If I understand correctly what causes this issue, it's the existence of multiple cores to initialize on startup of Solr.
Also, if I understand correctly, the first version of XWiki which has more than one solr core (the search one) is 12.6, which introduced the core for events storage ( https://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/ReleaseNotes/Data/XWiki/12.6/#HNeweventstoreandprefilteringbydefault ). Doesn't this mean the affects version of this issue is actually 12.6 and it impacts all instances with permanent directory created on (or updated to) any version between 12.6 and 12.10.6 from cycle 12 and < 13.2 from cycle 13 ?

Can you confirm this, [~tmortagne], so that we can update the documentation at https://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Documentation/AdminGuide/Upgrade#HXWikiwon27tstartwithoutanyerrorinthelogandstaystuckonSolrinitialization with a little more specific information?
