[xwiki-users] Accidentally Deleted Guest Login Rights
Hey everyone, Did something really stupid today and hope someone has some ideas. Spent the whole week setting up and transferring to xWiki and was making some last minute tweaks to the global rights, when I apparently accidentally left the guest rights for login unchecked, now I can't login. Does anyone have any advice to fix my stupid mistake? Am i completely screwed? I enabled the superadmin account, but with no rights to the login page I can't login. I do have view and edit rights as a guest, but that's it. Thanks for any help!! Sincerely,Craig Barnett
Hi Craig, Could you explain what you mean by "left the guest rights for login unchecked”? There’s no login right in the UI AFAIK… And login is implemented in a template (login.vm) and thus you shouldn’t be able to protect it normally. You're right there's definitely not one in the UI, but there was one in the Xwikiglobalrights object attached to the xwiki preferences page:(http://localhost:8080/xwiki/bin/edit/XWiki/XWikiPreferences?editor=object) Clearly not where I should have been snooping around apparently. If i try to go to the login page (The same link you sent below) I get: Error You are not allowed to view this document or perform this action. (Also, I think I sent the reply straight to you last time, sorry about that still a little new to this whole nabble thing.) Thanks for the time! Oh my gosh that worked, that you so much! I had a bit of a feeling there was a querystring for logging in but couldn't find much online. That might be nice info to have online maybe.
