HI Charpentier Lucas Thanks for your reply! This ticket describes the experience for the horizontal navigation menu we created. Using keyboard focus (tabbing), we can open the drop-down submenu from the respective caret by selecting Enter and using tab / shift + tab to move up and down the list. The issue comes when we want to close the submenu. Right now, it's possible to keep multiple drop-down submenus open (see screenshot showing two menus open at the same time). The only way to close the submenu from keyboard focus seems to be going backwards back up the list and clicking Enter again. Depending on the submenu, this would require extra steps to exit the menu. Moreover, this may not be the behaviour the user is expecting. Reviewing the WAI guidance for submenus (option 2: Use button as toggle I believe the expectation should be that the menu closes when tabbing to the next parent menu item. Please let me know if I can provide further clarification or if I'm missing some component of how the keyboard controls work in XWiki. Thanks! |
