Christian, this bug is not something common. It's something strange happening with your wiki, and it seems to work fine for everybody else. I'm sure that this issue can be solved. First, what version of XWiki is that? Second, can you try using Firefox with the Firebug extension installed, open Firebug on the Net panel, enable it, and then open the users administration page. There should be a request for something like http://localhost:8080/xwiki/bin/admin/XWiki/XWikiPreferences?xpage=getusers&...
