If you want to start with something easy, I'd suggest you look at  
existing jira issues (jira.xwiki.org) and pick some easy ones.  
Documentation is something we really lack so anything you can do to  
help us document stuff on xwiki.org is a boon. There are even  
documentation issues in jira that you could possibly help us with:

XWIKI-1009 and generally speaking we really need to improve our  
Syntax guide (both on xwiki.org and in the Panel when editing a page  
in wiki mode)

It contains lots of useful information for contributors.
