Great, we just need some volunteers to bootstrap the thing and we're rolling. You could be the first one to go! :) The only thing that seems important to me is that this should be a discussion place but no decision should be taken on the hangout. Anything important for the project should go on the mailing list following the usual Proposal/Vote process since this is the only process that is fair, i.e. it gives enough time to everyone to answer. Let's see what others think and let's sit on it for a week. Then if we get enough interest, we could decide on a timetable (regular times is the best IMO, like every 1st Tuesday of the month at a given time). Some "open mic" sessions are great too. The IRC/mailing lists are a great place to discuss and have your questions answered, but the video/demo/talk/pair-programming/hangout idea could be interesting for certain use cases.

What I would like to know if other members of the community (beside the committers) would be interested in such things.
