Summary: Stop shipping the legacy blog category pages in the Blog space
Issue Type: cid:jira-generated-image-avatar-094aaded-3eaf-4c83-a505-09f8719d9e96 Improvement
Affects Versions: 9.15.14
Assignee: Unassigned
Created: 14/Oct/26 13:10
Priority: cid:jira-generated-image-static-major-336658df-9744-4e19-9dee-83b2a28875d4 Major
Reporter: Vincent Massol
Description:

Since 9.15, the categories of the default blog live in Blog.Categories (Blog.Categories.News, Blog.Categories.Other, Blog.Categories.Personal). However the extension still ships the legacy pages Blog.News, Blog.Other, Blog.Personal and Blog.Categories in the Blog space. As a consequence:

  • they show up as extra categories in the Blog space;
  • they are counted by the category migration banner (Blog.Code.MigrationUIX);
  • they were the source of BLOG-275.

They can't simply be removed yet: creating a new blog (Blog.Management, around lines 113-117 of Management.xml) copies Blog.<categoryName> to create the new blog's default categories. That copy must first be changed to use the Blog.Categories.* pages.

Upgrade impact to handle: removing pages from the XAR deletes them on upgrade when the user didn't modify them. We need to check that nothing (blog posts, links, templates) still points to them once the category migration has run.
