That's a very good question, I'm glad you asked it :-D
Plans for today are only about migrating. When we switch to utf8_bin collation, it can bring some unexpected behaviors (since we never used it on that server, I'm talking about applications that won't return the same results for example), so we need to be careful.
I'll keep that in mind and plan a migration for that too.
