[xwiki-devs] 4.2 Milestone 3 is planned for today
Hi devs, Do you have unfinished work that needs to be included in this release? I know JV has to move the wiki components module from contrib to platform. Anything else? Also, are there any blocking issues? Otherwise, I'd like to start the maven release in the afternoon. I'll take care of the failing tests in the mean time. Thanks, Marius

Great, nothing on my side but I agree: if JV commits then we need to postpone by a few days to let the time to test his work which is a pity since we're already late by 3 weeks on 4.2 (with the introduction of M3). @jv: it's a pity you didn't commit earlier, you need to plan integration time next time, ie never commit on the last days of a release but leave 2-3 days at minimum. I'm also worried about Thomas' work on installing XE with the EM. @Thomas: what's the status on this? When do you plan to commit it? Thanks -Vincent

I did not had any time to work on that as well as Marius so it's not going to end up in M3.
Thanks -Vincent

Hi, I took some time to work on xwiki-platform-component-wiki and in the end I didn't spend enough time working on UI extensions. xwiki-platform-uiextension is still a work in progress, it's missing important features (extension points configuration, extensions ordering, etc). I'd like to commit it but think it shouldn't be bundled with XE 4.2.x. I'd like to continue working on functional tests and UI extensions during the RC phase but start bundling the modules starting with 4.3M1. Vincent WDYT ? * What's committed must work * it's ok if it's missing features (like ordering) but best if they have been taken into account in the design so that we don't break too many APIs in the future versions * I don't understand why not "bundle it" * Ok to finish polishing it in RC. Actually I'm waiting for a proposal from Thomas/Marius who also need some time to finish EM stuff so maybe we'll have a short M4, who knows. Thanks -Vincent
