[xwiki-devs] XWiki Day: what do you want?
Hi, What XWiki Day would you like to have today? See ideas at http://dev.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Community/XWikiDays#HIdeasofXWikiDays Thanks -Vincent
Hi devs, Since I didn’t get much answers I’m going to propose a Deprecation Fixing Day today (#3). With the following rules: Here are the current numbers: * platform: 1954 (http://sonar.xwiki.org/drilldown/issues/1963?&rule=squid%3ACallToDeprecatedM...) * commons: 22 (http://sonar.xwiki.org/drilldown/issues/1?&rule=squid%3ACallToDeprecatedMeth...) * rendering: 3 (http://sonar.xwiki.org/drilldown/issues/915?&rule=squid%3ACallToDeprecatedMe...) TOTAL: 1979 (http://sonar.xwiki.org/drilldown/issues/6131?&rule=squid%3ACallToDeprecatedM...) The rules are: * Goal #1: reduce to the maximum the number of deprecated calls. * Goal #2: move the maximum of deprecated apis into legacy modules. * When you fix deprecation or move some API to legacy, edit this blog post to add your score: http://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Blog/Deprecation+Fixing+Day+3 Have a good XWiki Day! :) -Vincent On 10 Jul 2014 at 08:39:56, [email protected] ([email protected](mailto:[email protected])) wrote:

Cool then, note that adding @Deprecation annotations is also part of this day (we can report them in the blog post too). For ex, now that we have the new mail sender api we probably need to add @Deprecated annotations to the old mailsender plugin. I can do that, although I’m going to increase the total deprecation numbers ;) Thanks -Vincent On 10 Jul 2014 at 09:57:13, Thomas Mortagne ([email protected]) wrote: Ok I answered the other mail before seeing this one :) +1 then On Thu, Jul 10, 2014 at 9:50 AM, [email protected] <[email protected]> wrote:

Hi, Maybe it would be a better idea to vote/decide on the topic of the XWiki days before they actually happen (either at the end of the previous day, or in the roadmap, or at start of the week, don`t know), so that people can plan for them, or at least not have to switch context so abruptly. IMO, deciding in the same day is a bit counter-productive. Also, it would be nice so we can have them in the calendar (either XWiki`s or our own). Yes. How about you become the owner for organizing the XWiki Days for now? I’ve been doing this since the beginning (with some help here and there when I was away) and I wouldn’t mind to roll a bit. Thanks -Vincent

Hi devs, Since we`re fine on the bug side and on the improvements side we`re not that bad at all, I would suggest focusing today on fixing the current build issues instead of doing another XWikiDay so that we can get back in business.
