JDK1.6 and why xwiki needs XWikiJDBCConnection?

Hello. I would like the xwiki 1.0 release be able to compile/run on Java 1.6. Many users already use java 1.6. I see only one problem: XWikiJDBCConnection class. http://jira.xwiki.org/jira/browse/XWIKI-974 As I see, info from this class is not used in xwiki core. Main question: Why xwiki needs XWikiJDBCConnection? If it is not needed, we can easily remove it by patch http://jira.xwiki.org/jira/secure/attachment/10939/noXWikiJDBCConnection.pat... If it is needed, I can rewrite XWikiJDBCConnection using java reflections. -- Artem Melentyev, UralSU, CS401
