Thanks for the suggestion Sergiu. After getting yet one more hassle with running multiple XWikis under single Tomcat instance I decided to finally bite the bullet and switch to multi-tenancy under XEM. Had been putting it off previously due to concern over PostgreSQL support which was a must have.
