I have created several wiki pages logged in as the Admin - It appears that the pages created as admin are not editible by normal users. Is there a way to change these pages so that they are editible by a specific group or user? I have trired to correct this by creating Page aAccess Rights to the specific page with edit rights, but yet it still does not allow them to edit these pages. Am I missing something or what? Eric W. I have set up edit rights for WikiAllGroup in both the Space and wiki access right sections. Looking at the rights sections, all pages should be editible by all registered users. I have several pages within the wiki that are not editible by anyone but the Admin. Now appears that I have some pages that I can not even edit them as Admin..

Thanks for the assistance, I was able to add the superuser account and add these entries on all the pages.. huge pain. I am still puzzled by one thing - maybe I don't understand... I left one page with only the AdminGroup (admin, edit - allow) permission, and was still not able to edit the page. Once I added the XWikiAllGroup (edit - allow) I was able to edit the page? I take it that the XWikiAllGroup is needed on all pages for even the Admin to be able to edit the page? or do I have something set up wrong. What brought all this on, I was trying to set up an section that can only be viewed by a specific group.

Sorry about that; it's XWiki.XWikiAdminGroup. And of course, you have just highlighted why I stumbled over it, and likely why you did also. A good case for building in stronger typing - the number of times I have been burned because I misspelled (or, as above, misremembered) the name of a group or a user in a rights object, not to mention invalid document names elsewhere, is embarassing. In the case of rights objects, of course, in a permission system like XWiki has, it leads to the humorous situations for which the superadmin backdoor is often needed, and for which it was probably created... I intend modifying our XWiki.XWikiGroups and XWiki.XWikiRights form sheets to validate the entries against existing users and groups. A simple way to do this might be to change the type of the affected object properties to dblist. The only drawback to this would be that new users or groups would have to be created before they could be added to rights or group membership objects, but I can't imagine a situation where this would be more than an insignificant annoyance, and it's good practice anyway to require referential integrity. Any admins tried this and found it wanting, or any of the developers have a warning on why this might be a bad idea? brain[sic]
