In the meantime, as a workaround, content that should be in landscape mode can probably be 90° rotated using CSS in a media print declaration.
Raphaël Jakse is paged.js properly splitting the content into print pages with this? i.e. split horizontally vs. vertically. I have some doubts, but I haven't tested.
