I' have not checked if there is any change in the way available syntaxes are set, I don't think so. I've tried to add Mediawiki/1.0 syntax to a XE 2.7-SNAPSHOT.33319 and it works without a glitch. Just edit xwiki.cfg and add this syntax to xwiki.rendering.syntaxes list of values.

There are some known issues, see: http://code.google.com/p/wikimodel/issues/list Feel to report new issues you find there or in the XWiki JIRA project at http://jira.xwiki.org. Note that compared to the XWiki Syntax there are quite a lot of things you cannot do with the mediawiki syntax. That's why we recommend using the XWiki Syntax 2.0 as much as possible.
