[xwiki-devs] [QA] Feedback for 5.0 M1
Hello, XWiki 5.0 M1 is soon going to be released, scheduled for Monday. I see in the Release Notes Page only 2 things listed *Release Application *Office Import using the Office Macro Besides, I also know that Marius worked on DW. Besides these 3 things, I want to ask the developers if they want something else tested, for example features they worked on and didn't had the time to test properly. In order to improve the communication between the people doing QA in the community and the developers, I will send these e-mails regularly from now. Waiting our feedback. Regards, Sorin B.

I don't think you need to test the Release application, but up to you.
else tested, for example features they worked on and didn't had the time to test properly.
I'd say SOLR. We need to know if it's as good as the old search or not yet to know when we can promote it as the default search. @Edy: have you committed the auto indexing? We really need that one. Thomas has also worked on scalable import/export but I don't know his status, he's worked on a branch so far.

ok cool. Thanks -Vincent

No, I`m just starting to work on it. Thanks, Eduard

Not even a branch actually, it's still in contrib. Right now I mostly worked on making DW more generic and support per wiki DW in a local branch but M1 is going to be too short for both (especially if it's today and I'm release manager :)).

Hi devs, Last week we validated 6 Jira tickets<http://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/TestReports/ManualTestReportXWiki50M1#HJiraTicketsMarkedasFixedintheReleaseNotes>marked as fixed for XE 5.0 M1 and we also tested the Solr search engine on IE8, IE9 and Firefox 19. I reported two issues: XWIKI-8887<http://jira.xwiki.org/browse/XWIKI-8887>and XWIKI-8888 <http://jira.xwiki.org/browse/XWIKI-8888>, but the last one has already been fixed by Eduard. On a related topic, can we document the Solr search engine on the Platform wiki <http://platform.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Main/WebHome> ? cool too, best is to talk to Eduard since he was supposed to do it and I'm sure he'll love some help. We talked together about where to put the doc already so please talk to him since you're next to each other ;) Thanks -Vincent
Thanks, Manuel
