| Summary: |
Naming strategy not applied when renaming a page with Validation enabled |
| Description: |
It reproduces with the standard "Preformatted names" strategy:
A. I did the following steps to reproduce the issue with the "Preformatted names", with an Advanced user: 1. Selected the Preformatted names without special characters as a Name strategy , Transform names automatically Enabled, Validate names before saving Enabled 2. I created a page with the name Test*&6A and the saved name was Test-6A. It respected the chosen name strategy. 3. I renamed the page by expanding the New location and replacing the Name field from Test-6A into Test-6A&* Expected result: a name respecting the name strategy Actual result: Test-6A%26*, thus the name strategy was not kept.
But also with the "Randomly generated unique names" strategy (I [created a ticket|https://jira.xwiki.org/browse/RPN-4] on the extension side for it). Prerequisite to test with the "Randomly generated unique names" strategy: install https://extensions.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Extension/Random%20Page%20Naming%20Strategy/
B. And the "Randomly generated unique names" name strategies rename test 1. Selected the "Randomly generated unique names" without special characters as a Name strategy, Transform names automatically Enabled, Validate names before saving Enabled 2. I created a page with the name "NewPage" and the URL name was ea49f178-8a5a-11f1-be76-f0b61e7d152c. It respected the chosen name strategy. 3. I renamed the page by expanding the New location and replacing the Name field from ea49f178-8a5a-11f1-be76-f0b61e7d152c with TestRenameRandomStrategy
Expected result: a random, unique alphanumerical URL Actual result: the name strategy was not kept, TestRenameRandomStrategy is shown |
