[xwiki-users] Problems deleting Blog-space

Caroline, the adress users(a)xwiki.org is perfectly fine. I got no idea who Bruno Neves is, but my best guess is that there's something wrong with your email-account / mailserver - you might want to talk to your mail-admin to get things sorted out or simply get an GMail-account. Also, I see that you reply to a mailing-list-digest. You might want to simply write a mail to users(a)xwiki.org, enter a meaningful subject, and there you go. Alternativly, simply reply to this mail and make sure, that the receiver is not rc46fi(a)googlemail.com (that's me) but users(a)xwiki.org. If a simple reply just puts my email-adress into the receiver-field, you might want to try out the "reply-all" function of your email-program and remove all receivers but users(a)xwiki.org. Coming back to your question: Did you run the velocity-macro mentioned in the link I sent you? If this macro doesn't work, I'm out of any ideas. hi gregor, i'm sorry to have posted it twice but i don't understand each time i send an email to "users(a)wiki.org" i get an email back : /"Sorry. [xwiki-users] *Xwiki issues to delete "blog" space & renaming a space*

Hello, I have installed Xwiki for my company, and wanted to disable the "blog". It seemed that I cannot do that so I decided to *delete the blog space. * I have read that in order to delete a whole space I have to delete all files in it so I did it, but the blog space is still there, empty with a "?" shown at the end. I have searched through the internet and found someone had the same problem as me. The answer of the admin was : "The reason is that there are some hidden documents in some spaces (like in the Blog space for example). We need to fix this. In the meantime, one solution (which is a pain I agree) is to go to that hidden page (you can use Ctrl + M to navigate) and delete it from there." So I wanted to delete those hidden files but I can't find them :S Can someone explain me how to show the hidden files and delete them ? I can't understand where to go and use Ctrl+M to navigate :S I have an other issue : *I tried to rename a space but didn't succeed *:S I have searched through the internet adn found this piece of information : "If you want to rename a full space, see the Space Rename Snippet.." [xwiki-users] Migration from 1.4 to 2.3

I have a wiki farm I want to upgrade to the curreent release. I've searched the forum. I've read the applicable release notes. I'm not able to find any info on whether migration is supported from a version 1.X to 2.X. Can I move straight from 1.4 to 2.3 or do I need to apply some intermediate steps? The one area that confuses me with Xwiki is the relationships between the wiki manager and the enterprise wiki. I'm missing the big picture. [xwiki-users] Can't delete attachment

Hello, I am having a problem with one specific page of my XWIKI installation. There are 4 attachments in that page. When trying to add any other one, I am getting the following error: WARN internal.DefaultWikiService - Failed to get attachment: FormationServeur.doc not found. So I decided that I would delete the existing document, delete the page and recreate it. However, when I try to delete the existing document, I get this error and the document is not deleted: WARN .XWikiHibernateAttachmentStore - Error loading attachment content when deleting attachment TPOOn-ProjectTeamMeetingAgenda-2010-05-11.doc of doc Telephony Provisioning Optimisation.PIT Meetings and Minutes I found a previous conversation in December 2009 saying that it was a bug in version 2.1. However, I am using XWiki Enterprise 2.3.28602. Please let me know what could have caused this bug and how I can clean that page up and redo it. Hi, I have a this question: is there a way to make annotation feature work in a virtual wiki environment? Suppose new xem 2.3 installation for the farm (and in the main wiki the annotations work!) and a number of wikis with xe 2.3 xar files imported. If the answer is yes, please let me know how. If it is no, I think it should be pointed out somewhere in the feature list of 2.3 version, or in the release notes. Instead, if it is supposed to work, but it doesn't, there is a bug. Hello, I am trying to set up XWiki on my company's intranet, and have stumbled into some problems with the configuration steps. Initially I'm setting things up locally on my Windows XP desktop to test it out and find out what I need to configure to get it running for production. Hopefully we will be able to install this on a linux server more easily. Hi In our organisation we are looking to implement Xwiki, my choice. A discussion came up about manging how information gets stored and linking it. A discussion came up about managing the information written to the wiki leading to the use of ontologies to determine what data the business has. What I want to know is what does Xwiki or the wider community have to handle Ontologies and semantic web planning and organisation. One of the ideas being discussed is the idea of having the ontologies as part of the Wiki to allow people to determine where and how to link information when creating documents. I found a German site on semantic web that seems to have Xwiki in its sights but I didn't locate the actual pieces to install, although it does look good in the screen shots. http://www.corporate-semantic-web.de/technologies.html Any assistance is appreciated. 1)When I delete a attachment , I can't see anything in the Document Index's deleted attachment tag. The url is like "/bin/view/Main/AllDocs?view=deletedAttachments" This happens to the deleted document tag too.And when I want to rollback to previous version of a page,the deleted attachment isn't recoverd.So please tell me how to handle with this problem. 2)Some scripts doesn't work for IE,but use Firefox it can work,such as adding a user to a group. Hi, I had a similar problem (users Digest Vol 34, Issue 20,8, May 10, 2010). In my case it appears to be a problem in de Space.WebPreferences page: when removing the parent link to the Space.WebHome page (which can be done safely), the problem vapours instantaneously :-) It would be good to have an escape mechanism for invalid properties. Hi, I imported a MS Office file which contains a table of content. When I tried to export it (both in pdf and rtf format), I had an error (see below). After some tests, I realized that it's due to anchor tags in titles like *= {{id name="Sommaire|outline"}}{{/id}} Sommaire =*. Hi there, me again. I do have a small Velocity-Script displaying all pages within a space. Hello, Recently I have tried installing XWord plug-in on MS Offfice 2007. After the installation, XWord tab does not appear. List of currently installed software on my PC is attached ( http://n2.nabble.com/file/n5068886/InstalledSoftware.txt InstalledSoftware.txt ). One additional note is that I had MS Office 2003 Web Components installed on my first attempt. But then I've removed it and re-installed XWord once again with the same result. Having looked carefully once again on the installation procedure I've noticed a list of dependencies with PIA (Microsoft Office Primary Interoperability Assemblies) which was not in the list of installed software. So I have installed it manually, re-enabled XWord plug-in and the XWord tab has finally appeared. I believe this error might be due to PIA install pack structure specifics. It does not actually install the app - it only extracts another installer which should be run separately. Hope this info will help someone someday. [xwiki-users] User directory

Hi, I would like to create a directory of users (with name, phone and email) who are in a specific group but I'm not comfortable with query. Is there anybody who have already work on a thing like this? To avoid temporally the problem, I thought add a tag on the concerned users, like this we can have a list of the user and go on the profile page, but XWiki has to be blacklisted, so it's doesn't work for usual user. [xwiki-users] How to disable caching for attachments?

Hey all, We've been having browser caching problems for attachments where users have had to wait hours before their data would be updated in xwiki.For IE, for example, killing all instances of IE, restarting the browser, and then visiting the attachment is a solution to this problem. We basically need a way to add a Cache-Control header when the server responds to the attachment link. Is there a way to prevent caching of the URL for attachments in the web browser by changing the config files, or by changing something in the xwiki code? Thanks, Felix

[xwiki-users] using subqueries in HQL

Hello everybody! I need some help about construction of a subquery. I have 2 classes: "projects" and "steps". Also, name of a projectclass pages - is one of a property of a class "step" (for this reason, If I know project, I can find all steps of this project). I have one query: #set ($hql = ", BaseObject as obj, StringProperty as prop where (obj.name=doc.fullName and obj.className='UAProjectManagementCode.ProjectClass' and obj.name not like '%ClassTemplate') and (obj.id=prop.id.id and prop.id.name='ProjectName') order by prop.value asc ") This query returns all projects. After this, I use #foreach ($proj in $projs) #set ($projDoc = $xwiki.getDocument($proj)) #set ($projName = $projDoc.getName()) ... And, each time, for each project, I use second query, with additional filter by $projName: #set ($hql2 = ", BaseObject as obj, StringProperty as prop, StringProperty as otherprop where (obj.name=doc.fullName and obj.className='UAProjectManagementCode.StepClass' and obj.name not like '%ClassTemplate') and (obj.id=prop.id.id and prop.id.name='Project' and prop.value='$projName') and (obj.id=otherprop.id.id and otherprop.id.name='Step') order by prop.value asc, otherprop.value asc ") Together, this construction returns to me list of all projects with all params, and for each project - list of all steps with all params. This construction works normal, but I know, that HQL give possibility to use subqueries. It is a best variant, because now 2-nd query runs for each project. If projects will be much more - speed will go down ... In a page with HQL examples (http://platform.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/DevGuide/velocityHqlExamples) unfortunately not exist any examples about subqueries in a XWiki. Can somebody help me? [xwiki-users] Office importer not working

After upgrading to XE 2.3 the office importer stopped working. It always return error messages Missing input file. Please Go back and correct it. Missing target space name. Please Go back and correct it. Missing target page name. Please Go back and correct it. No matter what i try. If not one have noticed this then I'm starting to suspect I somehow have a broken install? I'm not sure how that can happen. I just unpacked the war only changing the config files. then importing the default pages. [xwiki-users] Fwd: Threads forcibly removed and possible memory leaks

I have the following environment Tomcat 6.0.26 Mysql 5.1 Xwiki Enterprise build 2.3.28602 Windows XP Every time i start tomcat i get several issues - I can only shut it down by pressing CTRL+C several times - While tomcat is running i dont see any messages on the console but when i kill it by pressing CTRL+C several messages appear all at once. - Xwiki does work fine i dont see anything out of the ordinary. The problems are "behind the scenes" Looking at the messages, some appear to be about memory leaks but i dont really understand any of it. Here is a log of the messages that i see from the point tomcat is started to teh point i kill it. Please have take a look and let me know if there is anything i can do to fix it. [xwiki-users] preventing registration on workspaces under xem

Hi, I'm using workspaces 1.2M1 as a virtual xwiki under xem 1.3. I have configured the XWikiServerClass object under XWikiServerServername to have the visibility property set to 'Private'. When I look at XWikiPreferences in the virtual xwiki, there are XWikiGlobalRights objects configured Deny, Groups:,Levels:Register,Users:XWikiGuest, and Deny, Groups:XWikiAllGroup, Levels: edit, register, Users: The registration form still appears on the login page, and upon filling in the fields and submitting, registration is successful. [xwiki-users] office integration @ opensuse

Hi all, I've installed tomcat6, mysql and open office on a opensuse 11.2 system. I've deployed xwiki 2.3 and the 2.3 today's snapshot. I am not able to start / connect to the open office server. I am always getting "Inadequate privileges" error message. I've tried several paths to open office (default, openoffice.homePath=/usr/share/ooo3, openoffice.homePath=/usr/share/ooo3/basis3.1) and starting it manually too ... I couldn't find the logs showing the reason behind. Thanks for your help! mb

[xwiki-users] XE 2.3 and search

I seem to have a problem with the search ever since I upgraded to 2.3. First off it fails to load the html macro. This is a known issue. I have repeatedly imported the Main.WebSearch page from the default 2.3 wiki with no success. After manually adding a new line after the {hmtl} in question the page renders. But now if I search on something (I have to manually delete the 'Search..' string in the search box first) I will see the result list flash by momentarily only to have that wiped and presented with the empty search page again. Did something go wrong with my upgrade or what could have happened since no one else seems to experience this? Everything else seems to work as expected from what I've tried. [xwiki-users] XEM ,farm and Annotation

Hi, I installed a new wiki farm from XWM 2.3 and created some virtual wikis. The implementation is with jetty and mysql on a SuseLinux box. I imported the relative xem-wiki-administrator.2.3.xar in the main wiki and a xe-wiki-2.3.xar in an empty virtual wiki. After some problems about DNS mapping, the thing now seems to work, I can access the main wiki and the virtual ones. Now I noticed that the Annotation feature (that should be present and working both in the main wiki and in the virtual wiki) does work in the main wiki, but not in the virtual wiki. If I log in in the virtual one (with admin privileges) I can see in the wiki admin page that the Annotation section in the Preferences is there, can be edited, but nothing changes. The fact is that, rather than saying that the feature doesn't work, I should say I can't see even the icon in the toolbar, so it is not accessible and not working. Any known issues? It is a smart feature so I would like to use it. [xwiki-users] Automatic Numbering - macro problems

Hello there! I'm trying to create a macro that would allow the user to use the automatic numbering "power". I used this code: #set ($context.tocNumbered = true) #set ($context.tocData = $tdoc.getTOC(1, 6, true)) to create the macro. I created the macro. However, when I tried to use it, it just didnt seem work. After a little time searching I found the problem, or not... Maybe there's something related to the version in which I'm creating and using the macro. Either 2.0 or 1.0. [xwiki-users] Deny Public registration Wiki Workspaces

I really love the look and use of the xwiki products, but the lack of documentation and broken functionality is very frustrating. After finally getting smtp authorisation working in Enterprize I find the email which is generated is not forming URLs properly - grrr. So now I'm back to exploring Workspaces milestone 1.2 and I have found that setting Public Registration to Allow or Deny makes no difference - registration is just a matter of supplying a name and email address and you're in. No admin approval required. This is not acceptable for an admin setup intended for staff only. Can anyone explain to me how this might be fixed please? Hello, I just upgraded our internal WIKI to the latest version of XWiki Enterprise v.2.3. We were previously using XWIKI enterprise version 1.7 The upgrade went smoothly and everything was migrated. However, the WYSIWYG editor for XWiki syntax 2.0 is not working. When trying to create or edit a page in XWiki syntax 2.0, the WYSIWYG never loads. The WYSIWYG for syntax version 1.0 is working fine. [xwiki-users] Problem with links to Headers after export to HTML

I have taken my Xwiki site and have exported it to HTML. I have a table of contents at the top of each page with autogenerates based on the Headers on the page. These TOC links work correctly when clicked, they take you to the appropriate header within the page. Within the text of the page though, if a link is inserted referencing a header, it works fine in the wiki, but when exported to HTML the URL is mangled. For example: A link within a page should be: "xwiki.Main.<PageName>.html#H<Header Name>" Is instead rendered as: "xwiki.Main.<PageName>#H<Header Name>.html" This results in a link that does not function correctly. Has anyone seen this problem? Is there a way to fix this other than to search all of the files and manually edit them? Hi all, I have a page "Child" in with Space A(A.Child), with parent "A.Main". Now I would like to copy this page to Space B, so it becomes "B.Child with parent "B.Main". But when I copy page using copy function in UI or using "xwiki.xWiki.copyDocument", "B.Child" 's parent is always "A.Main". What could I do to acheive my expected result, "B.Main"? Since I would like to use marco to copy multiple pages, I hope I could find a solution besides manually modifying the pages. Hi Ryszard, If you want to query external URLs you will need to proxy the requests. The "url" parameter is limited by browsers same origin policy. To proxy the request you can have a result page with a groovy script that makes the HTTP requests to the external URL and outputs it. It has a performance cost, though, since it means 2 requests where you would do only one with an internal URL. Another alternative is to make the livetable support JSON with padding technique (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JSON#JSONP) ; it's not very complex, it just needs an alternative method to fetch the data (instead of AJAX request) + an option to activate this method. Though it's a bit touchy security-wise, not sure we would want to have this available by default (but could be discussed). Hello everybody! I need a few help about HQL issues. 1) I have own class XWiki, and make query with sorting results by the class properties values, BUT not only one property. How I can include in HQL query 2 sorting criterias (second "inside" first)? 2) My code order data by property values, but first always stay property values starting with alphabetical symbols and only second - values starting with numbers. For example: "ADSL", "DFR", "5SQL", "9ROOT". It is normal for HQL? Can I change this? It is better for me, if values starting with numbers will stay in a first positions ... Thanks beforehand! Anyone who's a member of myxwiki.org ( http://www.myxwiki.org/bin/register/XWiki/Register ) can test out the functionality, acting as a user or as an administrator. Even though the email isn't sent, you can still try accepting, rejecting, or reporting your messages as spam. If you report your message as spam (and click confirm) you will not be able to send any more mail unless you use the "view as an administrator" page. [xwiki-users] C++ bindings

This is sort of a random shot, just hoping someone has implemented something similar before. There is a C++ API used to securely connect to and query a database. The database is maintained by IT, so I need to go through this API rather than directly accessing the database (in which case I would use JDBC with groovy). I was wondering if there is a way to write groovy bindings for C++ functions. I know this can be done with Java for C++ (JNI/Jace/etc), but does anyone have any experience doing such a thing with groovy or in a wiki context? Unless I'm doing something very stupid I'd think the HTML macro shows some weird browser dependent behaviour: {{html}} <div id="header"> <a href="/docs/Test/" <span class="someClass">SomeText</span> </a> </div> {{/html}} Works as expected with firefox 3.x / Safari Doesn't work in IE 7/8 and Chrome. The {{html}}-embedded code is missing in the page output for these browsers. When examining the page with Firebug I also noticed that the *listItem* example on http://code.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Macros/HTMLMacro renders unexpectedly. Firebug reveals <table> <tbody> ... <ul class="star"> <li>listitem>/li> </ul> ... </tbody> </table> Neither <tbody> nor 'class="star" ' are part of the example source so this example is either a fake or the macro shows undocumented behaviour. IMHO the macro should just write its raw output to the page not depending on any other circuumstances. The macro example page and I guess all of http://code.xwiki.org are looking crippled on IE7 as the content area is clipped. Wiki version is 2.3 M1 thanks Andreas

Hi, I try to configuring Open Office server. I'm not sure of the parameters so I made some changes to test, but I have a very strange "bug". I explain : I changed the data once in xwiki.properties, but since, even if I put some new parameters in xwiki.properties, when I'm connecting in Xwiki on the OfficeImporterAdmin page, the data seems to be the same of the first time... For exemple, I tested by writing this : # openoffice.homePath=E:\Program Files (x86)\OpenOffice.org 3\ # openoffice.profilePath=E:\Users\bet\AppData\Roaming\OpenOffice.org\3 And I still see this : Server path C:Program FilesOpenOffice.org 3 Server profile D:UsersbetAppDataRoamingOpenOffice.org3 and I can see the same problem in the log (it's not a refreshing display problem) (furthermore, sometimes I have the message "Error while connecting / starting openoffice." and sometimes "Inadequate privileges."....) [xwiki-users] LDAP Autentication do not work anymore

Hello! Last week I was able to configure the XWiki authentication against an Windows 2008 AD. Everything worked. Now I transferred the wiki from the test system to the working environment and now the authentication do not work anymore. If I try to log in with an AD User I get the message "invalid Credentials". The strange thing is that if I use a user which has not ever entered the XWiki I get the same message. But if I log in with the admin account and look on the user list the user exists and all datas a correctly transferred from the AD, therefore the connection works but I cannot enter. What can be the reason for that, I do not understand this! Thanks, Florian

[xwiki-users] Can't disable registration in version 2.2

Hi everybody I'm using XWiki Enterprise, version 2.2.6.28645, out of the box with the HSQLDB. I've enabled LDAP authentication, and I want it to be the only means for a user to edit content in the Wiki. Therefore, I want to disable the "Register" link, so that users that are not in the LDAP can't register themselves. I've already removed the "Register" right from XWikiAllGroup, but the "Register" link is still there and everybody can use it. Is there another approach for this? I can't find any useful information in the documentation regarding this.

[xwiki-users] Toolbar while in Edit mode on Blogs

When creating or editing a blog i cant see the toolbar icons on the editor window. Is there a way to enable this? And also, how do i write a link on a blog that points to a wiki article? I tried this [[SRxxx-5>>SRxxx-5||title="SRxxx-5"]] but it cant find the wiki article SRxxx-5 even though it does exist. so when i click on the link it creates a new article even though it exists.

Hi everybody I'm having a really hard time to change the default home for my XWiki installation. I'm using version 2.2 out of the box with HSQLDB. I've edited the web.xml to enable the Redirect Servlet and make it redirect the user to a specific space WebHome. <servlet> <servlet-name>redirectHomeServlet</servlet-name> <servlet-class>com.xpn.xwiki.web.HomePageRedirectServlet</servlet-class> <init-param> <description>The address to redirect to when the client hits the root of the application.</description> <param-name>homePage</param-name> <param-value>bin/MySpace/WebHome</param-value> </init-param> </servlet> This works fine, when I reach the root of the container (http://myhost:8080/), but when I click the logo.png (with the XWiki.org logo) it still points to view/Main. As an attempt to make the logo point to my specific space and WebHome I tried to set the following properties in xwiki.cfg: xwiki.defaultweb=MySpace xwiki.defaultpage=WebHome But it had absolutely no effect. I just can't believe there isn't a simpler way to change the home. It seems to me, that it's something every XWiki user would want to do. Any ideas?

Hello, I would like to have a specific color theme for my users depending of the groups. So I modified the colorThemeInit.vm to check the user group and apply a specific theme. My problem is after logging, I have to refresh the page manually to see the new theme, even if I click on a link in the wiki. How can I force a refresh automatically after logging? Should I call the template colorThemeInit somewhere else ? I'm still clueless on how to do it properly... I have java experience, so I can code what is necessary, I just don't know where to go. All I want to do is change the default template. In the 2.3 timeframe, a serious security bug was fixed. Hibernate treats backslashes differently from some database management systems and as a result native SQL can be injected through the searchDocuments function. This means members of a wiki can finish an SQL query, also this means that badly written searchDocuments or search queries go from small security issues to larger ones. NOTE: Passwords are hashed (encrypted) so they cannot easily be read from the database. Who's at risk? Database systems which treat backslash as an escape character and allow stacked queries are susceptible to arbitrary SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE, and DROP statements. These include: MS-SQL Postgres Database systems which treat backslash as an escape character but disallow stacked queries are susceptible only to arbitrary SELECT statements. These include: MySql Oracle Database systems which do not treat backslash as an escape character are not vulnerable these include: HSQLDB (default XWiki zip/exe installation) You can get a small groovy snippet to test your database and see if it supports stacked queries here: http://dev.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Drafts/SecuringXWiki#HMitigationMethods… What can be done: #1: XWiki-2.3 and XWiki-2.2.6 Are patched to convert \ to \\ in search queries so upgrading to them will negate the threat. XWiki doesn't usually use the backslash character and queries containing backslashes should be logged specially. Also it is a good idea to log (or block if possible) any SQL comment syntax. Hibernate does not support comments and comment syntax is central to almost all SQL injection. Caleb

I found XWIKI....The installation was easy and straight-forward then I encountered with an excellent tool for my job: I am not a administrating and I don't want Online wiki so much (at least for 1-2 year)... currently I just need a wiki for my personal use: 1) is XWIKI a good choice for someone like me? 2) I need LaTeX support is it available? 3) I'm a newbie ( I just know a little HTML...) is XWIKI a good alternative for my personal DMS? 4) I've installed my XWIKI on Fedora 11 in /home/user/.XWiki folder is it possible to reinstall it? 5) I can't access my xwiki via menu's shortcut I've to cd .XWiki and "sh start....sh" It works but I want a total solution 6) where do my pages store? excuxe me for this long list question Thanks!

[xwiki-users] XEM - access issue to wiki instances

Hello, I installed XEM (version 2.3) from a distribution with Tomcat 6.0.26 and MySQL 5.1 on Windows XP. I followed the guide installation. After creating a new wiki instance, I tried to access it but unsuccessfully... I have some delay timeout expiration and wiki can't be displayed. I can only access to the main wiki. I don't know where to look for and what to do, do you have any suggestions ? Hi, I have a "security" problem in the document tree. People who doesn't have access to a specific space shouldn't even see his name in the tree results. I'm looking for the parameter which has to be modify to solve this problem but unfortunetely, it's very hard to find it. [xwiki-users] Damaged wiki-pages because of getURL returns incorect URL

I have a strange situation in my wiki. Some of elements at a standart wiki-pages are damaged. For example - Main.Spaces, all user profiles, Blogs.WebHome and many-many others (but not all). You can see how they are damaged on a attached images. http://n2.nabble.com/forum/FileDownload.jtp?type=n&id=4992332&name=UserProf… http://n2.nabble.com/forum/FileDownload.jtp?type=n&id=4992332&name=Spaces_d… This situation exists on fresh XWiki installations on all versions (I tried XWiki starting from 2.0), different servlets (I tried jetty & glassfish), different DB (I tried Oracle & HSQLDB & MySQL). I started to analyze situation. Interest, but when I use local server address (http://localhost:8080/xwiki) - all is ok, problem shows ONLY if I connecting through my internet domain name (http://mysite.com/xwiki). I started to compare html-generated code and found, that function getURL returns different strings! When I addresses through http://localhost:8080/xwiki getURL returns /xwiki/bin/view/ColorThemes/ with class="wikilink". But when I adresses through my site getURL returns http://mysite.com/xwiki/bin/view/Main/SpaceIndex?space=ColorThemes with class="wikiexternallink". If I put option {{html wiki="false"}} - these links are ok, but another portions of code (where using wiki-syntax inside of html) started to damaged. Ok - I can one-by-one for all pages put {{html wiki="false"}} and change wiki-syntax inside of html for a truly html ... I already did it successfully for a Main.Spaces. But pages with same problems quite enough ... Maybe exists another variant? How to say absolutely for a getURL function to returns internal link? Or maybe problem with my site config? Unfortunately, site-configuration is not under my control ... My Xwiki server placed inside internal local network domain, and exists "link" between my XWiki-Server and address on a external site (which is hosted on another server, another network). How this "link" is configured - I don't no. I only said for external-site administrators internal path (http://servername:8080/xwiki) - and they did link. If it is problem with external-site address config - I need to say something for administrators what need to change, because now all looks like that problem is with programming code of XWiki ... Hi, I made two Forum with the Bulletin Board. I wondered if it's possible to display the twice Forum (the Webhome?) on a same page, and not just a link. Like this, it's possible to create different forum/space with different rights for users. Hi all, I have installed XWiki 2.2.3 in a Tomcat 6.0.20 servlet container using Oracle 10g as database. The database connection settings are done on the default way in the WEB-INF/hibernate.cfg.xml file. XWIKI is running without any problems or exceptions. Now I want to "replace" the database settings in hibernate.cfg.xml by using a Tomcat container managed JNDI data source. The advantage for us is the usage of Tomcat's server.xml as a central place where we can manage all data sources of every webbapp within Tomcat. I have red the articles under http://platform.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/AdminGuide/Installation#HInstallan… and http://java.dzone.com/articles/xwiki-installation-jboss-using (it's a JBoss relatet documentation but many information pieces are usefull for Tomcat too). My JNDI configuration is as following: a) definition of the JNDI datasource in Tomcat's server.xml (defining the Oracle JNDI resource can't be the problem because we use other Oracle JNDI data sources without any problems) <Resource name="jdbc/XWikiDS" auth="Container" type="javax.sql.DataSource" username="XWIKI" password="*************" driverClassName="oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver" I know it's possible because I have this pop-up at the adress: http://mydomain/xwiki/bin/admin/XWiki/XWikiPreferences?section=Users, there's a table with the list of all my users, and I can edit them by clickink on an icon, the edition is in a pop-up. But I need to import some users beforehand, because I need to setup some rights in XWiki before user logged in. Ideal solution for me - not import all users from LDAP - but only some of them (or one by one) - filtered directly by SAMAccountName (filtered list of usernames from AD). [xwiki-users] XE 2.3 new deployment fails...

Hi I tried to install the V2.3 using the WAR file provided on a new an clean Debian/5.0.4 - everything seems fine until I do call XE the first time - it fails - always - during debugging I realise it doesn't create the database table (in mysql here) during startup. Just to proove my theory V2.3 is broken I did a clean setup on the same box using V2.2.5 WAR - this works straight forward and creates the needed tables. Questions: Anyone else experienced this too? Is the Upgrade from V2.2.2 to V2.3 supported and tested or might the schema-update not work? Regards Harald Kapper / kapper.net

Hello, I'm a CS major in my 2nd year of school. I've been using XWiki for a personal wiki project and have run into a wall with a few things. I've frequently run into issues where I give a group the access rights to view a page, which overrides default settings and forces me to specify viewing permissions for the groups that should have access to that page based on the space settings. This is quite cumbersome when there are many groups that should have access to the page. Are there plans to include a feature that would optionally allow the page to inherit permissions from the space and merge them with the current page settings? Thanks, Carlos

Hey, We actually increased the JVM size to 1.5GB, but the maximum attached size support only increased by 30 MB to 50MB (used to be 20MB), which is definitely a great improvement! Now, big files that are greater than 20MB cannot be deleted through the GUI, emanating the same bug that used to happen for all attachments in version 2.1 and below. The watchlist also doesn't seem to work for users or admins sometimes. Some users are not getting their subscribed emails when changes are made to their subscribed pages or spaces. Is the watchlist restricted to admins certain types of admins? Some admins don't receive emails for their watched spaces and many users don't get emails back for pages they've watched. They are all mapped by LDAP. Is this behavior common? I've spend a couple of hours reading the web site documentation, but can't find out if / how certain features I need are supported. I'd be ever so grateful if someone who knows their way round XWiki could just give me a quick indication of how much is going to be involved to provide the following features. Just a quick 'OOB' (out of the box), 'AP' (available plugin), 'DN' (development by me needed) or similar against each feature I need would be really helpful. The application is an on-line training programme for a closed charitable community. The overall training material is structured into modules. Students have modules 'unlocked' for them on an individual basis as they proceed. Each module contains a number of chapters, each chapter will be structured into sections for readability - a section corresponding to a Wiki page. Now for the unusual (?) features I need: - Single login shared with an associated Database programme (a servlet), using JAAS. (Preference is to run database and Wiki on a single Jetty instance, as I have 6 years Jetty experience). - That shared login also supplies user's group membership (student, editor, admin, etc) - Info obtained from database indicating which module(s) the student is permitted to view (could be done by multiple-group membership), - Security permissions for individual pages inferred by inheriting permissions from the module containing that page, - Inter-page references only shown if user is permitted to read those pages OR (preferably) alternate paragraph-sized blocks of Wiki text are displayed depending on whether an embedded link may be followed i.e. IF page_X_can_be_viewed THEN show_text_A ELSE show_text_B. - Output to database programme (by API or HTML call) or to machine-readable log, on time/date each page viewed by each student, so that student-specific log may be compiled, - 'Print Chapter' command - produces single printable document containing all the sections (Wiki Pages) comprising that chapter, - The above 'Print Chapter' command to omit any embedded 'eye-candy' images from that printed chapter (by use of CSS @media ?) - 'Help me on this topic' button. Sends private email help request to tutor with hot-link annotation showing the tutor where the student was when help was requested. Must at least identify location by Section (Wiki Page), preferably identify by paragraph in section. Preferable: simple, automatic next page / previous page buttons working through - Quality feedback form at end of each chapter, form data sent to database (see linkage options above). Import of pre-written, formatted documents: I've found the XWiki method which uses an Open Office instance running on the server, but I'm not sure if the virtual server we can afford has enough RAM to cope with this. Is there any other way of uploading pre-formatted documents, or of doing the format conversion before upload. I think we only need simple formatting such as headings, bold, italic text. No tables. [xwiki-users] Export HTML - Remove Menus at top of page

I am exporting my XWiki site into static HTML pages for "offline" viewing. This is working pretty well, but would like to remove the menus (Export, Actions, Watch, <user>, Log Out) from the top of each page in the HTML files. I have been playing with view.vm in \skins\colibri of the Zip file, to try and figure out what is controlling that content, but have not stumbled upon any way to disable it. Any help with this would be appreciated. [xwiki-users] Export HTML creates files that show "double" content

When using the HTML Export feature to output static HTML pages for an entire space, each HTML file contains that main content of each wiki page twice. Interestingly enough the HTML page does not contain the Comment /Attachments/History/Information box that appears at the bottom of each page, but instead replicates all of the info from the main page. I am trying to create a local (offline) copy of my wiki using HTML and this doubling is really causing me a problem. Possibly related to this, the static HTML page is generating this error in my browser: http://n2.nabble.com/forum/FileDownload.jtp?type=n&id=4946996&name=Error.png The doubling occurs both in IE 7.0 and Chrome 4.1. Any help with how to resolve this would be appreciated. [xwiki-users] Duplicates URL

HI, I have this issue with the installation of xwiki 2.4. I 've tried with previous versions, but the result it's the same; the URL is duplicated: http://$server/xwiki-enterprise-web-2.4-20100422.100532-35http:// $server/xwiki-enterprise-web-2.4-20100422.100532-35/bin/login/XWiki/XWikiLogin?srid=Inpt8Uqd If I delete the first part (http://$server/xwiki-enterprise-web-2.4-20100422.100532-35) the connection is OK, but for further movements into de wiki, it turns duplicate URL again and shows this tomcat message: HTTP 404 - /xwiki-enterprise-web-2.4-20100422.100532-35http:// $server/xwiki-enterprise-web-2.4-20100422.100532-35/bin/login/XWiki/XWikiLogin I have revised hibernate.xml, xwiki.xml and web.xml. Also, if I replace the conf. files with the 2.2 version conf, files, the error persists although the version 2.2 is running OK. There's no error on Tomcat Logs, only database sentences. Hi, I found a snapshot of Xword2003. It installs with no errors but nothing shows up in Word 2003. I noticed that Word 2003 add-in is not on the roadmap anymore. Are there still plans to add support for Word 2003? [xwiki-users] Problems with XAR Import into a new wiki on version

Hi! I want to install a new xwiki using tomcat and MSSQL. I already successfully installed this combination with an older version of xwiki. But however when I try to import the XAR File into XWiki I always get the following error in german: Importiere xwiki-enterprise-wiki-2.2.5.xar: Fehler während der Vorbereitung des Imports Translated into English this would mean about: There has been an error during the preparation of the import. What is the reason for that, is it possible that the XAR file on the xwiki website may be corrupted? Or is this a MSSQL problem. Please help me! Thanks, Florian

[xwiki-users] The "spacecontent" macro is not in the list of registered macros

Hi! Ifor some time I have written a macro which dsiplays the content of a space in a list. I wrote it as velocity macro. The makro works fine but in the meantime I realized that if a user is not logged on instead of the content of a space the following error is written: The "spacecontent" macro is not in the list of registered macros If the user is logged on everything is fine. What do I have to change that the macro also works if the user is not logged on. The macro is stored under this path: TechWiki<http://wiki.nettania.at/xwiki/bin/view/Main/> > XWiki Space > SpaceContent. I do not use a wiki farm only a single wiki installation. Therefore this link does not help me: http://platform.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/DevGuide/WikiMacroTutorial#HPrereq… What am I doing wrong, I already changed that the unregistered user can read the page. Xwiki allows to redirect from one xwiki page to other using $response.sendRedirect("http://new_url") code. Though response header status ir 302 (found, i.e. moved temporarily), but I need 301 (moved permanently). Is it way to set this status for response? Valdis
