modifying the "start_server.sh" that way:

    $JETTY_HOME/lib/javax.servlet.jar:\
    $JETTY_HOME/ext/jasper-runtime.jar:\
    $JETTY_HOME/ext/jasper-compiler.jar:\
    $JETTY_HOME/ext/xercesImpl.jar:\
    $JETTY_HOME/ext/xml-apis.jar:\
    $JETTY_HOME/ext/xmlParserAPIs.jar

$JAVA_HOME/java $JAVA_OPTS -cp $CLASSPATH -Dfile.encoding=iso-8859-1
-Djetty.port=$JETTY_PORT -Djetty.home=$JETTY_HOME -jar $JETTY_HOME/start.jar

My java version:
java version "1.4.1_05"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.1_05-b01)

I encounter the same problem with this standalone installation on my Windows
PC. I would like to know what is my mistake.
