Hi all,
XE 1.3.8295, Internet Explorer 7.0.5730.11
The rigth side column panels don't appear when accessing Main.WebHome
In any other place, it appears without any problem. For instance, in
Main.WebSearch or Panels.WebHome.
The same is true with either Albatross or Toucan skins, or whatever
other skin is defined in this box. Other virtual wikis in the same
installation are doing just fine. Safari, OmniWeb and Firefox correctly
show page.
Please, any idea? Thanks!

Hi everyone,
A few months ago we had discussed the possibility of offering a free
community-managed farm for non-business critical projects.
See http://tinyurl.com/69blgy
In short the ideas are:
1) No support guarantee. All support done on the xwiki.org user
mailing list by the community.
2) No stability guarantee. We would always install the latest Platform/
XE/XEM version on it and it would serve as a stability test for the
xwiki development team. Obviously the community will always try to
make it as stable as possible but that's not guaranteed. It's also
possible that the farm will be down a few days now and then. We'll try
to reduce this but no warranties.
3) There will be several members of the community who'll have admin
access on the farm.
4) It will be open to anyone. However the target users will be
technical people who can support themselves to some extent. We won't
control that but it'll be mentioned on the registration page. In any
case points 1) and 2) make it obvious that it shouldn't be used for
any business-critical wiki.
We're now announcing the myxwiki.org community farm at http://myxwiki.org
Note that the machine was donated by the XPertNet company (http://xwiki.com
). Thanks XPertNet! :)
Right now the following persons are admin on this farm:
* ThomasMortagne
* Marta
* Sergiu
* GuillaumeLerouge
* amelentev (Artem)
* Jerome Velociter
* jvdrean (Jean-Vincent)
* VincentMassol
Please note that all these people are doing this in their free time
and thus we're looking for more admins. If you're interested in
helping us manage this farm (and we hope there'll be plenty of you
interested) then please register a user and let me know and I'll make
you admin.
Here's what admins should do:
* work on improving the community farm content in general
* work on improving the way information is presented and navigation
* watch the recent changes and undo graffitis where needed
* create wikis for people who request them (there's a HTML form to
fill) - we'll need to decide if we want to make that self service or
not. Right now I suggest that people interested in getting a wiki
there send an email to the xwiki users list explaining what they want
to do with their new wiki and then one admin creates it for them.
* watch out for security holes
* suggest ideas to improve the farm
What everyone can do:
* edit and improve content for the non admins parts of the farm
* spread the word, blog about it, etc
Thanks
-Vincent on behalf of the XWiki community
Hello,
I dropped the "Recently viewed" Panels from the PanelWizard to my xwiki,
just below the Quicklinks Panel.
And now, I don't see the Quicklinks panel. It disappeared. How do I can
restore it and Why did this happen?
Thanks for all help.
Thanks
If your screen size is 1024 x 768 or smaller, the tab doesn't show up on
your screen. Try enlarging your browser or viewing it from a bigger

Thank You.

Hi,
I have to upgrade an xwiki installation, I exported the pages from old
version and installed new stand alone version(it is fine) but there is
no import tab in
http://localhost:8080/xwiki/bin/admin/XWiki/XWikiPreferences.
Anything wrong with me?
regards,
project trainees.
If I install xwiki in a VPS, and leave it running, with a firewall that
leaves open only the port that xwiki is using,
Could it be atacked by a hacker to gain access to the server?
Do I need some extra protection? Is there a security tutorial?
thanks

Hi all,
I have installed the XWiki enterprise and done the configurations
with the mysql. I could not able to invoke an macro call in my vm file. All
i know is the macro.vm carries all the functionality for the blog that we
design. Now when i try to add my own macros to the file macro.vm to
implement a functionality for my XWiki page i could not able to see the
changes on it.
Now my query is can we add in a macro functionality directly into the
macro.vm?
or Is there a way to add in our macros into the XWiki pack?
regards,
M.R.Sudhakar.

Jan,
Thankyou for the info. It sounds good. Your idea of using the subject is a
good idea. It would be good to be able to read in html email, but maybe in a
future version of the plugin.
Looking forward to using it when its ready.
Best Regards,
Richard

Hi Richard,
plugins reads mail subject. But if yout another idea how to make it, please
tell me that. Subject could have format like Main.WebHome or WebHome (in
this case, space Main is default)
Plugins works this way - every xwiki user has xwiki object which stores pop3
account and login/password. I made some GUI for this. This xwiki user will
be owner of every document. which will be downloaded from this email
address.
I used Scheduler plugin to check email account in preset period.
Plugin download mails from account and after that these mails are deleted
from account.
Plugin handles only email with plain text. It is possible to make support of
html emails, but there is question, if save xwiki pages in html format or
strip down the html tags? Or convert HTML to xwiki syntax? This can be easy,
if i know how to use xwiki render engine to do this job. In this time I
havent any idea.
And last thing - plugin doesnt support gmail, because gmail has secure pop3.

Jan,
Out of interest how does/will your plugin know where to store the email wiki
pages? Will it be able to look at an emails subject field or contents and
publish email wiki pages based on key words in these fields? Could
'rules'/wiki page code be created to determine where and how the email wiki
pages are created and maybe to create/update an index page to these email
wiki pages?
Best Regards,
Richard

hello. i found this on the official website of xwiki ( http://dev.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Design/DistributedXWikiSearchEngine )
- was this developed? " Week 11-12: Implementation of customized search depending on document types, Code documentation and User documentation"
still in strungle with search thing. if i copy the code from the FAq from the website. it does absolutely nothing. if i use Lucene Search it appears to do the search but it does not show them.
does anyone have a clue about these things? and why the don't work? :-|
Take care ,

Hai all,
I want to create a my own Template with new Header,Footer (CSS
work) and so on. I also have the mockup templates with me. Now i want to
override this Wiki default layout <which is from albatross -- Skin> to my
new Template of my desire. Is there any means that i can work on with the
Xwiki to create my own web design (for *content management system*) that
holds my mockup page as the default one instead wiki as a whole.
What steps should i take to proceed if i want to make changes to the
existing one.
I am done with the config with mysql and rest (with the xwiki pack). Please
help me out...!!!
Thanks in advance...!!!

Hi, I'm configurating the blog feature in xwiki enterprise
1.4-milestone-1 and there is one thing I would like to change.
When users create a new post, the properties (Title, Category, Content
and Extract) are edited in the Inline form mode.
But when something is edited with the Inline form, the first thing
appearing in the screen is a Comment edit box (together with the
Cancel, View, Save&Continue and Save&View buttons).
I'm afraid (and it already happened) that users will not read
"Comment" there and just start writing.
Is there a way to remove or to put that comment line with the same
buttons located at the bottom (not on top) of the screen?
Thanks

C. This happens with Firefox or IE 6. This happens more often when I connect from another machine not from the localhost.
D. Sometimes from the first time sometimes takes a couple of times to regenerate this.
I keep press on Login it keep adding a new redirect.
Many thanks

Jan,
Sounds fantastic! I look forward to using it and trying it out with our
marketing department so they can store and search their emails on XWiki.

Hi everyone,
Just to let you know that XWiki has a booth at JavaOne (actually
sharing the OW2 booth). Booth #212.
There are 3 XWiki committers present: Ludovic Dubost, Jean-Vincent
Drean and Vincent Massol.
If you're at JavaOne come and say hello!
See you there,
-Vincent
I need to install XKiki on an internet hosting account on Linux. I don't
know anything of Java...
I installed xwiki-enterprise-hsqldb-1.3.2.zip and it worked just fine.
As far as I undesrtand, this runs with the database in memory. Can I
just change that instalation so that I have the database in the disk? I
do not expect to have a big database, but I need to make online backups :)
Is there a reason why I should not try that?
I have no Java experience and it can be a lot to learn just to make the
install...
Thanks,
Alain
On the same note, I also have the following questions: The answers will help
implement whichever option we choose:
1) Is there a limit on the number of members that can belong to a group?
2) How can I create a "global" hashmap (xwiki.getHashMap()) that can be
referenced anywhere (any page/space) to retrieve values based on keys?
3) Can I use the $context to add some more values(needed for our project) to
the hashtable?
4) I came across the following code snippet int he Wiki editor of the
PanelWizard:
#set($categoryMap = $xwiki.getHashMap())
#foreach($category in $categoryList)
$!categoryMap.put($category, $xwiki.getArrayList())
#end
I do not understand the use of "!" in the put() method. what do we achieve
with this!
Thanks for all help!

Hi All,
This question "might" be related to the thread that has been active in the
past couple of days about the data model.
We have a similar situation with the only difference being that we want to
create lists or collections (like Groups) of certain pre- created Objects.
The Object as a whole may/will belong to more than one such collection -
which means that if we were to use a Document to link a Collection and its
contents, then every document will have a COPY of the same object and this
is definitely not desirable for good performance - Right?
So, in that case, we have 2 alternatives:
1) Use the techiniques used in XWiki to create Groups: each group has
objects of class XWikiGroup with just one field that refers to the Member
name. OR
2) Use XWiki.getHashmap() and add the Collection and its members to the
hashmap (as the Key and Value resp.)
The XWiki API indicates that the option #2 must be used in xwiki when
Objects can not be created.
My Question is:
-> Even though I could use option #1 and create objects and add them to the
document that would represent the Collection, can I still use option #2
because I think that it will provide better performance. Am I right in my
assumption? What should I do?
Thanks a lot for all help!
Hi ,
I am working on Blogs,
I want to add some more links when all the comments for an article is
getting displayed.
That is the page from where one can add more comments and can view all the
previous comments.
When I am putting the cursor on comments then it redirects me to some
xpage=comments.
can anyone help me to know from where the above mentioned page is coming
and where I can get the code for it.
thanks in advance.

Hello!
I wonder if you could help me out a little. I have just reinstalled Xwiki (emptied the tablespace), undeployed the old one and installed xwiki-enterprise-1.3.2 as a standalone war file. I did it by deploying it to the application server. The system runs Oracle Application Server and Oracle Database 10g. I can login (right now I have superadmin enabled), but when I try to create an account, nothing happens. When I check the logs I get:

Hi,
I've just upgraded the XWiki of my company from version 0.9.840 to
version 1.3.2 (latest stable version), using the "database copy" method
to copy data. Everything is OK now, but I cannot rollback any page to a
previous version in the history , even if the page is created in the new
installation (1.3.2).
I've got this error:

Any suggestion?

Hi all,
I am afraid the title of this thread is a bit pompous :-)
In fact the question seems to me to be an entry level object oriented
database design, but I am not able to make my mind about this. Your help
will be greatly appreciated!
Here a simple chart about the problem:
http://mire.environmentalchange.net/~webmaster/pdr/dataModelpdR.png
I have two ever-growing pools of data: providers and fishes. By
following the ToDo and FAQ tutorials, I "easily" could create and
instantiate the two classes but, how could I establish the relationship
between providers and fishes?
Thanks!

After importing the xar for XEM 1.2M2 into an empty mysql database
(per http://manager.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/AdminGuide/InstallationMySQL) I
am experiencing some odd behavior.
I can register as a new user, however, when trying to re-login as the user,
no indication is given that the login was successful. ( I can¹t get to any
edit¹ menus, etc...)
This also applies for Admin/admin ... I don¹t get a login failure but I
don¹t get a change in the panels either.
I did have some trouble getting the import to work (separate issue) - but it
did eventually succeed or so it seemed.
What¹s the best way to reset¹ the database (or otherwise overcome this
failure)?
Hi,
I'm using XWiki Enterprise 1.3.2 are have a simple question.
How do you do enable page section edits?
If I look at something like the sandbox pages, in between the "Training
Zone" heading and the "You can practice editing here..." text, there is a
horizontal rule and just below this on the right is a pencil icon which
links to
http://<host>/xwiki/bin/edit/Sandbox/WebHome?xpage=wysiwyg§ion=1
Examining the page source seems to show that this is the relevant code
<a style='text-decoration: none;' title='Edit section: Training Zone'
href='/xwiki/bin/edit/Sandbox/WebHome?xpage=wysiwyg&section=1'>edit</a>
but I can't find how to demarcate sections within a page and get the 'edit
button'.
I've looked at the User guide, searched the documentation for "section",
looked at the FAQs and searched the user forum.
I found these posts
http://www.nabble.com/Edit-sections-to14756105.html#a14756105http://www.nabble.com/xwiki.section.edit-to13625877.html#a13625877
but I have xwiki.section.edit=1 set already, and I'm using level 1 and 2
titles. I still don't get the 'edit button' on my pages, but it is there on
the sandbox pages.
Am I missing something obvious?
Many thanks
Chris
Hi all,
Please, is there any way of restricting visibility of a given user? I
mean, could a given user name1 be visible for name2, name3 and name5 and
remain hidden for name4? I am trying by denying access and if doesn't
seem to work.
I'm working with XE 1.3.8295.
Thanks!

Hi,
Does anyone know how to select files from a directory and have XWiki attach
all those files in that directory to a wiki page? I'm thinking I could have
a directory with a load of outlook emails copied there that would be useful
to attach and index in a wiki page so the emails can be searched within
XWiki - except Lucene doesn't seem to be able to search attached Outlook
email files as I've just discovered.
What I want is to be able to get emails into XWiki so say a marketing
department could search on them - is there another way?
Regards,
Richard

Maybe the export code needs refactoring so it can't produce empty files, and
maybe the import code needs to be more robust so it doesn't produce an
exception if it fails to read anyone file, but produces an message to flag
up the problem but continues processing the other files so the import
doesn't fail completely because of one file. I wish I had some to time to

That should work fine. So you need to tell us what error you get in
the xwiki logs.
Also make sure you click only once and you wait enough. If your XAR is
large it'll take time to display the items.
BTW what's the size of your XAR?

Hi,
We've just installed Workspaces for our students to use but have a
problem with space rights. When an student is added as an Author to a
space they can see the space in My Memberships but are unable to view or
edit the space. When they are added as a Reader they can see the space
in My Memberships, cannot view the space but can edit the space. We are
able to use Admin to go in and correct the space rights manually but
this will become unworkable as Workspaces become more used. Have we
made an error or is there a fix? It appears that space rights are
reversed?
Thanks
Graeme

In a client/server Xwiki/MySQL configuration, where are the appropriate
locations to specify max_allowed_packet?
(In attempting to import the XEM xar, I am getting an error indicating this
may be the cause... The mysql server has the parameter set in /etc/my.cnf)

I would like to execute an export of all/some of the wiki pages in a
batch mode (ex. with a script and a java program). In the same way I
would like to execute an import.
Is there a easy way to do this?
thanks,
Lorenzo
Hello all,
So far I had been working on my standalone wiki installation and created
some pages, preferences, groups etc.
Now, we want to start using a (x)wiki set up on a server and want to move
all my changes to that.
Is there a short, elegant way to do this? (I know we can import stuff..but I
don't know what can be imported? (or would I just have to copy/repeat all
the changes manually)
Thanks
Hi guys,
I'm totally new to lighty (Apache user) and I need some help (again). I
would
like to have something like that:
NameVirtualHost xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:80
>
> <VirtualHost xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:80>
> ServerName domain.com
> ServerAlias www.domain.com
> DocumentRoot /var/www/user/folder/
> <Directory "/var/www/user/folder/">
> Options -Indexes Includes FollowSymLinks
> AllowOverride All
> Allow from all
> </Directory>
> Options +FollowSymLinks
> RewriteEngine On
>
> RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/xwiki2(/.*)?$ [NC]
>
> RewriteRule ^/$ http://www.domain.com/xwiki
> ProxyPass /xwiki http://www.domain.com:8082/xwiki
> ProxyPassReverse /xwiki http://www.domain.com:8082/xwiki
>
> ProxyPass /xwiki2 http://www.domain.com:8082/xwiki2
> ProxyPassReverse /xwiki2 http://www.domain.com:8082/xwiki2

How can I achieve that in lighty? I tried to understand (really!) the
documentation provided by lighty, but they are very confusing to me.
Any help is much appreciated (sorry that it's not quite a XWiki topic...)!
Cheers,
Squirrel
hi,
I am trying XWS with short url again. I understand there is known problem
but as the exception behave is different in XWS 1.0 in compare to the beta
version I tested before, I'd like to see if you guys have idea. Attached is
a shorten stacktrace of the exception.
My xws app is deployed as ROOT.war to JBoss and I've configured
xwiki.showviewaction=0 . The XWiki platform seems to work fine before
importing the XWS xar. The correct URL is suppose to be /bin/XXXX because
the /bin/ short url shouldn't work yet and I *didn't change* the servlet
mapping from /bin/* to /*. After loaded the XWS xar, it redirects me to
/xwiki by default, and gives the attached exception on screen.
I'll wait for a while to see if anyone have idea before submitting a Jira
issue. Thank you very much.
Regards,
mingfai
When importing a xar into one of my virtual wiki's, I found that my base
wiki had then part of the same import against itself at the same time
(particularly skin changes to go back to default). The other virtual
wiki's were left untouched.
Two questions on this behaviour:
* Is this expected?
* If so... why? I would expect the opposite - changing the base
wiki to affect the virtual wiki's - but not from virtual to base.
The only thing that appears to have been affected are skin based; so
it's not too crucial; I'm concerned though that future changes to
virtual wiki's are going to override other factors of my base (eg
groups)
Hello all -
I tried to deploy XWiki with the
xwiki-enterprise-installer-generic-1.3.2.jar file using java -java
xwiki-enterprise-installer-generic-1.3.2.jar. The install appeared to work
fine. However, when I click Start Wiki Enterprise, or run the .sh script,
the following exceptions appear in the shell window. I'm running on SLES10
SP1 Linux with IBM Java. Thanks in advance for any help.
Starting Jetty on port 8080 ...

Hi,
lately I've had problems with XWiki and Tomcat running on Windows Server 2003. The login's via Active Directory. About 10 people worked with the wiki when Tomcat CPU load suddenly increased to 100%. Only rebooting it helped :-( To work with the system is impossible, since the problem occured three times in three hours of "work"...
In a quick view inside the logfiles i saw a bunch of ldap group mapping errors - although group mapping is disabled in the config file!
I can check the logfiles in detail on Monday.
Does anyone experience the same problem / does anyone have an idea on how to search for the reason?
cya,
Steve

That should work fine. So you need to tell us what error you get in
the xwiki logs.
Also make sure you click only once and you wait enough. If your XAR is
large it'll take time to display the items.
BTW what's the size of your XAR?

Hi all,
I've exported from xwiki enterprise hsqldb 1.2 milestone 2 and tried to
import into xwiki enterprise hsqldb 1.3.2 by attaching the exported file,
but when I click on the attached file it doesn't list the exported files
within so I can import them.
Anyone know how to get my pages from 1.2 to 1.3.2?
Regards,
Richard

Hi, I want to delete all documents in recycle bin, but I don't know how. I
searched in Administration page, but do not see any links refer to recycle
bin.

I have copied the albatross skin folder over to the new skin I wanted to
create, let's call it newskin.
Then I created a space and set the space prefs to that newskin.
Then I used the panel wizard to change the default layout to three columns.
Then I used firebug to make changes to screenlayout.css until I got my new
narrow panel columns and things like left margins and so forth to line up
including the menu pads on left and right, etc.
Now I have my left panel width at 54px and the right panel width at 54px
(both will be just a column of buttons when I am done.
I created a left panel with only content with #panelheader('NAV') and I got
my narrow panel on the left, cool.
So I created a right side panel with a different header #panelheader('GUI')
But that didn't show on the right, it showed on the left under the first
one.
If I show right panels and leave the Right Panesl pref blank I get the
default panels like Quick Links., but they dont' show on the right, they
show on the left under the one above.

Is the Video Macro working fine with the current version (HEAD) of XWiki?
I'm trying here, I upload it and made the configuration as indicated but
instead of the video it just shows me the script code.
I tried on the playground area and it didn't work either (but there I don't
know if it is configured).
Thank you,

(got a bounce from the listserv, so I am resending)
Are there any specific directions on setting up a distributed
xwiki/MySQL deployment?
I am following the steps I was able to find in the administration guide
on xwiki.org, but I am getting some 'surprising' results.
Before I ask the questions here, I wanted to make sure I was using the
'right' directions.
Thanks in advance,

Hi,
I've just upgraded the XWiki of my company from version 0.9.840 to
version 1.3.2 (latest stable version), using the "database copy" method
to copy data. Everything is OK now, but I cannot rollback any page to a
previous version in the history , even if the page is created in the new
installation (1.3.2).
I've got this error:

I use a MySQL database (v. 5.0) and Tomcat (v. 6.0.16) as servlet container.
Any suggestion?
Thanks a lot!

Again, in spite of this message, the new file seems correctly attached
to the document.
I've found this http://jira.xwiki.org/jira/browse/XWIKI-1811. It seems
that upload_maxsize was already set to 32Mb last year. Or at least the
upload_maxsize was included by default in XWiki.XWikiPreferences class.
I can see the property, but I am not able to find the field in
Administration.
Please, does this any sense for you? What kind of issue I am facing
here? I don't know if this error could be "dangerous" for our database
integrity or we can survive with it.
Thank you so much for your help,
Ricardo

I am migrating our documentation to Xwiki, however, when I cut and paste a
word document, the inserted screenshot images do not show. Is there a
solution to this? I have thousands of pages, so attaching images
individually is not really an option.
Thanks

Hi all,
Could it be possible/has anybody considered this option to stream video
from XWiki? I mean, once a short spot is attached to a XWiki document,
add video streaming capability?
I guess this depends more upon the servlet container features than on
XWiki by itself, but it will be great if anybody had this idea... and
solved it :-)
Thanks for your help,
Ricardo

Is it possible to attach a file directly from the server to an xwiki
document? For example, in my case I run a batch of PDF reports overnight
(using the Quartz scheduler). I would prefer to be able to attach this
generated file directly to an xwiki document for the user to access the
details as needed.
The only problem is I can't seem to find any way to do this. Is this
possible to do?
Hello all,
After following the FAQ tutorial and managing to do it as specified, I
wanted to do a form that would be always editable, without the user having
to click on the 'Edit -> Inline form' menu. I saw the method displayEdit and
used it instead of the display one, but now I don't know how to submit this
data in order to alter the document objects.
What's the action I must pass to the getURL method? I tried "save" but it
didn't work. (By the way, are all possible actions documented somewhere? I
found this "save" one after browsing generated HTML code).
Or instead of that, is there a way to set the "Edit inline form" as the
default view for a document? (I would still be interested in the previous
solution so I could render the form buttons myself, but this one would be
fine too)
Thank you,

Hello all,
I have a table for a list of abbreviations and I need to sort that table based on the first letter in each abbreviation.
For example
{table}
Apple
Banana
Doner
{table}
When the user edits the table and add for example a new word with A. I want it ot be inserted in the right position.
More or less I have some contents in a form of a list or a table and I want to sort them automatically after any edit or addition.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers

Hello all!
I am new to XWiki and I am trying to create a new skin. Although I can successfully locate all of the major changes I need to make in the style sheets and vm files, I cannot change nor find where "Comments" or "Attachments" is located because I desire to change the font style and size of this on all of the pages. Does anyone have any idea where this is located?
Thanks,
Douglas

Guillaume,
This is a personal opinion, so take with a grain of salt.
I think that by not giving a user an easy way to edit their post, it could
actually lead to a greater chance of abuse. Your suggestion for how to
correct spelling errors enables a user to edit anyone's post (not just their
own). I know it would be very hard to take the object edition out, as it
seems to be in the xwiki engine itself.
My suggestion is to go ahead and implement an edit function, perhaps right
next to the "quote this message" link, so that users are encouraged to edit
their own posts in an easy way. I believe this would prevent users from
going on a hunt to find out how to edit and discovering the power that they
have in editing objects.
Warm regards,
Forrest

Hi List,
I need to alter the URL the contained in the WatchList eMails.
Our machine is behind am apache mod_proxy setup, this reachable like
this:
http://foo.com/
The URLs un the eMails will contain something like this:
http://foo.com:8081/
which is not reachable from the outside.
I tried to locate the spot where these URLs are generated, but was
unable to find it.
Can someone please point me to a place, document, ... where I can find
how to change this?
thanks in advance,

Hi,
xwiki is great think - but for a business enviroment i am trying to use it
know is not suitable. I learned users how to use wiki , how to write pages
using wysiwyg editor.
And there is the problem wysiwyg -- creation of tables not working - users
will write whole document with nice tables and lot of colours save it, and
the result is table:null or table: TableMacro: missing content.
Any tips for improvements?
Thanks guys,
David

Hi, I've got Fedora core 8 running. I installed tomcat5 with example
webapps and it works. I tried to install xwiki but it doesn't: I've
gote an error 404. So I installed jetty to use it but I've got the
same problem. Any ideas?
I've got nothing on the log (exept error 404)
It seems that this is the same problem as reported in http://jira.xwiki.org/jira/browse/XWIKI-2123.
I'm using XWiki 1.1 (1.1.2.5797).
Does anybody know a workaround for this issue?

Hi at all!
How can I configure an external page to read some XWIKI WebRss Feed??
I've tried with google gadget, and with a Javascript function but don't work...
It's the first time I approach with Rss, so I'm sorry if the question is out of meaning for XWiki developer..
Have I to register something of my XWiki? I think not... So if you can tell me what I can do, or a fast tutorial for RssFedd, I'll thanks a lot..
Bye!

Hi!
I would like to modify text into Comments and attachments panel, and if possible, also the text of buttons in the editing area, like "save and continue"... in Italian Language..
I can't find this objects or panel.
I don't think it need to change some template.. so there should be a page to go for settings this properties..right?
Thanks,
Riccardo.

Hi,
when i create a list with the WYSIWYG editor in Internet Explorer (6 or 7),
every item of the list is put into a div:
"1 Test
1. {style:type=div}asdfsadf{style}
test
* {style:type=div}asdfsadfasd{style}
* {style:type=div}asdfasdfasdf{style}
* {style:type=div}asdfsdfsad{style}"
We couldnt find this as a bug in JIRA. Does anyone have the same problem or
even better a solution?
Thanks
Helmut

The XWiki development team is pleased to announce the release of XWiki
Workspaces 1.0 RC 2.
Go grab it at http://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Main/Download
This is the second, and hopefully last release candidate for the 1.0
version of XWiki Workspaces. This RC 2 release is based on the recent
XWiki Enterprise 1.3.2 release.
Bug we've fixed in XWS since 1.0 RC 1 :
* XWS-10 - Missing validation on workspaces creation form
* XWS-14 - Document creation lightboxes not visibles if the page is scrolled
* XWS-18 - Gallery editing page is a bit screwed up in IE6 & IE7
* XWS-40 - Lightboxes are displayed _real_ bad in IE6
* XWS-44 - Problem with the item creation popup : when we "Cancel & Close"
(the X in the upper-right corner) we are redirected to "undefined"
* XWS-45 - After a registration we should be redirected to
XWSAdmin.ManageUsers (instead of just having an empty page with the
"Registration Successfull" message)
* XWS-48 - The new workspace creation form could be a bit reskinned (on
the XWS.MySpaces page)
* XWS-51 - A user should not be allowed to delete Himself from his
Personnal Space
* XWS-52 - The Administrator (Admin / admin) should not be displayed OR
not be allowed to remove himself from the Admin list of the Organization
Space
* XWS-53 - If we have a workspace title on more than 1 line (around more
than 45-50 characters - space included) the layout is a bit broken
* XWS-57 - Problem when we create a link to a image page - parameter
'viewer=image' is missing
* XWS-67 - There is two links leading to the current user profile in the
top action bar
* XWS-68 - Workspace creation form should be under the workspace list
* XWS-71 - The "Comments" message is too big compared to page title and
other font sizes
* XWS-73 - Under IE browsers, the Admin XWiki toolbar does not work properly
* XWS-75 - Preview fails on unsaved (new) blog article
* XWS-76 - Non-admin registered users can edit but not view their profile
* XWS-78 - Layout issue in edit mode under IE6 (white banner on top +
scrolling disappearing)
For more information, see the Release notes at:
http://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Main/ReleaseNotesWorkspaces10RC2
Regards,
The XWiki dev team
Thanks for the tips ;)

I just got an exception when trying to update a wiki page with a link.
The page I try to link to is named "Byggsystemet" in space "Utveckling".
Does anybody know why this happen and if there is a workaround?

Welcome aboard to all students! Please make sure you read and
understand the "Suggested way of working for SOC students" on
http://dev.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/GoogleSummerOfCode/
More specifically it's now the bonding period. As such we'd like each
SOC student to pick one or several existing issues in JIRA and send a
patch that fixes it/them before that period ends (from April 14th to
May 26th) This is a critical integration step to ensure all SOC
students understand how XWiki works and it's a chance to start asking
questions and get to know each other.
Thanks a lot

I have created the class Contacts.ContactClass. This class has three string
properties "firstname", "surname" and "phone1". I have also created two
instances of this class and filled out the attributes.
Now, it should be straight forward to write a Velocity script to seach for
all objects with the given class type of "Contacts.ContactClass" and write
out the attributes but I'm having some trouble. Below is my script:
#set($query="select obj from BaseObject obj where
obj.className='Contacts.ContactClass'")
#set($results=$xwiki.search($query, 10, 1))
#foreach ($item in $results)
$item.get("firstname") | $item.get("surname") | $item.get("phone1") <br />
#end
However this does not work. All I get is:
$item.get("firstname") | $item.get("surname") | $item.get("phone1")
$item.get("firstname") | $item.get("surname") | $item.get("phone1")
When I run:
#set($query="select obj from BaseObject obj where
obj.className='Contacts.ContactClass'")
#set($results=$xwiki.search($query, 10, 1))
#foreach ($item in $results)
$item
#end
I get:
Contacts.Tjaart 0 Contacts.ContactClass
Contacts.Jane 0 Contacts.ContactClass
Which is incorrect. Please help, I've been struggling for quite a while and
getting really frustrated.
Thanks.
I would be very interested in using XWiki Watch to watch content in multiple
XWiki sites. We are building a SaaS Development Platform with XWiki as one
of the cornerstones of the solutions we build for our partners.
So we would love to have our Intranet XWiki with XWiki Watch in it, monitor
the RSS feeds from our customer's XWikis
Netvibes seems to be able to login and retrieve XWiki RSS feeds but XWiki
Watch cannot unless it is public, which none of our customers want a public
RSS feed.
So what would it take to get XWiki Watch to connect to XWiki XE RSS feeds
when those feeds are not public?

Hi all,
I've been working on a project that requires multiple classes fields to
be updated, but I seem to have a problem putting info into a textarea on
one of the classes attached.
The "xmlResults" field is getting populated fine (there's four of them),
but the "labelImage" doesn't. I have tried putting the data in manually
from the Objects view, and the property accepts the data happily so I
don't think it's hitting some sort of limit.
Note: ${image} is a base64 image that I am displaying. The image
displays happily, so I know the ${image} value is being obtained.
....
<snipped>
$mainDocObj.set("xmlResults", $talksToGroovy.getResults())
$doc.save()
#foreach($box2 in $boxes)
#set($ref=box2.getProperty("ref").value)
$box2.set("labelImage", $talksToGroovy.getImage($ref)))
<img width='700px' height='400px'
src='data:image/gif;base64,${image}'/>
$doc.save()
#end
