You can use the "hibernate.query.substitutions" option in your
hibernate.cfg.xml configuration file to map boolean values to int
values.

Subject: [xwiki-users] SQL Schema problem
I am trying to install xwiki with postgresql 8.1. The binary version
does not work as it tries to set an int field with a boolean value (or
was it the other way around - I forget).
So I pulled the SVN version in case this had been fixed, and it would
seem that this problem no longer exists, but then I hit another problem,
the schema that the was with the binary version is not right. But in
the SVN version I can not find the new schema. Does anyone have it, or
can it be generated?
Regards
David
We rolled back our front page to view an earlier version and now we can't roll it forward again, the history page says "cannot read document version". Why is this? Is it likely to change or should we re-write the front page? Is this problem likely to occur when we are paying for the service.

Hi all,
I've recently added an xwiki.com xwiki for my company and I'm getting an
error when I try to register users:
Error: An error occured during the registration process
(-1).
Xwiki: daiwa.xwiki.com
Excluding the "How much" question, I fill in the same data on my offline
Xwiki with no problems.
Also, I managed to successfully register a user before the xwiki.com
server was down yesterday using same fields (different details) - so at
one time this did work.
<<PBrush>>
This is happening regardless of username/password/etc.

Has anyone deployed XWiki in eXo v2 (the current version)?
When I tried that a few weeks ago all I got was exceptions.
A few days ago, the eXo portlet container 1.3 and the final release of the
complete eXo v2 ECM bundle was released. Did you try to deploy XWiki in
there already?
Thanks

Hi, Ludovic,

Hi all,
I'm looking at an XWiki 0.9.840 instance here with an unusual problem.
Often, users are not correctly added to the XWikiAllGroup when their
account is created. It appears to be an intermittent problem.
Looking at the log, I see a bunch of stack traces like the one below.
Hibernate is running into duplicate key issues when persisting to DB.
I suspect this is related.
Any ideas how this could be happening? Anyone seen anything similar?

Robin

Hi,
in the standard XWiki installation, there is a form in the menu to add
news. This form uses the article template.
How do I add a form that uses no special template? I.e. I want to get
the same page I get when creating a new, empty document
(edit/Main/NotExistingDocument)?
I found HowToCreateADocumentTemplate and DocumentTemplateExample. But
when I use this, a document is created from this template, but the user
does not get the textarea (or WYSIWYG editor) to actually change the
document:
#includeTopic("xwiki:XWiki.XWikiCommonJavascript")

Title:

Thanks,
Michael

Hi All,
Does any find that the way line breaks are handled are a bit counter
intuitive. For example, if I enter:
line1
line2
you get:
line1line2
so to get results that you would normally expect, you would have to do
something like:
line1
line2
which is pretty ugly. I thought I can live with it but it's starting to bug
me too much.
Suggestions?
Duke
Hi, Ludovic,
One of my sites, http://www.swrrg.org/
is displaying big area error messages. It was fine last time I saw it.
Is this caused by upgrade?

Jean-Vincent,
Thank you very much!
I hope our XWiki site will function well during the next 3 weeks. Our conference depends on it. This could be a success story for XWiki.

Hi,
Is there any way thru which I can access the reference to the most recently accessed links ( say last 5 links) ?
Is there any way to set cookies, or session or application variables?

Vishal
Hi
Is the xwiki hosting site down for hours at a time at weekends? We
have found several times that we can't get at the main site or our
own 2 wikis, even though we can still ping the host. Seems to be back
again now.

Hi,
We're trying to use xwiki as a portlet in a JBoss portal. We would like to
authenticate our xwiki users through the mecanism in JBoss Portal. Is there
any way to do that?
Many thanks,

Hi.
I need to install xwiki on a debian sarge machine. Unfortunately, the
mysql-dummy file uses syntax that doesn't work with the sarge-version
4.0.25 of MySQL.
Can anyone who already did the installation on sarge share his changed
file? Or is there a way to install without dummy db?
Thanks

There is a save button on the right side (top button).

You can add your own.
You could go in the More Actions menu, look for wiki preferences and try to
locate the default skin. There should be some code there.

I followed these steps and it worked for me.
To solve the blank field, I did go to the default wiki skin (object) and I
copy-pasted the code in my skin object.

Could you create a css file, store it as an attachement to your first page
(the one you didn't create) and then add a link element to reference it...?

I've seen some references to this, and even an XML package file for one
application project, but no clear idea of how to create or consume a
package of XWiki documents for export.
Has a publicly available script been built to accomplish this? I'm sure
that it wouldn't be a monstrous effort, but would of course like to have
a common tool to use.

Hello,
I am suddenly facing this problem when I try to edit a page in xwiki.
The changes get saved when I refresh the url however on saving it gives
the following stack trace.
Any ideas why this happens and how to avoid it?
Regards,
Mrudula

I m not able to access the class files required to make the class editor wizard. It says 'you do not have access'.
Appreciate any help regarding this.

Hi there,
how can I configure xwiki to use ldaps:// instead of ldap://
to access our company wide LDAP server?

Heya Folks,
Somehow there's a less-than character inserted into the footer of my XWiki (version 0.9.840), the bottom-left-corner of the pages look like this:
Main.WebHome (en)
Creator: Admin Date: 2005/02/06 18:46
Last Author: Admin Date: 2006/07/19 09:36
<
For the time being i've commented out the last four lines in the file footer.vm:
#if($context.getMode()==0)

#end
As they result in the following code being inserted at the end of each document:
<

Any suggestions as to how to get rid of the "<" being generated?
Mazzzel,
Martijn.
hello,
I've done something very stupid with my xwiki acces rights
on my wiki: http://timdropanalyzer.xwiki.com
Groups:
Access Levels: admin, edit, view, comment
Users:
Allow/Deny: deny
now i'cant modify my acces rights anymore, is there a way to reset them?
Greetingzzz,
Tim
Hello Adrain,
This is precisely what I am working on now. I did not really check
whether Xwiki integrates with any forum.
The approach I took is to write a stand alone java application, which
reads the mails from my mailbox or forum's mail box and creates
documents into XWiki.
The documents automatically show up when you invoke them based on the
web and name.

Subject: [xwiki-users] Forum system that integrates with XWiki?
(Apologies for the repost - damn digital signatures)
Is there a forum system that integrates with XWiki (most particularly,
the search and authentication functions of XWiki)?
Some of my users want me to direct mailing lists into a forum system and
have them searchable from the XWiki search page as an additional
section.
Suggestions are welcome.

Hello,
I accidently deleted my admin rights on my onetolk.xwiki.com and don't have
permission to put them back.
Is there any way to fix this?

This message was sent using IMP 3.2.8, the Internet Messaging Program.
When I go to Admin->Skins, the header, footer, etc. sections are empty - the
only bit that is filled in is the stylesheet.
I want to "edit" the bit with the logo and the Parent > Page and the
login/version information in it. Can I just copy and paste the appropriate
code from templates/header.vm into this section?
-Adrian
Hello,
When I choose a name for my document and I submit with "Add this item", I'm
redirected to a form to fill in the content of the news item.
But there is a problem.
All the input fields are gone. I can't fill in a thing.
I hope someone has a solution for this.
Greetz.

Just visited wikimatrix.org again for the first time in several months,
and it's not only much expanded but much improved. Two things should be
of interest the XWiki community:
The XWiki entry on wikimatrix is a little thin. For one thing, I think
it's wrong on a couple of counts.
There is a forum there which is sitting idle. This is a fabulous
opportunity to get some exposure.

Hi folks,
I'm having trouble installing xwiki and looking for advice. I'm new
to tomcat so I suspect the problem is something simple that I've
overlooked.
System is Debian unstable with tomcat5 and mysql5. The Tomcat default
page looks fine at http://localhost:8180/, and the JSP and servlet
examples there work fine.
I followed the directions on Linux+Tomcat+MySQL and
InstallerXWikiSurDebianInstable
The instructions are a little confusing as to where I should copy
xwiki-0.9.840.war. The instructions at
InstallerXWikiSurDebianInstable say to copy it to
/usr/share/tomcat5/server/webapps/xwiki.war
When I do that and restart tomcat5, the xwiki.war file is not found
(no xwiki directory is created).
The instructions at Linux+Tomcat+MySQL say to copy the war file to
tomcat5/webapps/xwiki.war
When I do that and restart tomcat5,
/var/log/tomcat5/catalina_2006-07-10.log reports:
INFO: Installing web application at context path /xwiki from URL file:/var/lib/tomcat5/webapps/xwiki

javax.servlet.ServletException: Exception processing TLD at resource path /WEB-INF/struts-logic.tld in context /xwiki

Any advice would be much appreciated!
Best,
John
Is there a way to obtain a dump of the database for Oracle ? Even a small
one could be right (but if the dump is huge, this goes well too).
I'm askking 'cause on the official xwiki website there only a MySQL Version.
Could someone, send me a dump with some pages or tell me where to found such
a thing ?
Thanks.

On the right side of the text editor in xwiki give you some hints
about the syntax. To create a link to a attachment you can do
{image:filename.gif} inserts an image
{attach:filename.doc} creates a link
getAttachmentURL() returns the URL which you can use with the
HTML tag directly.
Bye
Frank
I'm trying to put a link in my document that links to an attachment. I
thought it was this way:
* [File 1>$xwiki.getAttachmentURL("Main.Thispage", "file1.pdf"]
But, when I actually do this (on 0.9.840), I get this link:
/xwiki/bin/edit/%2Fxwiki%2Fbin%2Fdownload%2FMain%2FThispage%2Ffile1/pdf?pare
nt=Main.Thispage
Which doesn't look like an attachment URL.
1) Is getAttachmentURL() just broken, or am I mis-interpreting it's
function (since there is no javadoc for it)
2) How do I get the URL to an attachment on the same page when I want to
link to it but give it a different link name?
Thanks,
-Adrian

I rolled back to the English version and fixed the link for the API doc.
http://www.xwiki.com/xwiki/bin/view/Doc/HowToCreateASkin
The default templates and styles seem to have moved/become
inaccessible on some wikis on the farm but not others.. maybe they are
still accessible only on the wikis that were moved to the alternative
server. For example you can access them through this wiki:
Default Styles: http://openmpt.xwiki.com/xwiki/skins/default/
Default Templates: http://openmpt.xwiki.com/xwiki/templates/
They will be identical on all hosted wikis since these are the default
files on the file system that the skin falls back to if they are not
overridden - you can't edit 'em unless you can get to the file system.
However, I have not "fixed" these links, since I think it is
conceptually better that they point to the files on the main sites
(xwiki.com or xwiki.org). Can someone enlighten us as to where these
default templates / styles have gone?

I just recently made an XWiki and need to change the
colors to the articles the users make. I need the
background to be black and the text white. How can I
change this?

Hi,
I am new to XWiki and am currently trying to set up a local test
system. I downloaded the latest war and mysql -dump, did all the
configuration and even the troubleshootinghints (copying jars to
tomcat/common) but I still get this error:
I guess the key is "could get JDBC batch update" ...
Its mysql 4.1.15 as it comes with ubuntu dapper an tomcat 5.5.16 on
JRE5 (1.5.06)
Anyone with an idea?

I have created several wiki pages logged in as the Admin - It appears that
the pages created as admin are not editible by normal users.
Is there a way to change these pages so that they are editible by a specific
group or user?
I have trired to correct this by creating Page aAccess Rights to the
specific page with edit rights, but yet it still does not allow them to edit
these pages.
Am I missing something or what?

Your right, I not clear enough.
I want to set a field in a form to read only by default: a javascript
will made it writable later if required.
Proposed solution made a full read only form.

This is one of those long-time gotchas about wikis: that migrating from
one to another is potentially painful. However, this isn't really about
that.
What I'd really like to do is get a lot of content out of the MS Word
docs that we still end up having to attach, in order to facilitate
collaborative development on them. Even if we have to reconvert them to
suit other people's requirements, I think it would be well worth the
trouble to work on them in XWiki syntax.
Of course, Word can save as HTML, and HTML will work on an XWiki page,
but without the ease of editing offered by wiki syntax, the benefits
would be greatly reduced.
Has anyone thought (or done) anything about condensing reasonably
well-structured HTML into equivalent XWiki syntax?

When copying a document using $xwiki.copyDocument(), I find that all the
attached objects are copied along with the document, and I am able to
view them appropriately. However, they are not available to other
users, and when I call $xwiki.flushCache(), only the document content
remains; the objects are no longer attached.
A further detail, whether relevant or not, is that the document being
copied is a user profile document (defined as a document named
XWiki.<username>, where <username> is the login name of the user, and
containing an XWiki.XWikiUsers object).
Yet another detail, puzzling though it may be, is that of the objects in
the original, one of them is the one defined in the xwiki-db-0.9.2.sql
database download as an object of XWiki class XWiki.XWikiRights with ID
165499024, with a field named "levelsye". It's one of two
XWiki.XWikiRights objects attached to a user profile document by
createUser; the other one explicitly gives edit permission to the user
himself. No other XWiki.XWikiRights objects contain this field, nor
does the current definition of the XWiki.XWikiRights class contain it;
instead they contain a field called "levels".
So, the questions are, in order of (logarithmically) decreasing
importance:
1. How can I make this work?
2. Does a user profile document have some special status that makes it
inappropriate to make a copy?
3. Is the "levelsye" field in an object simply a bug, or is there some
arcane reason for its existence?

I added some cache clustering code to xwiki:

You may need to tweak it a bit as mentioned in the above message.

G'day All,
Is there anyway to share the XWiki cache?
Environment:
* XWiki version 0.9.840
* Database Oracle 9.2
* Application Server = Sun Java System Application Server 7
I have this scenario: one database DB-0, two application servers, AS-1
and AS-2. Two instances of XWiki: X-1 running on AS-1 connecting to
DB-0, and X-2 running on AS-2 connecting to DB-0.
Page updates made via X-1 do not immediately appear when viewed via X-2.
This is presumably because X-1 and X-2 maintain their own caches.
Is there anyway for X-1 and X-2 to share the same cache, or synchronise
the caches when a change is made? I notice that there are some vague
references to clusters in XWikiCacheStore.java but I don't see any
mechanism for triggering a refresh of other caches after a local cache
update.
I've tried turning caching off as a work around but that causes an
unacceptable performance hit.
Thanks, John

Hi, Ludovic,
I am trying to convince the central New Jersey (in USA) area to set up the Einstein's Alley Web site (regional economic group) based on XWiki. It will bring lots of usage and exposure to XWiki. Could you move einsteinsalley.xwiki.com to a separate server also. Thanks.

Actually I saw that code. The simplest fix I could figure was this...
In the page http://.../xwiki/bin/edit/XWiki/WebRssCode,
I replaced this line

with

The fix however omits the timezone.
There is java code at http://www.dpawson.co.uk/relaxng/schema/datetime.html
which handles the timezone as well.
The SimpleDateFormat pattern "yyyy-MM-dd'T'HH:mm:ss.SSSZ" is close as it gives
2005-06-29T17:20:46.171-0800
This however does not work because of the missing colon. It needs to
be 2005-06-29T17:20:46.171-08:00
The simplest way seems to be to use commons-lang utilities
DateFormatUtils.ISO_DATETIME_TIME_ZONE_FORMAT.format(new Date())
Since commons-lang is already part of the distribution is there a easy
way to add this code? I just don't know how to incorporate it in here
at this point due to unfamiliarity with velocity, groovy etc.
Thanks very much.

Sudhir

G'day Guillaume,
I found my earlier post with some code that should help you get started with Oracle - check out: http://mail-archive.objectweb.org/xwiki-users/2006-03/msg00001.html. I also suggest that you browse the archive around the time of the referenced message because Srinivasa Pulugurtha also posted some relevant information.
Cheers, John

Subject: Re: [xwiki-users] Xwiki and Oracle
What I did :
1. change the content of the original "WEB-INF/hibernate.cfg.xml" with
<property name="connection.url">jdbc:oracle:thin:@[serveradd]:[sport]:[dbname] </property>
<property name="connection.username">[user]</property>
<property name="connection.password"> [password]</property>
<property name="connection.driver_class">oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver</property>
<property name="dialect"> org.hibernate.dialect.OracleDialect</property>
2. change the content of the original "WEB-INF/web.xml" with
<init-param>
<param-name>encoding</param-name>
<param-value>UTF-8</param-value>
</init-param>
3. append/change the content of the original "WEB-INF/xwiki.cfg" with
xwiki.encoding=UTF-8
xwiki.store.hibernate.updateschema=1
4. I drop all the tables
5. I start the server and go to "http://localhost:8080/xwiki/bin/view/Main/WebHome"
This lead following errors :

What are exceptions/errors you are noticing when you use Oracle?
I have XWiki working on Oracle, with some good help on this list. But you want to go this way, expect to invest some time.
Please look for an email from John Turner on this email list and it has some relevent information and attachments.
You also have to copy the seed database from MySQL to Oracle. I ran a MySQL database with the data and then copied this to Oracle using a java program.
Also, you want to use atleast Oracle 10g drivers. I had some issues with even that and finally ended up using DataDirect Oracle drivers, which were available in our enterprise. I wished that I had used them from the beginning of the task.
cheers,

Guillaume,
There are a number of steps you need to take:
1. create your own database object create script.
2. create a hibernate mapping for your oracle DB (there are some differences in the Oracle and MySQL data types).
3. create a hibernate configuration file.
4. you may need to create some custom types to handle Oracle BLOBs or CLOBs depending on the Oracle version and JDBC drivers being used.
I posted some messages giving more detail earlier this year - I suggest you visit the archive and review those messages.
Regards, John Turner

Hi All,
At the moment I'm using the HTML
/ tags to redirect a page to
another page. The initial redirect page is need to do some processing which
then determines which page to redirect to. The bad news is that the page
loads in the browser then loads the final page which looks a bit ugly.
Is there a way to internally redirect on the server side to load and display
another page without using the browser redirect?
Thanks
Duke
One of my favorite RSS display programs is picky, and displays (Invalid Date) on the items' date entries. Investigation into this revealed that it insists on the correct format of the dc:date element in the item's header.
This is specified by ISO 8601, which in turn refers to the W3C standards, which indicate that the separator between the date and time fields, which for most sane people is a space, must be an upper-case 'T'.
I dutifully changed XWiki.WebRssCode and XWiki.BlogRssCode, et voilà: no more error, just nice date/time fields.
Life is good - until my sysadmin starts complaining about megabytes per minute of logfile accumulation, resulting from 20 60+-line exception stack traces per RSS request. I look at the logs and what do I see? Each one is a complaint from java.text.SimpleDateFormat.compile:
java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Illegal pattern character 'T'
I have sought in vain for how to get this 'T' into the default pattern character array. It looks like it could be one of the things I can set in the Locale, but I have so far failed to figure out where the defaults are located or what key they have.
Any clues?

As an administrator of an xwiki, I often find myself debugging permissions
problems. When this is done over a wide area (say, the person being in the
UK, and I'm on the west coast of the US), it is very problematic.
It would be really nice to see what permissions a particular user had on a
page, or to "become" the user in question and see it for myself.
Is such a function available, and if so - how can I use it?
-Adrian
Hi all,
The precise role of "programming rights" is not clear to me. I realise
it is used to prevent Groovy scripting (which can do all kinds of
mischief like System.exit() :) ), but it also blocks a number of API
functions. I can't quite see a pattern to the functions it blocks.
This is a problem for me, because I have sometimes suggested a
Velocity code snippet to a user but they could not execute it due to
lack of rights. There has always been a workaround, but as an admin, I
can't tell if I'm using functions which require the rights or not.
Also, I'm currently having a hard time with a plugin, of which the
main functionality executes fine when triggered from Velocity from a
doc saved with programming rights, but falls over in all kinds of ways
when I try to call it from a save notification implementation (in
which the context's rights depend on the user saving the doc, I
think).
Regards,
Robin.

I'm the XWiki bug man this week; got some time off from fighting fires.
Here's another:
I note that (at least) for pages with Javascript in their content,
XWikiDocument.getLinkedPages() returns entries that are not XWiki links
but subscript expressions from the Javascript code. This happens
regardless of whether there is a {pre} tag surrounding the Javascript in
the document.
I suspect it's because there's just a simple regular expression search
through the un-rendered content.

The xwikidoc table in the database has a column, xwd_fullname, which is
not, as I suspected it to be, just an alias for xwd_web + '.' +
xwd_name, but an actual column. The code, however, seems to ignore this
field, at least when invoking the view command on it.
Does this field actually have a purpose? If so, what? If it's for
searching performance, could a database constraint be added to it so
that its value is always correct? I suppose that I'll have to admit
that the reason I've run into this is that I naively changed the field
on one document, not realizing that it wasn't just a handy composite
field. I don't remember all the details, but I do remember that a
document with the old name still appeared to exist even though there was
no row in the table with that value in the xwd_fullname column.

As a member of an organization whose name has an ampersand in it, I am
pleased to say that I am discovering many of the ways that XML and HTML
can choke on it. This is because as a developer, I thoroughly enjoy
finding bugs (in other people's code).
However, I am spending more time than I want (greater than zero) using
my admin privileges to clean up after users who shouldn't have to worry
about what kind of text they enter into their documents - in particular,
they shouldn't have to know that every time they type the company name,
it has to be AT&T.
First the document headings in the RSS feeds caused readers to fail,
then the CSS validator refuses even to look at a document, and now the
Tomcat logfile is growing by dozens of megabytes per minute on a system
with ten or fewer active users. All because somebody innocently entered
"AT&T" somewhere in a document.
I have found several methods for transforming text, such as
$xwiki.getURLEncoded(String) and $doc.getEscapedContent() (which
apparently hides the entire content of a document from Velocity, but not
from Radeox). There is also the Javascript in some form documents that
makes sure that accented characters don't get into document names.
Nowhere, however, have I yet found a method that will generally escape
things in user-entered text that will break XML parsing.
Is there such a thing? I note several regular expressions in some of
the config files for Radeox, etc; there ought - somewhere - to be a
general method for doing this, n'est-ce pas?

send me a mail or call me (13940880590) to tell me when you are
coming. This conference is in Dalian (Liaoning province, China).
If you want to come to discuss about wikis, XWiki, Open Source, you are welcome.
And, i'm in China until maybe the end of August, so if you want to
talk about XWiki and meet, contact me.

When setting up access rights for a space, in the access rights
editor, there's always a line that reads "XWiki.XWikiGlobalRights".
What does this represent? Is there a global rights setting somewhere?
Also, is there any way to give all rights instead of specifying:
view, edit, comment, admin
I've also seen reference to a right called "programming". Does this
exist? Are there others? Sorry for the barage of questions. Just
trying to get my head around it all.

Thanks for you help. I was able to go in as superadmin. I went and added the
admin rights back again. However, I don't know why the XWiki.XWikiAllGroup
permission isn't working. If I logged on as a regular user, I still get "You are
not allowed to view this document or perform this action." Also, on the right
upper corner, where it should display after login "Hello
," it's now
displaying "Hello $docuser.display("first_name","view", $objuser)."
I don't know what I did wrong. This is what I did in the XWiki Access Right

Access Levels: view, edit
Users:
Allow/Deny: Allow
Under User Administration Groups, I do have XWiki.XWikiAllGroup and there are
the list of members.
Thanks a lot for the help!

Please enable 'superadmin' with somepassword in the application. This can be
defined in xwiki.cfg.
Then you can use this to restore your account and admin privilages.
eg.
xwiki.superadminpassword=toto "
.. to activate the "superadmin" user with password "toto"

Apparently this feature is "missing" in 0.9.840. I don't know what's in
the source versions now.
I got around this problem by assigning privileges for the group to a page,
and then checking for access to that page (less code).
Ludovic sent me the following script, which I believe is a more direct
answer to your question:
Currently there is no xwiki API for groups (it's missing).. But this works:
#set($ismember = false)
#set($groupdoc = $xwiki.getDocument("XWiki.MyGroup"))
#set($memberobj = $groupdoc.getObjects("XWiki.XWikiGroups"))
#foreach($mobj in $memberobj)
#set ($member = $groupdoc.display("member", "view", $mobj))
#if($member == $context.user)
#set($ismember = true)
#end
#end
#if($ismember==true)
do your stuff
#end
Don't forget to flush the cache after changing the members in a group.
It's another "bug" in 0.9.840.
Good luck!

Hello, I would like to detect orphaned pages, but not only pages without parent but also pages with a non-existent/deleted parent page.
I do something like this (in a loop on all docs) in velocity:
[WIKI]
$xwiki.getDocument($bentrydoc.getParent()).getName()
[/WIKI]
Problem is: $bentrydoc.getParent() refers to a page that was deleted, but still getName() returns the page name, and I couldn't find a .exists() member on Document object ...
How can I achieve this ?

I did that, but it still didn't work. I still get the same message as I
described below. Just so I am not misunderstanding what you're saying, you mean
to clear the cache from the browser right?
Further help would be very much appreciated! Thanks...

You might want to restart or flush the cache. In XWiki 0.9.840 there are
some cache issues with groups

Dear all,
I am still looking for a solution to this problem I have (see below). The
trouble happens in what seems to be a basic use of the XWiki. Does not
somebody else experienced the same problem? Any insights would be
welcome...The wiki is still public at http://biodiversite.xwiki.com.
I have found what seems to be another bug. When I login as guest,
password guest, the xwiki front page, welcome me as Alexandre-Benjamin,
somebody I do not know at all!!
All ideas welcome,
---------------
dear all,
I am having trouble restricting the access of a document to my XWiki
registered users only.
If I apply the edit, view rights to XWiki.XWikiAllGroup at the last document
published, I get the following error message when logout :
Error number 4001 in 4: Error while parsing velocity page Main.WebHome
Wrapped Exception: Invocation of method 'formatDate' in class
com.xpn.xwiki.api.XWiki threw exception class
java.lang.NullPointerException : null
While when I do the same for an older document, this document is
effectively hidden when I logout but the others appear in double!
Any idea?
Many thanks in advance,

Yep.
$context.xWiki.groupService.listGroupsForUser($context.user,
$context.context)
[for more detail, check the mail archive for emails from me, as I had a
similar query].

Hello,
Is there a way via velocity to check whether or not a user has
membership in a particular group? Could someone provide or point me to
examples of this.
Thanks!

All,
I'm looking for this answer and not finding it. Obviously I'm looking
in the wrong place. I need to create sql scripts to move pages in the
database. I cannot figure out how XWD_ID is being created. Does anyone
know of a script, or snippet of java code, that I can use to create
that value?
Thanks!

Hi,
I am the admin of our dept wiki and I did something stupid. I accidentally deleted myself from the Access Right list. I have limited access to a lot of pages now and I can't add myself back. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
Hi, Ludovic,
Bravo! The performance issue is THE worry I have before getting more important tasks (and groups) on XWiki.

(Apologies for the earlier message that was signed. I have repeatedly hit
Microsoft Outlook into submission, but it still decides it wants to sign
messages some times)
I got the below error when saving a document.
I got the same error (or close to it) when trying to save an attachment to
this page (which has a number of attachments, each of which has a number of
versions). I've hidden the name of the attachment (sorry - necessary
obfuscation). However, it was an excel spreadsheet where the name has
spaces in it (if it matters)
Platform is JBoss latest being accessed through a mod_jk plug-in on Apache.
Any ideas?

I got the below error when saving a document.
I got the same error (or close to it) when trying to save an attachment to
this page (which has a number of attachments, each of which has a number of
versions). I've hidden the name of the attachment (sorry - necessary
obfuscation). However, it was an excel spreadsheet where the name has
spaces in it (if it matters)
Platform is JBoss latest being accessed through a mod_jk plug-in on Apache.
Any ideas?
