Author: Vincent Massol <[email protected]> Date: 2026-07-22 (Wed, 22 Jul 2026) Changed paths: M README.md M contrib/solr/Dockerfile M contrib/solr/solr-init.sh Log Message: ----------- XDOCKER-183: Use the XWiki Solr core Debian packages instead of the configuration ZIPs Following Thomas' review, the standalone Solr helper now installs the pre-built XWiki Solr core Debian packages (one per core) rather than downloading the configuration ZIPs and creating the cores by hand. The packages unpack straight to /var/solr/data/xwiki_<core>_9 with their core.properties, conf/ and lib/, which removes the need for unzip, the Solr-major detection and the manual core-creation logic. The Dockerfile downloads the four core packages at build time (selected by an XWIKI_VERSION build arg) and bakes solr-init.sh into /docker-entrypoint-initdb.d, so running the image no longer needs an init directory mount. solr-init.sh extracts the packages into the (possibly mounted) Solr home on startup, skipping cores that already exist. The analysis-extras module stays enabled since the core packages cannot bundle it.
