It also checks the two parts of the fix separately, which the functional test cannot do: without the guard the pane requested first is displayed, and displaying it drops the "empty" marker as a side effect, hiding the fact that the marker isn't dropped otherwise. * Put the test in the existing test-only Node package of xwiki-platform-web-war (src/test/node), next to the path of the code it tests, and evaluate the real xwiki.js in a jsdom window, after the real Prototype.js, which xwiki.js still needs. * Prototype.js isn't published on npm, so the Maven build extracts it from the WebJar that this module already depends on in test scope.
