Rendering a page with thousands of macros is slow

Steps to reproduce:

1. Create a page with a lot of text and also 5k macros (e.g., ID macros)
2. View the page

Expected result:

Viewing the page is fast.

Actual result:

Viewing the page takes several seconds.
