[xwiki-devs] [Idea] Create a www.ihatexwiki.org/net web site
Similar to http://www.ihateeclipse.com/ We could easily create that using XWiki itself. The idea would be to gather feedback from users about the most irritating things to fix in XWiki. A good idea for a hackathon or a 20% time project IMO... Just an idea... -Vincent

IMO Without the negative connotation it has little value since there’s already jira.xwiki.org for people to report things… In short the differences with jira.xwiki.org are: * Speed: A singe line to fill to add what you don’t like. No need to register, no need to find the jira project to use, find the component to use, find the version to use, etc. You have to be really wanting to collaborate to use jira and people who are fed up with XWiki will certainly not want to spend that time. * Anonymous: No need to register. Anyway, I was half serious when sending this idea. I just thought it was fun that some people took the time to do this for eclipse. Usually these kind of sites are not made by the project itself but I thought the fact that we could create it (and we would mention we created it if we ever do it) would mitigate the negativity. Hi, Nice idea. I guess we would also need a way to mark an issue/topic/complaint as solved starting with a particular XWiki version. It would also be nice to have a list of possibly related jira issues or the actually existing jira for the particular complaint. Both things should be done automatically (based on the complaint's content) or manually (set by us) for the top complaints at least. Generally, I like the idea, but we also need to be prepared for some trash talk plus the usual SPAM (maybe Google's "No CAPTCHA reCAPTCHA" would help a lot there). Hi, I am not against, but I am not fully convinced either. Speed, anonymity and simplicity also create comments that are either not understandable, too general, or absolutely not constructive to make any progress. IMO, from the eclipse site, half of the top complains fall in these cases actually, and I have seen only 2 or 3 that are really helpful for a progress. Even worse, I am not a eclipse user and I would be tempted to vote for some of these "bad" comments that does not really help. So, does it really help the eclipse project to confirm that I was right choosing an alternative ? Not so sure... but who knows what will be raised about XWiki ?
