That said, I think I read somewhere that Sun had dropped support for 1.4 (is that true or I am dreaming it?). If this is true it might be good to continue supporting 1.5. I guess we need to check if there are any users out there who absolutely require 
1.4 in production. It will be hard to convince that many sysadmins to change the distro or to install &quot;untrusted&quot; packages. So we must still support Java 
1.4, at least for a while, until Java really gets Open Source and gets accepted by the GPL-addicted community.<br></div><br></div><br>
