[xwiki-devs] Feeds page in default XE + no UI for getting the global RSS feed
Hi, Problem 1 ======== We need to decide what we do with http://localhost:8080/xwiki/bin/view/Main/RssFeeds I thought it was useful but it's not linked anymore from anywhere. Problem 2 ======== On the Blog home there's no way to easily get the Blog RSS feed. The category panel only allows to get feeds for a given category. Any ideas? Thanks -Vincent

I don't see the relationship with the watchlist. Also remember that the watchlist is supposed to be a separate application and thus it's possible to have the blog app installed without the watchlist app. I really think the Blog RSS feed should be in the Blog WebHome. Thanks -Vincent

Hi, Problem 1: I'm +1 to remove this page, the less pages we provide the better IMO. Problem2: Now that browsers do a great job at pointing to webistes RSS feeds (even IE) I'm not sure that having links to them in our UI is crucial. Also, RSS feeds are used by a minority of power users [1][2], I think those power users are now used to look at the location bar for the RSS icon listing the available feeds. I'm ok with displaying a link to the blog RSS in the blog home (note that I've put the wiki one at the bottom of the dashboard), I'm just saying that I'm not 100% sure that we need it. WDYT ? I'm +1 too but *only* provided we have easy ways to access the information. We need to check if it's the case for all possible RSS feeds.

Yes but... I personally never use this feature of browsers (maybe I'm too old) so I'm pretty sure others don't too. I'm always looking for an orange RSS icon on pages and I don't have the reflex to look for the browser's auto-discovery.
