As you can see, the pages that see to matter most to users are the pages
about how to download, install and use XWiki Enterprise. This seems to
indicate that putting a strong focus on XWiki Enterprise makes more sense
than going for a community approach that would "hide" XWiki Enterprise
behind a link.

I think the user flow is more like:
- Go to XWiki.org
- Download the product and use it
- If happy about the product -> come back later and see what more they
can do
Thus the community part is the one that comes 2nd and shouldn't be the most
prominent on the homepage.

We had already commented on the previous proposals and now this is a new
proposals
which is quite different. Does it mean we need to restart the
discussions?
Can we have a *single* location where we can see
all proposals so that we
can make our mind. Right now I keep seeing new proposals
coming from
different places and I'm not sure anymore what we are discussing about.
It might also be good to gather the points we
agreed on on that page so
that we don't restart all over again every time.
Some comments on this new proposal:
* I don't like too much having panels on both sides. I'd prefer panels on
a single side.
* I don't like the horizontal tab UI
* I don't understand the reason for the arrows on the left and right. It
looks
as if I can click on them and the main content will scroll, is that
it?
* I don't like that the description of the
project is in a panel on the
left. I'd really prefer it to be in the main
content area, above XWiki
Enterprise.
* I'd like that the main page explains that
the XWiki project is an
ecosystem of projects.
* "see what users have to say..." look
really strange where it's located.
* Footer looks good
* The 3 big buttons sounds slightly too flashy compared to the rest
* We don't see latest modified pages
* My biggest complaint: The home page doesn't look like a community site
at
all. This is important. Showing avatars + names would a way to achieve
this. Actually I think I'd prefer that the home be 100% about the community
only and have a link to direct to the XE page. The current home page could
be used as the main home page for the XE project page instead.
Conclusion: I'd really like to see a proposal where the home page is a
community site proposal showing contributors activities (avatar + names) on:
- extensions (extensions.xwiki.org)
- modified pages in the wiki(s)
- mailing list messages
- code commits
