[xwiki-devs] [Reminder] BFD#26
Hi everyone, Today is BFD26. Our goal is still to have more bugs closed than created for the past 1200 days! http://jira.xwiki.org/secure/Dashboard.jspa?selectPageId=10352 As of now we're only 7 bugs behind! Here's the BFD#26 dashboard to follow the progress during the day: http://jira.xwiki.org/secure/Dashboard.jspa?selectPageId=11600 Thanks Marius
Results http://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Blog/Bug+Fixing+Day+26 We closed 15 bugs and thus achieved the 1200 days goal! We need to set a new goal now. Thanks, Marius On Thu, Jun 20, 2013 at 10:06 AM, Marius Dumitru Florea <[email protected]> wrote:

Well done everyone! That was a very nice BFD, a pity I couldn't participate :)
We closed 15 bugs and thus achieved the 1200 days goal! We need to set a new goal now.
I think we have 2 options: * Continue reducing bug fixes. Our overall total is now 382 so there's still some work to do ;) * Change strategy and stop doing BFD and instead do ICD (Issue Cleanup Day) as suggested by Cati Personally I prefer that we continue the BFD till the end of the 5.x cycle and then for 6.x change that to an ICD for example. IMO we really need to make a huge dent on the bugs count and this is one important goal of 5.x Now we've reached 1200 days in the past, here are some stats to go further: * 1277 days (i.e. 3.5 years): Issues: 2934 created and 2903 resolved => 31 bugs * 1460 days (i.e. 4 years): Issues: 3422 created and 3242 resolved => 180 bugs * 1300 days: Issues: 2990 created and 2943 resolved => 47 bugs * 1400 days: Issues: 3315 created and 3172 resolved => 143 bugs Personally I'm fine with 1300 days to start with (that should last us about 3-4 BFDs). I prefer small achievable objectives rather than larger one which may be a bit daunting. WDYT? Thanks -Vincent
Thanks, Marius

+1 to stay on BFD, we cleaned lots of duplicates/won'tfix/cannot reproduce and easy bugfixes but there is quite a few scarier bugs that has been left behind and we'll need to start concentrate on them I'm fine with 1300 days.
Thanks -Vincent
