The archives are large and come from servers that occasionally reset the connection or slow to a crawl, which aborted the whole build and required a manual re-run. --retry-all-errors is needed on top of --retry because the failures seen in practice are mid-transfer ones, which --retry alone does not consider retryable. The options are set once in a variable so all five downloads share them.
