That's a really good post on the Atlassian blogs and reminder to all
of us that in a disruptive business like open souce, we absolutely
need to be in the low-end market because it's the key to meeting the
mainstream market in the future and as Paul Graham says "drive the
competition to the ceiling" (through feature bloat / getting stuck in
high end segments). I love it because Clayton Christensen came out
with the theory (through studying plenty of cases in the industry, his
study of steel industry in amerca is really good), Paul Graham
collaborates that in his usual very direct language from the
entrepreneur's standpoint, and now Atlassian and we at XWiki follow in
those footsteps. Let's do it !
