[xwiki-devs] [VOTE] Make our jabber chat official
Hi devs, Our jabber chat experience has now been going on for several months. I think it's working quite well and I'd like to propose that we make it official. I'd also like to keep the IRC bridge since it's also working quite well. Once we agree about making the jabber chat official I'll document it on http://dev.xwiki.org/ Here's my +1 Thanks -Vincent

I'm +1 too but only provided we get an archive mechanism working again, either through a bot as we did for http://dev.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/IRC/ or by changing the settings of our Jabber server. Not being able to see what happened while one was away is sometimes annoying (even though it forces us to use the list for important decisions, which is a good thing). Guillaume
Thanks -Vincent

The one for which the last archive dates back to August? Then it would be cool if we fixed it :-) Guillaume

Of course... I've been working on it for some time but I haven't finished yet (though I'm very close). It's just that I do this as a background task. I'll try to finish it this week. Thanks -Vincent

+1 It would be nice to figure out what's the cause of the various errors we get from time to time, like not being able to send messages, or getting kicked for replying with error messages. -- Sergiu Dumitriu http://purl.org/net/sergiu/

For some reason I've never had that problem so far, maybe because I'm the chat "admin" or maybe it's a client problem. Thanks -Vincent

Done here: http://dev.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Community/IRC When the bot is back I'll document it there too. Thanks -Vincent
