I noticed that someone said that there would be a fix for this in a future release, but is there a workaround for this? I am getting these same exceptions on two different machines with different MySQL/Tomcat versions. Exceptions:

an assertion failure occured (this may indicate a bug in Hibernate, but is more >likely due to unsafe use of the session)

org.hibernate.AssertionFailure: possible nonthreadsafe access to session
