Try calling:

$doc.document.setCreator("XWiki.Someone")
$doc.save()

No idea... But as you're hijacking the thread called "Pre-Flight
check for releasing XWiki 1.0 Beta 6" maybe you could give it a run
and let us know if it works fine for you? :-)
