Seems this header is optional in 15x, but mandatory in 16.x and 17.x.

OK, it's probably caused by XWIKI-12674 (and/or XWIKI-12955).

[~rao] you did not notice any warning or error in the log when it does not work ? Also does it work for you with 15.10.16, I'm wondering if it could be some side effect of XWIKI-21071 (but it would still be interesting to understand what exactly happens when no mime type is provided) .
