do you mean that instead of Projects/proj1 Projects.proj1 is used ( when creating proj1 ) ?
I noticed this issue when using Task Manager ( 2.1 and 2.5 ).
It looks like the Task Manager doesn't see the Projects from project manager and if created from admin for Task Manager, Project Manager doesn't see them. A not too complicated fix seems to map that properly.

I am new to all this, but if I can find a way to get a good dev setup I can take a shot at it if nobody else can ( may take time though ).
When the Project Admin task type is set to Xwiki Task I just see that text, which seems like a bug too ?
