[xwiki-devs] [Proposal] Don't work on the syntax 1.0 to 2.0 converter anymore
Hi devs, I'd like to agree that we're not going to spend more time working on the Syntax 1.0 to 2.0 converter now that 1.0 syntax is really old and deprecated. Most XWiki instances have now switched to the new syntax and the converter is already helpful when converting pages. It's a lot of work to improve it further and it's never going to be perfect anyway. It's the rule of the 20/80... I'd like to close the following issues as won't fix as a consequence, following our rules of closing issues that we don't plan/want to work on: http://bit.ly/ZtFrtK Of course if any contributor or any devs suddenly wants one day to work on improving the converter, he can do so at any time… WDYT? Thanks -Vincent
Hi, that's ok on my side. Pretty much all instances I'm aware of have switched to the new syntax now. I have not seen the converter be used on any project in the past couple years. Thanks, Guillaume On Thu, Mar 7, 2013 at 4:19 PM, Vincent Massol <[email protected]> wrote:

Done, I've closed these 4 issues as won't fix with the following message: "We've decided not to spend efforts making the converter work better, see http://markmail.org/thread/d6uvaqjcxv7cdkp3 for details. Now if a contributor supplies a pull request, we'll gladly apply it!" A pity I didn't do this on a BFD, that would have counted 4 issues for me ;) Thanks -Vincent
Of course if any contributor or any devs suddenly wants one day to work on improving the converter, he can do so at any time…
