see the following messages when
opening the editor:
tree.js:1 Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected token <
hierarchy.js:1 Uncaught TypeError: b is not a function
Seems like in Chrome that happens more often then in Firefox. Tried both
production-like WAR installation and the versions from the "graphical
installer for all platfroms" - both 8.2 and 8.3-M1.
2. Sometimes the editor just does not show up at all - the editor load
progress indicator inside the page is rotating and nothing happens. Could
not find and error messages. Seems that this does not depend on any
particular page contents - sometimes it happens, sometimes not. Tried
cleaning the browser cache, but that did not help.
3. The similar problem with the "source" button. Very often it just shows
the empty page. If I click it about 5 times on/off then sometimes the
contents finally appears, but sometimes I get the raw HTML contents of the
whole current page inside the text box.
After giving up with CKEditor I tried the GWT editor (although I believe
that since the CKEditor became the default one, the GWT might soon became
deprecated).
But here I met another problem: if I format any cell in a table with either
"forecolor" or "backcolor" the removeformat command does not remove these
colors. It only works if I switch to the source and put a space between '|'
and '(%'.
I'm really frustrated, because the table color formating is one of the main
reasons I started looking for a new wiki engine for our company and after
spending almost two weeks on the evaluation of different products I came to
the conclusion that XWiki is currently the best one around.
So any help would be very appreciated.

Probably easy for someone familiar with API.
How can I display TOC from other page? Played with include, display,
context but none gives results. ( display is close if it had
original page as a context instead of "new".) All I get is heading and empty
(or current page) TOC.
There must be a way with some velocity based rendering and cropping specific
header but have no idea how.
Thanks

Our Advanced box in the flamingo color theme is getting pretty Big (But it works !)
But would it be possible to attach less files to the color theme page and adding something like
@import("....waihonabuttons.less") in the advanced box of the color theme?
What would I need in the .... part of the filename?

http://jira.xwiki.org/browse/XWIKI-13148
Is there any switch to make non-existent links create sibling pages rather
then children?
We are trying to use xwiki as a wiki. Meaning we have many terms that
interlinks between each other. Atm. it hits "almost unusable" barrier :/
Using Ecaterina Moraru (Valica) example:
TestMain
TestMain1
TestMain2 - new link
results in:
http://localhost:8080/xwiki/bin/view/Main/TestMain/http://localhost:8080/xwiki/bin/view/Main/TestMain1/http://localhost:8080/xwiki/bin/view/Main/TestMain1/TestMain2/
In this case TestMain2 cannot use TestMain nor TestMain1 links
(another great inconvenient for "wiki", but let's put that one aside). Given
there is no parent linking, we need to use absolute path for any and all
links that actually goes to other branches, which is inconvenient on its
own. But with unrestricted "create new links as children by default" it
means hell.
Even worse, creating new page from link doesn't offer any choice of
correcting parent, so atm. non-existent links are liability because they
must not be under no circumstances clicked or they create unwanted children
where no links will work.
And to extend the bad things.. we use templates. There are more of them so
we need to restrict templates just to specific departments they are meant
for. But template provider's visibility restriction seems absolute. It
doesn't extend to children of checked parent. Which is also bad, because we
cannot even create children easily as they won't see templates they need to.
But it also means TestMain2 from above example cannot even be created
using template because with "always child link" it doesn't see templates
defined for Main.
I tried to make TestMain1 terminal page even if it's not recommended
(nor wanted really) but it didn't help. TestMain2 is still offered as
TestMain1/TestMain2/WebHome. And since it's a child it won't see
templates defined for Main even when it should because we need templates
for entire branch, without the need to manually administrate every new
nested page created so its pages can use templates as well.
Any way out of it? Config param to make new links siblings and
.TestPage1 for explicit child would solve the worst problems. Offering
the same dialog as for new pages so parent could be fixed manually each time
would at least help. But links are already pretty hard to use (again, for a
wiki; namely anchors and pages from other branches) to make it even harder
(with something like mandatory ..link added to every link there is)
Using v.8.0

The watchlist mail notifications we are receiving from our xwiki server have hyperlinks to the corresponding pages, but the link starts with "http://localhost/" as opposed to the actual server hostname.
How may we fix this?

Hi,
I have XWiki running in a test environment, and want to move to another
server for production. Currently I have deployed it by extracting the war
file in a jetty server and a mysql database, and there are some extensions
installed using the extension manager. To migrate to another server, is it
sufficient to migrate the database and use a new war file in the new
server, do I need to use the same xwiki folder inside webapps?
In other words, does installing extensions add files to the file system?
Thanks

Hello,
I am a new user of XWiki and am just starting to explore its functionality. I've searched for an answer this question but haven't found anything yet.
I have created an application (which allows me to record details of requests received from other parts of my organisation), and have entries displayed in a livetable. Is there a way of adding a counter or unique ID field to the application and livetable display? This would make it much easier to refer back and find entries. I can't see a "doc." property that would enable me to do this.
Many thanks in advance for any assistance.

Installed XWiki Enterprise 8.2.1 on Ubuntu Server 14.04 LTS.
I did a lot of research after 4 previous failed installation attempts.
Opted to choose the Filesystem Storage option from the beginning since we
need to host files larger than 30MB. I followed these instructions:
http://platform.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/AdminGuide/Attachments#HFilesystem…
Everytime I start xwiki, I am brought through the Distribution Wizard and
prompted to basically install XWiki again. Sometimes I'm not prompted, but
most images are not displayed.
In Tomcat7 - JAVA_HOME=/usr/lib/jvm/java-8-oracle
Made changes to xwiki.properties file
environment.permanentDirectory=/etc/tomcat7/data
Made changes to xwiki.cfg (and made sure they weren't commented out):
xwiki.store.attachment.hint=file
xwiki.store.attachment.versioning.hint=file
xwiki.store.attachment.recyclebin.hint=file
Due to this bug: http://jira.xwiki.org/browse/XWIKI-9065, I changed the
value in xwiki.cfg for:
storage.attachment.recyclebin=0
My gut is telling me that I need to use this
http://snippets.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Extension/Filesystem+Attachment+Po…
, but I can't because the attachment is no longer available.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. If you need more info, please let me
know.

Hi,
I am trying out XWiki for my work IT dept. I have previously used MediaWiki
and I'm liking XWiki so far. Doing some basic configuration before I demo
it to my group. Can someone explain how to add a left side navigation to all
pages? If it's possible to have it auto-generate (index) pages in the wiki
and create the menu, please share ideas how I would go about doing that.
Cheers,
-Chris
