Is there a way to mark a blog category as excluded from the main
aggregation of blog postings on the main page? Should I just edit the
SQL in Blog.Macros directly? If so, I'm not sure which table I should
be looking at.
We have a new blog category that only a small subset of the company
cares about.
Thanks,
-Dave

I would like to preface this message with the comment: I know about zero on
CSS. However I would like to resize the company logo on my xwiki to a large
longer size to properly display our logo.

hi,
if i want to create a new page that contains all the attachments from a
space, do i have to create velocity pages .vm equivalent to the normal
attachments page? these pages from what i can tell are used for the attach
part of the page: docextra.vm, attachments.vm, attachmentsinline.vm,
editattachments.vm
so .. my question is: to create a page where to see all the attachments of
the space.do i have to create vm pages: allattach.vm, allattachments.vm,
allattachmentsinline.vm, editallattachments.etc?
cause this way seems long and confuzing.mistakes are easy to make.
what is your oppinion on this manner? thank you

Hi guys,
I'm trying to write some script in Velocity that will automatically add
section headings and a table of contents to a form. I want the user to be
able to upload a list of section headings and the prettyName of the first
field. I will then add an if statement in the standard loop through the
properties so that in pseudo code: if(prop.prettyName ==
"firstfieldprettyname") then {Print Heading}. I am wondering if anyone has
any elegant solutions to allowing administrators to upload the section
headings and corresponding first properties. I don't understand how I would
be able to reference the uploaded data from within the velocity script.
I am a new to Xwiki and velocity so please be patient with me if the above
didn't make much sense or wasn't clear enough.
Many thanks in advance for your help,
Brian
Hi everybody!
I tried to use the *getAttachment(String token, String pageId, String
fileName, String versionNumber)* function in the XMLRPC API. According to
JIRA ticket, it should be implemented.
Here is my call:
final Map picList = (Map) client.execute("confluence1.getAttachment", new
Object[] {token, "Main.WebHome", "imageName.png", "1.1"});
But I got the exception :
Exception in thread "main" org.apache.xmlrpc.XmlRpcException: No such
handler: confluence1.getAttachment
Every other function (login, logout, getPage...) works fine. This one throws
the exception, and a bogus function name throws exactly the same.
Checking the file
xwiki-platform-core/xwiki-core/src/main/java/com/xpn/xwiki/xmlrpc/XWikiXmlRpcHandler.java
in the sources shows various functions , but not getAttachment.
So here is my question : where is the getAttachment function? I'm aware that
the whole API is not implemented yet, but the Jira ticket XWIKI-1663 says
this particular function is. Did I do something wrong?

Hi all,
I tried to upload a document (word, 5Mb) to a wiki page that already has
several other attachments.
I got an error: attached there is the error message that XWiki report.
The wiki is part of a wiki farm, version 1.2.2.
Any idea what the problem can be?

Hi All!
I've installed the xwiki in my company to use as az intranet
information center, but we've to use Active Directory authentication.
I set the encoding to UTF-8 everywhere like writen in documentation.
This is my relevant config:
xwiki.authentication.ldap=1
xwiki.authentication.ldap.trylocal=1
xwiki.authentication.ldap.server=172.16.1.165
xwiki.authentication.ldap.check_level=1
xwiki.authentication.ldap.port=389
xwiki.authentication.ldap.base_DN=dc=company,dc=intranet
xwiki.authentication.ldap.bind_DN=cn={0},ou=COMPANY,dc=company,dc=intranet
xwiki.authentication.ldap.bind_pass={1}
xwiki.authentication.ldap.UID_attr=cn
xwiki.authentication.ldap.fields_mapping=name=cn,last_name=sn,first_name=givenName,fullname=displayName,mail=cn,ldap_dn=dn
xwiki.authentication.ldap.group_mapping=XWiki.XWikiAdminGroup=cn=UnixDBA,cn=users,dc=unixdba,dc=sysman,dc=intra
My questions:
1. the trylocal doesn't work for us, if a user doesn't exists in AD
then the authentication is failed, but if I change the
xwiki.authentication.ldap=0 then works fine to local users (MySQL)
2. because in our AD the CN-s looks like
cn={0},ou=COMPANY,dc=company,dc=intranet, but in the CN are hungarian
characters. If I try with a user whos name doesn't contain hungarian
characters the authentication is working fine, otherwise it fails :(
The sAMAcountName attribute is a good choise but I don't know how to
set up xwiki :(
Somebody have some idea how can I setting up this ones?
Best regards,
bzg

Do you have spaces or periods in your sam account names? Or CN names? Which

Hi,
You should have some error log in xwiki.log or your container log file
depends of your installation.

Hi!
I just try to configure user authentication by AD. After trying a while the
system runs but if I try to use an AD User I get the information about an
internal error with no more information. How can I get an information what
goes wrong?

Hi All,
I'm new to XWiki (and the list) and have a few questions. I'm
specifically needing help with the Virtual Wiki portion of things, but
that will be for a follow-up Email. The first thing I need to verify is
that I've got the base installation of things essentially correctly
configured.
Our webserver is Apache 2.0 with Java being served up by Resin on the
back end. I've installed XWiki Enterprise Manager 1.2 into its own
directory (/usr/local/www/xwiki) and created a separate Resin instance
for it (listening on port 6807). A portion of the XWiki Resin config
file looks like this:
<host id="xwiki.domain.dom" root-directory="/usr/local/www/xwiki/"
host-name="xwiki.domain.dom" host-alias="xwiki">
<web-app id="/" document-directory="/usr/local/www/xwiki/">
[...]
</web-app>
</host>
The Resin instance starts fine. I created a Virtual Host for it in
Apache as follows:
<VirtualHost MY_IP:80>
ServerName xwiki.domain.dom
ServerAlias xwiki
DocumentRoot /usr/local/www/xwiki/
ResinConfigServer localhost 6807
</VirtualHost>
The main problem I have is that I can't get the wiki to load. If I go to
http://xwiki/ or http://xwiki.domain.dom/ (internal server; don't bother
trying) -- I just get a directory listing of the XWiki files. If I click
on the "redirect" text file in the directory, it will work its magic and
send me to the welcome page for the wiki.
I haven't seen anything mentioned anywhere about that specific problem,
so I'm asking. Is it normal to have to add something like this to the
VirtualHost container:
RedirectMatch permanent ^/$ /redirect
In effect, doing two redirects on the initial root page load? Is there
another way I should be configuring things?
Sorry for the length. I just wanted to give a bit of background before I
asked, since I have a follow-up question or two regarding running
Virtual Wikis (ugh).
Thanks for listening.

Most likely I'm missing something, but maybe someone can help me out with
this:
when I insert something like:
{code}
#set($e = "Test")
{code}
in a page, I'd expect the content displayed in Courier or a similar font.
But all I can get is Arial...
(XE 1.5 RC2 as well as 1.41 on Windows XP, Tomcat 6.0, Oracle 10.2.0.3,
Firefox 2).
Thanks for any help on this!

I haven't changed anything at the application level. It's possible one of the other wiki users did something that led to the creation of these pages and spaces.
Do you know what those pages are for? Should just delete them?

Hi,
I have successfully created a wiki from XEM (Manager 1.2 installed on XE
1.4.1, Tomcat 6, Oracle 10.2, Java 6).
After that, I tried to delete that wiki and I got that message :

XAppSheets, XAppClasses, XAppTemplates now appear in the spaces list. They each have one page in them as follows:
Space: XAppSheets
Page: XWiki Application Class Sheet
Space: XAppClasses
Page: XWiki Application Class
Space: XAppTemplates
Page: XWiki Application Class Template
Why did these spaces and pages appear, and how can I safely remove them from the menu? Can I just remove the pages from the spaces?
Thanks!

You can add this in style.css :
------------8<----------------------------
pre, pre span {
font-family:Courier;
}
------------8<----------------------------
Devs : I'd be +1 to modify this in our skins, may be should add a
special css class to the PREs generated by the code macro to achieve
this.
WDYT ?

Idea is to allow the user to create the description? If so sounds like a
GREAT idea.

We are looking at creating an internal Favorites system. with large XWiki's
it is easy for a user to forget where things are and search is not always
productive. Tags don't offer enough info to help much.
So we are thinking about creating a Favorites class with fields for name,
link/path and description. then a panel that shows your favorites.
Does that sound right to the group or is there a better way?

Hi everyone,
I searched the archive, and found some problems related to the FAQ
application tutorial, but none the same as the one I'm experienting.
I'm using version 1.4 of Xwiki, with the bundled HSQLDB database.
I went through the FAQ Application tutorial (twice) without problem. But
when I get to the end, and want to try it out by creating the document
"Whatisthemeaningoflife", I get a message telling me that the page does
not exist, and that I should edit it. If I try to edit, I get a normal
blank page to edit ...
I don't think I did anything wrong, remember I did it twice, but it could
well be ...
Does anybody have an idea?
Thanks in advance,
Xavier

When you create a page you have to put the name of the page not the
title of the page or a description of the page...
So in this case you should name it something like:
"TutorialHowToUseWindows" for example or simple "WindowsTutorial" or
whatever other name you want to give to that page.
You can then set its title either inside the document as a level 1
title with:
1 Tutorial: How to use Windows
Or using the title field.
Of course we should also fix the error so that it's more user
friendly. Basically you're not allowed to use ":" in page names since
this is a reserved keyword used to specify that a document is located
in another subwiki.
For example: subwiki:Space.Page is the Page page located in the Space
space in the subwiki Wiki.
Please create a jira issue for this so that we can improve it in the
future.
Thanks

Some users noticed a problem by creating a new page. If they want for
example create a page with the name: "Tutorial: How to use Windows" we get
the following error:
Error number 4001 in 4: Error while parsing velocity page

At first I tried to change the coding to UTF-8 in web.xml in WEB-INF to

Hi!
What is the SQL query to get all XWiki spaces? I need this to get
them sorted, because $xwiki.spaces doesn't sort spaces by name.
Ar cieņu, Mihails
Hi All,
I have hosted the Xwiki 1.4 on one of my servers, I am able to access the
login page from intranet, when I try to access the login page from internet
it shows http 403 error.
This server is exposed to internet through ISA server (which is not under my
control), so I am not sure what is the problem. Please help me.
Thanks,
Vinod
I have installed xwiki 1.1.2 and using mysql database.
when I am trying to start the application I am getting the following error.

Is it possible to use the User List property in a query?
For some reason I can't seem to get it to return in a query (other property
types I use eg numerics/strings/dblist I can return with their respective
type). Is it perhaps stored as a different type to StringProperty? If so,
what is it's type (and is there any "gotcha's" to using it in a query)?
On 1.4.1 I've been noticing some odd results from the wysiwyg.
When editing, some folks have found that data is "lost" (it's actually
there, but because the wysiwyg editor didn't render the text, on next
edit+save combination the text is lost perminantly).
Also, at random times:
--bullet points are moving about (next line, previous line, etc when it's
showing as on the right line in edit mode.
--A textbox gets put around the text, making it harder to edit (only way I
can explain it, it's like in Word when you put a textbox into the document).
I'm still trying to lock down a repeatable case around those two.
The really sick part, is that when you're in edit mode it always "kinda"
looks right. Not quite, depending on the text, but almost. I am still
trying to reproduce some other issues I've been informed of, which have a
lower priority at this point.
Using Firebug reveals a bunch of inserted <div>'s at each bullet point ONLY
under certain conditions (for example, when you select text and bullet it
without starting from "fresh") - removing these <div> tags (again, with
firebug) shows that they're causing the majority of bullet point issues.
1: Is this perhaps why we are losing data as well? Random tags getting put
in that are hidden - and then when the wysiwyg editor tries to render it as
wikitext, it doesn't "see" that text?
2: Failing all else, how do I return to v1.1 wysiwyg editor? As it stands,
I have a blanket refusal by users to use the wiki system until this is
resolved - rolling back to an older released version is not really an
option, if we can roll back the wysiwyg editor and the problems it is
causing, I could salvage the bulk of issues.

I studied the todo example in the "The Server Side" article
(http://www.theserverside.com/tt/articles/article.tss?l=XWiki).
In this example, every todo item is represented by a separate page with
an associated object. Every todo item has to have a different name.
There is an example of a page that shows a table with all todo items,
and allowing to add new items.
Is it also possible to write a page listing all items and a second
generic page for editing a single selectable todo item, e.g. with a
parameter in the URL?
Thank you
Matthias Albert

Great to see you're not giving up in front of adversity ;-)
The panel wizard for spaces got introduced only a few days ago with the
administration overhaul. It would be great if you could document it on
XWiki.org now that you found about it...

this in the documentation.

Hi!
A lot of thanks to you and also to Vincent, it worked perfectly even it is a
little bit time-consuming to delete every page manually, I had not enough
time to test the script, I will do this tomorrow.
I think I was wrong with the second question. I have insert the panel
"Spaces" on the right site of the page. There I can see all spaces. How can
I change it, that some spaces are not shown there? I want that spaces like
XWiki, Panels, Stats are not view and accessible for other users than admin.
As far as I found out I have to do this by configuring the navigation panel
(see /xwiki/bin/inline/Panels/Navigation). I am not familiar actually with
the conf code of xwiki. Perhaps someone can give me a tip.
Thanks a lot,
Florian

You have to delete all files in a space to delete it. This can be done
manually or using a script,
see http://code.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Snippets/DeleteSpaceSnippet
Don't forget to delete the WebHome page in the space.

To modify it, just edit it. Go to the Panels space (Panels.WebHome)
for example or use the Panel Wizard and edit the panel you want.

Hi!
Maybe someone can help with getting all unique names of each user,
that has created some document in XWiki?
For example, there is table in XWiki database named "xwikidoc", which
contains all the documents. Can I create a query, that gets all the
unique values of the creators (column XWD_CREATOR)?

If I am understanding correctly, to delete spaces I think you can go to
"Index" on the quick links panel and that will show you all your spaces.
There is even a search box for spaces, you can copy, delete, rename, and
add rights buttons from here. For your second question, if you are
talking about the quick links panel you can click the "edit this panel"
link under Quick Links panel. You need to have the necessary rights to
do all this, so if you are logged in as an Admin all of these options
should show up.
Thanks,

Hello Stuart,
[snip]
One thing I haven't been able to do as yet is to put different access
rights on individual sections of a document. It seems that XWiki only
allocates access rights to the document as a whole.
Is this possible and if so how to do it?
If it is not yet possible, is likely to be in the future?
[/snip]
[MR]
I don't think it's possible to grant edit rights to sections of a page.
As far as viewing sections of a page is concerned think that is already
possible as follows using checkAccess
(http://maven.xwiki.org/site/xwiki-core-parent/xwiki-core/apidocs/com/xpn/xw…):
- [Link to a resource available to everyone>Main.WebHome]
#if($xwiki.checkAccess("Whois.WebHome", "view"))
- [Whois>Whois.WebHome]
#end
[/MR]
Mazzel,
Martijn.
Hello,
It seems that the Search panel is coming with a hard-coded URL like
"/xwiki/bin/Main/WebSearch"
If you give your application a different name than "xwiki" it breaks.
I checked that on the 1.4 XAR.
Best regards,

Hello!
In my wiki, I've saved a page that can be visualized by everybody, included
non logged users. The edition is restricted to logged users, though.
However, in this page I added a little script that changes some object
values when the page is viewed and then saves it. If somebody not logged try
to simply view the page, he receives an exception saying he doesn't have
rights for it.
IMHO, the script execution should be done with the rights of the person that
saved it.. In this case, I would like everybody that can view the page to be
able to execute the script and save the page in the terms I've decided in
the script.
Despite which is the best approach, is there any workaround for my case that
does not include allowing anonymous edition of the page?
Thank you very much,

Hi!
I got the problem solved. There was a problem with my Tomcat and Apache
configuration with xwiki. Now xwiki works perfectly, and I am very happy
that I can now use it.
This is a short installation guide for people who want to use Xwiki in
combination with Apache and mod_jk and want to deploy the application
manually:
1. Download the war file in the directory you want.
2. Now you have two possibilities:
- You can use the Apache Tomcat Manager to deploy (the usual way).
If you use this way you can skip the following steps.
- You rename the war file to zip and then unzip the file (I did it
this way, hopefully it is not completely wrong)
3. Now you can modify the hibernate.conf, see this tutorial step 8 and only
8: http://www.howtoforge.com/xwiki-tomcat-mysql-debian-etch
4. Create if you want or need an alias in the httpd.conf which points to the
folder where you have unzipped xwiki.
5. create an xml file with the following content:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<Context displayName="xwiki" docBase="/home/tomcat/app/xwiki"
path="aloha/xwiki/">
</Context>
modify docBase and path to your needs. Aloha is my alias of the xwiki the
folder where I stored the xwiki files
6. Use the Tomcat manager to manually deploy the service by using the
created xml file. (If someone needs more information to do this please ask)
7. Now xwiki should be accessible by http://domain/alias
I hope this will help some people
Greetings,
Florian

Hello,
I'm using XWiki notification API (
http://platform.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/DevGuide/Notifications) and now I
need to change a property of the document that is being changed by the user.
I tried simply changing the value but this does not persist it - after
rebooting the server the value is not there anymore.
Using the context.getWiki.saveDocument method was not a very bright idea
either because it started an infinite recursion - it called my notification
code back again.
So, does anybody know what could I do?
Thank you very much,

Hi all,
The hsqldb standalone zip distribution for XWiki Watch 1.0 RC 1 has been
released with wrong hibernate configuration file so you should use the
.jar installer until the XWiki Watch 1.0 Release Candidate 2 will be
released with the correct configuration (which is not very far in the
future).

Hello,
So I have LDAP authentication working now because of the awesome
documentation provided. I have noticed a small problem however. When a
user logs in with their active directory logon information for example,
it will create the Xwiki user account, firstname.lastname, which is
fine. However if they enter Firstname.lastname the second time they
logon (notice the capital letter), it will create another entry which is
a duplicate because of the capital letter. It seems as though the logon
username box is case sensitive, is there a way to prevent this?
Thanks!
how can I fetch the email address of a user if I have his login id.

On the xwiki.org there is limited information about multi-language.
I understand that the pages, the user content, can be in many languages
But how to translate the user interface, the buttons etc...

Hi Guys:
I have been reading everywhere and I can't find a solution that fits my
problem.
I have 2 users
- Admin (Standard).
- User1 (All possible rights for Space called Test).
Now I acces Test.WebPreferences And I get 2 Tabs:
- Space Prefs.
- Space Rights.
(So far so good)
But when I press the Space Rights Tab the Ajax table that should show my
users and groups doesnt show any names... The Only correct information it
displays is how many of each existe.
In the meanwhile When I log in as Admin and access the Administration area
everything works fine both tables on global rights and space rights work
fine.
Can anybody help me out? Or give me a hint to where I should look to solve
this problem.

Pleeeeease help!!! this is something I thought would be really trivial but
it seems not!!
In the WYSIWYG editor I have inserted an image, used the add link to add a
link to the image (as a file attachement) and clicked 'save and view'.
The resultant page does not display the image, instead it shows
{image:projector.gif|ReplaceTravelerData.wmv}
The code the WYSIWYG editor has produced (that is clearly not being
interpreted properly) is:
{attach:{image:projector.gif|106|106}|ReplaceTravelerData.wmv}
Can anyone save my sanity and point out the obvious mistake??
Many Thanks
Steve Borrett

Hi,
I have just installed the jar in my WebLogic/Oracle ear starting to test it.
I have reached a problem that was solved by adding <property name="query.factory_class">org.hibernate.hql.classic.ClassicQueryTranslatorFactory</property> to the hibernate config.
And Now I am getting the attached exception.
The tables where created in the DB and XWIKIRCS was even filled with 16 records, so it looks like the DB connection is working.
Even tough the exception where thrown, the XWiki WebHome was opened (even tough when I have clicked the administration I have got exception on page.)
Please assist.
Thanks a lot.

How's your email plugin development going?
When do you think you'd be able to make it available to other XWiki users?
Best Regards,

How/Where can I setup the landing page after login.
If I as a user have a URL to a page such as
/xwiki/bin/view/Project+Workspace/ and save that as a bookmark, when I go
there I get the login page, but then I am not taken to that page but to the
Main Web Home, I must hit the bookmark a second time to navigate to the
desired page.
Can I set a property someplace that allows a user to set his or her own
landing page other than Main? Can I change the behavior so the original URI
is retained after login so the user goes directly to that page after login?

Hi, all
I need to get content from a xwiki page, this i make in java with xml rpc but the problem is that i can't specify in which language i want the page. My code : stringBuffer.append("<br/><a href='http://cda-pc:8080/xwiki/bin/view/Main/Incendie?language="
+ locale + "' target='dynamic'>" + localize(KEY_INSTRUCTIONS, locale) + "</a><br/><br/>");
final String token = (String) client.execute("confluence1.login", new Object[] { "cda", "cda" });
final Map page = (Map) client.execute("confluence1.getPage", new Object[] { token, "Main", "Incendie" });
final String pageId = (String) page.get("id");
final String content = (String) page.get("content");
stringBuffer.append((String) client.execute("confluence1.renderContent", new Object[] { token,"Main", pageId, content }));
I tried final Map page = (Map) client.execute("confluence1.getPage", new Object[] { token, "Main", "Incendie?language=fr" });
but doesn't work
Hope you can help me

I found that when I rollback a page with Chinese name. It caused some
exceptions, and the rollback action fails. This problem only takes place in
IE6, in IE7, firefox, it's ok.
I believed it's encoding proble. Without clicked the rollback button on the
history page, I copied the rollback URL into IE6 adress field directly, and
go. It's OK. The difference is that when I clicked the rollback, xwiki use
pop-up window to confirm whether to rollback. But when I put the link in
adress field, xwiki confirm with me by normal page with yes and no button.
So I think the problem is the pop-up window. I go to historyinlin.vm and
find <pre><td class="xwikibuttonlink"> $tdoc.getURL(
$msg.get("core.versions.delete.single") </td></pre> I changed it to <pre><td
class="xwikibuttonlink"> $tdoc.getURL( $msg.get("rollback")</pre>
then it can rollback.

Hi everyone,
Yesterday was our second DocHour day day. The following bugs were
fixed: http://jira.xwiki.org/jira/secure/IssueNavigator.jspa?reset=true&&customfie…
- Jerome Velociter
XWIKI-1351 Write a tutorial for newcomers on how to create Java selenium tests.
- Artem Melentev
XWIKI-1211 Document the comment on page save feature
- Thomas Mortagne
XAWM-80 Improve wiki descriptor editor documentation
- Vincent Massol
XWIKI-2488 Improve Macro display in the Code Zone by removing the
Bundled With Skin attribute
XWIKI-1483 Document the {pre} macro
So that's a total of 5 distinct tasks around documentation
improvement. This is not much but not everyone had time with the 1.5M2
release very soon and bugfixing day to finish.
You can still do your doc hour and add it to this conversation.
Thanks everyone

Hi all,
i've a problem with pages present in more than one language.
Let's explain:
1. Main.WebHome was imported in with XAR import (english).
2. XWiki preferences parameters were modified (Multi Lingual: yes)(Languages: de,en)(Default Language: de)
3. Main.WebHome was called for edit. Panel "Document translations" offered to "translate this document in: de" - which one was choosen.
4. The english text was rewritten to german and saved.
Effect:
- $doc.translationList of global.vm template still says that there is no translationList. Only the default language can be choosen on wiki page.
- using http://localhost/xwiki/bin/view/Main/?language=de [http://localhost/xwiki/bin/view/Main/?language=de] german translations are seen until someone swich back to english with the language link in the page header.
Has someone a hint what we are doing wrong?
By now we have modified global.vm to be able to switch between the languages - allways displaying both possibilities. But we have also a problem with XAR export - it only exports the english pages (maybe allways the defaultLanguage pages).
Thanks for help in advance.

Hi community !
The second XWiki DocHour is planned on Thursday 19th of June.
So what is this DocHour thing ?
Here is the rules:
* 1 hour
* You choose at what time you want to work on the documentation.
* On xwiki.org
* You choose to document what you want. Ideas of missing documentation:
- In JIRA: http://tinyurl.com/3xtn8t
- Improve existing documentation
- XWiki Watch documentation on http://watch.xwiki.org
- XEM Documentation on http://manager.xwiki.org
- XWiki Workspaces Documentation http://workspaces.xwiki.org
* Make sure you create a jira issue for the work you're doing and
assign to yourself. The issue should be created in the XWiki Core
project, with a "documentation" component. Don't forget to tag it as
"dochour20080619" to be listed in the result of this event.
* If you can't do it on the the planned date, then you can still do it
on another day, as close as possible to the the 19th of June ;)
* The idea is to repeat this event every month or every 2 months.
You can look at the result of previous DocHour at
http://markmail.org/message/dm3kclit4g4s472v
Thanks everyones and hope we will soon have to allocate more space to
xwiki.org database ;)

Hello!
I'd like to be able to call a plugin right after the user saves a page. This
would be necessary to pass the new values of the object hold on that page
for the plugin, so that the changes of my XWiki objects could echo to my
plugin (that's because the plugin keeps a database that I want to edit via
XWiki pages).
I tried something like #if($context.action=="save") but it didn't work, I
guess the page is never actually "rendered" in that action, right?
So, anyone has any idea of how could I implement this?
Thanks,

Yes Joe, I am seeing the same problems. They started when I upgraded to v1.4. It's a very serious problem for my users, almost all of whom use the WYSIWYG editor instead of the wiki editor.

Been having some strange results with the editor, mostly raised by my users
(who're more used to the previous version of wysiwyg).. problems tend to
range from the following (bear in mind that the users involved are using
mainly the xwiki blog pages, updated to the correct version via the xar):
-- Lost chunks of text - usually related to the indent/bullet-point
feature. This is the most pressing issue..
-- "Strange" behavior of text - it puts a text box around random texts in
the edit page; making it hard to "group select" chunks of text
-- Loss of indentation, if indentation is used on paragraphs these are lost
when saving. It should be noted they are still there when you copy-paste
the text from the view layout.
-- Similar to indentation, loss of spacing - put 4 spaces before the first
word of a line, and it will render as 4 spaces when you save the first
time. However, go to the edit view and the spaces before the first word are
removed in the edit window, and if you save again spaces are removed from
the view as well permanently thereafter
-- "Strange" behavior of the bullet points - if you don't have a blank
bullet at the end of a block of bullet points, the last one is usually
removed.
Has anyone else had these issues, or perhaps have I got an odd setup? From
what I can see, this is affecting mainly documents created prior to
upgrading, however that's probably down to those being the documents users
have used so far.
Hi List,
if I understand correctly the current breadcrumb implementation shows
the hierarchy of a page, eg: with the following pages
Foo.Parent
Foo.Child
I'd get a trail on Foo.Child like this:
Foo: ParentF > ChildF
This is static information defined by the parent property of a page.
Is there a breadcrumb application that displays the way a user took
through our wiki?
Let's say we have
Bar.LinkToChild
Which links to Foo.Child. I'd like to have something similar to the
current breadcrumb trail that would display:
Bar: LinktToChild > Foo.ChildF
I know that people could use the back button to navigate back, but I
belief this would be a valuable extension to xwiki.
Regards
Stefan
Hi List,
I'd like to attach a couple of properties to a page, namely Roles and
Status Information.
Both are part of a workflow description, while Roles will be something
like Owner, Reviewer, Contributor, ... Status Information will most
likely be WIP, NeedReview, etc.
Is there an application already available doing this? If not are there
any plans on implementing something like this? And again if not can
someone please give me some pointers on how to implement something like
this.
Thanks in advance,
Stefan
My question was how do I implement your patch referenced at below link :)

I don't understand. You speak about java code ?
Before writing any code you should start create a jira issue on
http://jira.xwiki.org explaining what is the problem, how to reproduce it.
After that if you can propose a way to fix it or even attach a patch, it's
even better ;)
