Summary: Search and Notifications bell buttons are not narrated on mouse hover
Issue Type: cid:jira-generated-image-avatar-de96a78c-f0c8-41d8-85b3-749aeb3a7de5 Bug
Affects Versions: 16.4.8
Assignee: Unassigned
Attachments: Search_and_Notifications_collapsed_not_narrated-1.png, Toggle_Notifications_Center_Firefox.png
Components: Skin - UI
Created: 12/Nov/25 16:17
Environment: Windows 11 Pro, Edge 142, Chrome 142, Firefox 145, using an instance of XWiki 17.4.7 on Oracle 19c, Tomcat 11.0.13
Priority: cid:jira-generated-image-static-major-b044f8e9-ae9e-40e9-ac2c-e7e19d9a1b72 Major
Reporter: Ilie Andriuta
Description:

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open a Narrator app (I used NVDA)
  2. Mouse hover over the collapsed "Search" and "Notifications" bell icons near the Drawer
  3. Observe the narration

Expected results

The name and the state of the buttons are narrated, like: "Search (collapsed)" and respectively "Notifications (collapsed)".

Actual results

On Chrome 142 and Edge 142, the name and state of the buttons are not narrated at all.

On Firefox 145, only the Notifications button is narrated as "Toggle notifications center", but the state of the button is not mentioned, which is "collapsed".

Note that automatic tests didn't see anything wrong here.
