[xwiki-users] WYSIWYG Editor for TextArea Class Property
Hello All, I've configured a class and added a text area property in the same manner described in the FAQs tutorial, but I'm not able to get the WYSIWYG editor when creating a instance of the class. I've tried configuring the property to use the default editor as well as the WYSIWYG editor, but neither seem to get it. Is there some trick to get this to work, or is there something that I'm missing? Thanks in advance. Best regards, Paul S.

Please, could you post here the link to the tutorial you have followed? I would like to reproduce what you are doing. Thanks! Cheers, Ricardo -- Ricardo RodrÃguez Your EPEC Network ICT Team
Hello Ricardo, Thank you for your response. The tutorial that I followed is at http://platform.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/DevGuide/FAQTutorial. I didn't follow the process explicitly, but did follow the same procedure described for creating my class properties. Unfortunately, the tutorial shows the WYSIWYG editor, and I only get a plain HTML textarea. Thanks again, Paul S. [Ricardo Rodriguez] Your EPEC Network ICT Team wrote:

I've had no time yet to follow the tutorial but what is the default editor you have set for your wiki? Go to Administration > Preferences > Editing > Default editor to use. Could the "plain HTML textarea" be just the XWiki editor where you see XWiki tagging? HTH, Ricardo -- Ricardo RodrÃguez Your EPEC Network ICT Team
There's an additional thing to check : in your own user profile, you can decide which editor you want to use and this setting overwrites any other one you might have made. Have you checked the edition of the class with a "dummy" account as well ? Guillaume

and you should rather follow the TODO tutorial since it has a lot more details and information... I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for in that tutorial. thanks -vincent
Hello All, Thank you for all the suggestions. I'm unfortunately still not seeing the WYSIWYG editor for editing class properties. I've confirmed the default editor set for XWiki is the WYSIWYG editor. I created a new user and created one of my classes, but I didn't get the WYSIWYG editor. However, if I create/edit a normal page, I get the WYSIWYG editor by default. I ran through the tutorial again, but unfortunately get the same behaviour (seemingly no WYSIWYG editor for *any* classes, but I do get it by default for normal wiki pages). I'm running 1.3.0 (1.3.8295) if that matters. Thanks again for the suggestions! Any insight would be greatly appreciated! Best regards, Paul S. Vincent Massol wrote:
