It may be urgent for you but I fail to see how it can be urgent for the xwiki community of developers. BTW you shouldn't post to the developers list since your question is a user question. What would you think if I told you: "Anuj, please implement a tutorial about using XWiki. It's urgent and we need it by tomorrow. Please, it's urgent"? In the future please be more considerate and don't spam the list with "urgent" emails. If you need special support you might want to consider hiring someone knowledgable in XWiki. XPertNet (the company who has created XWiki) is offering such "urgent" support. You can contact it through its web site at http://www.xwiki.com Thanks -Vincent
Ok Vincent, I accept my fault, but can you please help me. Thanks, Anuj Vincent Massol <[email protected]> wrote: On Sep 27, 2007, at 6:51 PM, anuj sharma wrote:

I said:
I've just added this: http://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/AdminGuide/ Configuration#HSettingthedefaulteditortouse28WikiorWYSIWYG29
However to be honest I don't know if this works or not. I think the fact that users are in simple mode by default probably overrides this.
I think this default editor should be set to WYSIWYG by default and new users should get the default editor as their editor, unless they explicitely change it in their profiles.
Does anyone know how it works?
Now to disable the WYSIWYG editor completely you'll need to change template files, which isn't that easy.
I think it's better to fix whatever issue you have with the WYSIWYG editor.
As you see I had also even taken the time to add documentation for you... And also:
Nope, never heard about this. You definitely need to upgrade to 1.1 final. Lots of WYSIWYG bugs were fixed after 1.1M4.

Hi, Go to the administration page ( /xwiki/bin/admin/XWiki/XWikiPreferences ), open the Editing area, and choose Text on the "Default Editor to use" option. If there are still WYSIWYG editors showing, you can just edit /skins/albatross/textarea_wysiwyg.vm and remove the scripts. If there are still WYSIWYG editors showing, you can just remove the tiny_mce and wiki_editor directories, and there's no way the editor will display.
