[xwiki-users] Annotations extension didn't work
Hello! Annotations extension didn't work. It is not translation even though I put AnnotationCode.Translations in XWiki.Preferences. It accuses annotation.action.create.form.loaderrorUnauthorized when trying to put annotations. Can anyone help me? -- Atenciosamente, Erica Usui.

It shouldn't need it. What xwiki are you running? Which version? Do you have local modifications or is a fresh instance? Which distribution? (.zip, .exe, etc? )

This basically means that you're logged in with a user that doesn't have comment right on the page you are trying to annotate. The rule is whenever you can comment, you can annotate. Happy annotating, Anca

Hi Anca! I'm actually logged as superadmin user. And, as it show error: annotation.action.create.form. loaderrorUnauthorized, translations are not working, right? 2011/2/22 Anca Luca <[email protected]>

The annotations were introduced in XWiki 2.3, so I guess you installed the annotations application described at http://extensions.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Extension/Annotations+Application . Which version did you take? Also, the documentation on the annotations application page is kindof incomplete, because in order to have annotations working you also need to have the annotations backend (some .jars) -- actually the extension documentation mentions that it is about **Annotations UI**. Did you install those? if so, which version did you take? Since the annotations were implemented in 2.3, the jars (which are here http://maven.xwiki.org/releases/org/xwiki/platform/ -- all the modules starting with "xwiki-annotations-") might not work on 2.2. Normally they _should_ work but for that I advise you to try the 2.3 version of the annotations jars (and the corresponding 1.3 version of the annotations application), and you might also need to install this: http://maven.xwiki.org/releases/org/xwiki/contrib/xwiki-core-model-backport/ if it doesn't work. Good luck, Anca
