Note that using the following in the wiki editor works fine:

> quotes format example
> next string
> * letter
> * letter

The issue is when saving in the WYSIWYG editor. Thus the problem is a bug/limitation in the renderer to markdown/1.2 syntax.

So, right now, the workarounds are:

• use the wiki editor
• or use the HTML macro, example:

  <blockquote>
    <p>quotes formataa example
  next string</p>
    <ul>
      <li>letter</li>
      <li>letter</li>
    </ul>
  </blockquote>
  {{/html}}
